Chapter 10 - 10. Bratty Attitude and Sarcastic, Meaningless Retorts

I went towards the private stable avoiding eyes as it was clear no one but her was allowed.

The scene which greeted me was unbelievable. She was sitting on the floor, her whole body leaning on 'horsey.'

So, freaking dirty!

Moreover, she was talking to that dumb 'horsey' saying how some 'Xade Boy' annoyed her, but she had her own tiny revenge and also managed to leave him utterly shocked at the end.

Looks like Xade truly got on her nerves to piss her so much that she is to complain to a dumb animal.

But that's so like Xade, full of mischief. It would be a surprise if actually had tried wooing her without causing her much trouble.

Perhaps that's why he wants to meet us all tonight, to get tips so that he can save himself, his body from flying slippers and shoes which will be greeting him every time he returns home if he doesn't mend his ways.

I laughed at the thought of his mother running after him as he tried escaping both, his parents and Ivy's wrath if he continued with the usual.

Ivy wouldn't leave him either. It can easily be understood from the way her eyes sparkled with glee as she spoke to the dumb 'horsey.'

Just then I heard something which cut right through the train of my thoughts. She had said something like 'my devil,' perhaps another person, and finally jumped into 'green eyes.'

That's one hell of a name she gave me. The devil guy is still lucky, whoever he is. And poor Xade, being called a boy must have left him annoyed beyond measure.

Hey brat! My eyes are rich emerald and not green, you'd see only if your blind eyes could actually see.

"Green Eyes can't seem to mind his business. First, he and whoever was with him intruded on my small yet fulfilling lunch and then he spoiled our time together too. He made it 'Green Eyes aka Big Rascal and me' time," she huffed.

She sure is good at some things which make zero sense: how to push people away, show them their place, give them crappy names and agitate, annoy and irritate fellow beings.

*Neigh, neigh*

The horse neighed as if understanding what she was saying.

"I know you don't mind but Green Eyes aka Big Rascal-"

That was it! I could hear of the crappy name which was more like an insult rather than a form of addressal.

I cleared my throat making my presence known. She turned to me with a slight surprise which soon turned to a questioning and irritate gaze as she saw no one else but me and me alone.

"I am called Strider." I was agitated yet calm at the same time.

"Outsiders aren't allowed here."

She seems to be hellbent on driving people away.

"I seemed to have lost my way," I lied through my teeth.

"And eavesdropped on my conversation?"

And ruined my reputation.

DAMN! I am a man of dignity!!

"Looks like I have to leave now, I'll see you soon again," she kissed 'horsey' on the forehead and cheek before walking past me, not sparing a glance.

I was agitated at the blatant ignorance showered upon me in the past hour and wanted to distract myself. I saw some girls ogling at me and knew what I had to do.

I had a chick's arms wrapped around me as she sucked my neck when the lift opened on the 7th floor, and I saw Ivy.

She had changed back to her previous clothes and had a look of indifference in her eyes. She ignored me and was about to walk past me when I remembered something.

Man! She didn't even introduce herself.

I pushed the girl away and said, "You didn't give a name."

It doesn't matter that I know it already, she should still give it after spending almost an entire afternoon together and for the sake of etiquettes.

"Privacy is a thing," she stated.

She surely is a brat. A mannerless brat at that.

"I gave you mine," I retorted, hissing a little.

"Traditions are for the old and I intent to be young forever." The brat walked away.

"She is Ivy, she once humiliated me" The chick was annoyed my attention got snatched by Ivy.

"Keep your man in control, bitcher." Ivy responded in a snarky manner, without looking back.

She sure knows how to shut and humiliate people with her bratty attitude and sarcastic, meaningless retorts.

First impression is said to be the most important, and here she ruined it to the point I doubt I'll ever see her in a different light. Like never!

After Ivy got into the elevator, she sent a smirk my way as its door closed.

Should I be worried? Hell no!

I pulled the chick into my room and made one hell of a mess with her.

I now understand what that smirk was for. That high pitched screams sure ruined my earbuds.

But how does the brat know? Could it be that….?

Oh no! no way! I'd be damned if that were the case. She ought be straight.

*End of POV*

Ivy just arrived at her company and was in the elevator when her phone rang. Seeing it was Cristian, she picked it in a heartbeat.

"Yo sis," a deep yet carefree voice came from the other end.

"Sup brother."

"Wondering if you're free for dinner?"

"Sure am."

"Mansion at 8 then?"

"Arghh! You tricked me!"

By this time, she entered the left side of the 17th floor and was headed to her office.

"You always got excuses sissy. Never mind them, you can stay at my place for the night. And don't you dare skip! I got you to meet someone."

"of course, I wouldn't skip at any costs. I don't want a snitch for all I care."

A laughter resounded on the other end of the call.

"See ya there Chris."

She hung up but Cristian kept the phone on his ear for a couple more seconds hearing the 'beep' sound echo.

"She always does this," he complained.

"She is a busy one, always cooped in her office or in papers," a deep voice answered, laughing.

"You need to be serious about this, dad. You know how badly she's been avoiding you people after the last match making."

A deep chuckle sounded at the mention.

Talking about the night four months ago was no less than taboo. Not because something bad happened, but it was humiliating and torturous for their guest who fled with his tail between his legs.
