The stadium was surrounded by thousands of people who cheered so loudly that I definitely felt my eardrums moving.
the master and the 12 captains were not on the top of the tower this time, instead, they were sitting on similar thrones from the selection, on a glowing stage, right in the middle of the huge stadium.
I saw the short person there, again. After the crowd had finished cheering, we were given instructions to form a horizontal line in front of the captains and the master. After this, the short person announced loudly,
"I welcome everyone, to the Grand Annihilator Ascendance Ceremony! Today, we will be adding a total of 256 new annihilators to our ranks and they will fight alongside us to protect humanity."
The cheering increased dramatically. I felt several eyes on me. Well, I guess that was to be expected but I still didn't like it much. The short person continued,
"Now then, without further ado, let us begin the ascendance!"
Did I say they cheered before this? If I did, that cheering was a whisper compared to this one. How did the captains look perfectly fine?
Maybe they were using their soul powers to reduce the sound by several times before reaching their ears. No wonder.
The short person called out the name of someone I never heard of. The person at the far end of the line came forward, went to the glowing stage, and knelt before the captains and master. It seemed as though I was going to be the last person to go there.
"What squad will you join?" asked the short person.
He seemed to think for some time and then spoke, "I wish to join the White Tigers!".
The crowd didn't applaud much. I felt relieved about this. I almost felt my eardrum beating like my heart, about to burst.
Like this, a total of 253 people had been sorted. Most of them had gone to the white tigers. Oh right, did I ever mention the name of the squads? Sorry for being this late but here we go.
