Chapter 5 - 5. Mischievous Smile

It was the night of the fashion show that her family found out and they were truly awed by the success she reached without anyone knowing the struggles.

Michael then helped her with the office building and its interior while Marcus set up a factory to make endless numbers of dresses and outfits.

After a month of thundering success, Cristian got designers for the company to reduce his sister's workload and she was highly supported by her mother who supervised the workers to help her and make sure she is healthy and takes care of herself.

She smiled remembering her family's support and outburst on the finding.

She walked over to the glass wall in her office with smile on her face and serenity in her eyes. She was grateful her hard work paid off. She grateful she achieved something so young. She was grateful she was looked up at. She was grateful that she reached so far after being abandoned by her own blood.

The thought pushed away the smile on her face replacing it with indifference and her eyes were too calm. Like the calm before the storm.

She laid on the couch, the one only she used and a 'do not touch' sign was kept atop it to keep visitors away from it.

Looking at the sky, unknown emotions swirled in her eyes as she seemed to be in a deep thought as she slowly drifted off to sleep.

~After an hour~

At the reception, a handsome man stood with a bouquet of various flowers including white daffodils, lily of the valley, lilac and tulips. They were all arranged beautifully.

He was wearing an olive-green suit with a black shirt and white tie.

He checked the time on his watch as the heel of his formal shoes tapped the ground white, he waited for the security to examine the bouquet. His red eyes shown with impatience.

'what's the need of such tight security?! It's not like she can't handle a dozen humans! Bloody dogs!' he thought while gritting his teeth.

"I am sorry sir but the CEO doesn't take guests." The receptionist's voice angered him a little but he maintained his smile.

"If the CEO doesn't take guests, you could have told at the beginning itself. Why have me wait here for the past 10 minutes and have the bouquet checked?" he quirked a brow and eyes narrowed.

The receptionist broke into sweat yet still answered, "it was to make sure you carried no ill intentions."

The man's smile turned ugly as he said the next words looking directly into the scared receptionist's eyes, "I want to see her. Where is she?" as his eyes glowed yet wasn't visible in the light.

The receptionist nodded his head, "She in on the 17th floor."

With that, the red eyed man walked to elevator and reached the 17th floor.

He saw the two compartments on the floor like of an apartment where the door to the left side was open. He walked in and was thrilled by the neat and tidy get up of the room.

His ears perked up at the rhythmic beats of a heart beyond another door.

He smiled and had an excited expression on his face as he walked to the door. He paused before it wondering if he should barge in or knock first.

In the next two seconds, he decided to do the latter. He gently knocked before opening the door and walking in only to see a tiny figure sleeping on the couch.

He saw that Ivy was sleeping in an uncomfortable position and was hell bent on becoming one with the couch.

His eyes caught another door. He opened to see in a bedroom and there was a double bed at the center of the wall opposite to him.

He smiled mischievously and picked Ivy in his arms and saw her lean and snuggle into his chest.

He strode to the room lightly, careful not to wake her up. He gently put his knee up on the bed and leaned forward to lay Ivy at the very center of the bed. He covered her with duvet before overlooking the city though the glass wall as he loosened his tie.

He walked to the waiting area while taking of his coat and throwing it on the couches overlooking the scenic view from the glass wall and continued unbuttoning his shirt to reveal his highly toned abs with literally zero fat and only muscle.

He opened the fridge, his eyes scanning the items in there when he locked his target.

Opening a can of beer, he sipped on it while taking out a beer mug and pouring the contents of the can into the mug while spilling a few drops on the platform and the ground and removing his shoes simultaneously.

He picked the mug and drank a few sips before he went and sat on the sofa Ivy was dozing off on and took of his socks after keeping the mug on her desk.

He walked up to the desk and picked up the mug and took big gulps of beer from it while noticing the stain the mug left on table.

Her turned around still holding the mug in his hands while slipping of his shirt only to end up pouring half the beer from the mug to the floor and some drops splashed on the couch on which his shirt lay.

His eyes shone with satisfaction as he undid his belt and threw it on the bedroom's floor and walked up to Ivy's sleeping form.

He undid the hooks of her jumpsuit and pulled it down from the chest and back till her waist.

He had kept the mug on the night table beside the bed to leave its marks. He poured some of the contents of the mug on his right hand over her t-shirt. He was sure the white t-shirt would get stained. Furthermore, he poured beer in his hand on the floor, forming a shallow but wide puddle.

He continued looking at Ivy as he lay on his side with his head plopped on his hand forming a triangle.

'Does this woman not eat enough?' he thought back to the items in the fridge. 'No wonder she is so tiny and pale.'

He continued assessing her with his sharp, hawk like eyes.
