Chapter 38 - Item Drops

A goblin, that seemed to be a bit shorter than Rei, was standing in front of three smaller goblins. The goblin had unusual grey eyes.

He had a shabby-looking sword in his hand, which looked like would break any minute.

In front of him was a human who was laughing as he looked at the pitiful goblin who was trying to save his family.

The man had golden hair and green eyes. He was equipped with a long sword and dashed toward the goblin.

The grey-eyed goblin too dashed toward the human who swung his sword to kill the grey-eyed goblin. The Grey-eyed goblin placed the shabby-looking sword in front of him so that he could lessen the impact.

*Crack*

The sword of the golden-haired man easily shattered the almost broken sword that the goblin held and met with the goblin's chest area, bringing a big bloody cut.

"Fucker!", Rei cursed out loud as he looked at everything that just happened. Seeing the grey-eyed goblin trying to protect some smaller goblins, probably its children or friends - reminded Rei of his brothers and sisters.

Rei quickly dashed toward the man while simultaneously equipping himself with his shuriken which he had just stored away in the inventory.

He quickly threw it toward the golden-haired man who was then caught off guard.

The shuriken passed through one of his shoulders, decapitating it. Blood flew like a fountain.

Of course, this didn't bring a single hint of pain to the man's face, shocking Rei but Lucas wasn't surprised at all. After all, he knew about certain people called - players.

Players wouldn't feel pain if any damage was suffered to their character… There would be no such masochist who would play the game if such a feature was available…

Regardless…

At that time Rei jumped sideways and then ran straight to get his shuriken back which was stuck in one of the trees after decapitating the arm of the man. Rei was successful in his trial as he grabbed the shuriken and then once again launched it toward the man, this time trying to decapitate his right arm.

But what is better than an arm…? A head!

Rei threw with all his might, this time targeting his head.

The shuriken did its job properly and beheaded the player.

"What the fuck!?" The golden-haired man exclaimed as he looked at the blue screen. He was Divinity. Yep, that was his player name and right now the player divinity was completely shocked - because he saw a goblin killing him.

"Is this a joke or something!?"

Leveling… was pretty difficult.

There was something called Level or Sector or Area restrictions.

In other words, the continent was divided into some sectors or areas that had levels of their own.

For example, Lv.1 Area or Sector 1 was a place where one could level up from Lv.1 to Lv.10. When one reaches Lv.10, no matter how much they hunt, they wouldn't be able to level up in the sector 1.

They have to move forward to sector 2, and start hunting monsters there. Only after that would they advance to Lv.11 and so on.

Thus, Sector 1 was for Lv.1 to Lv.10, sector 2 for Lv.11 to Lv.20, etc.

Also, while leveling up from Lv.1 to Lv.5 was considered somewhat easy, after that it was heck of a task.

One had to hunt a lot of monsters in order to level up in the given area/sector.

Of course, the same could be said about Lv.11 to Lv.15 when compared to the successive levels… it was hard after Lv.15.

Regardless…

With great difficulty, Divinity had reached Lv.6 and only needed about 25% more exp to reach the next level, but sadly he met Rei, due to which his level dropped down to five once again, and his 75% exp went turned 0%: all because Rei killed him.

"This game is insane! How can they keep such a monster in the newbie village and that too a goblin?"

"Wait, is that the legendary goblin they were talking about?"

"No…"

"How can a fucking goblin be a legendary monster!? Who the hell is fucking insane to make a legendary goblin?!", He kept on cursing.

He was someone who had watched the famous video [Goblin - A legendary creature or just a bug of the game?] which now had about 120k views and believed that it was just an error or some kind of bug. Or it might be editing or any other legendary monster that looked like a goblin, was what he believed but now he couldn't say that thing for sure. After all, he just met with such kind of monster.

The blue screen flashed in front of Rei, but he ignored it.

It stated about his levelling up but he couldn't care more about it right now.

After all, there were more humans and he decided to kill them all.

For some reason, he felt a lot of anger inside of himself, which seemed to be bursting out right now. His grip over his shuriken increased.

-"Go grab the items dropped by the player."- Lucas suddenly spoke, not getting a chance to see the text on the screen as Rei abruptly closed it.

"Items?" Rei asked and then looked at the place where the dead body of the player was supposed to be present. Of course, instead of the dead body, there was a short sword and two long swords – both Grade E.

-"Store them in your inventory. They will be useful sometime later…"- Lucas advised.

He didn't want to miss this opportunity of getting more weapons. They could use or at least, sell them.
