"I have my ways," I said.
She seemed curious, but not as much as those outside my door. Thankfully she didn't pry on the matter. I changed the topic.
"Anyways, how did you get to know about the Southern legion?"
She grinned at hearing this. I doubted her aunt would have told her about it just because she asked. However, judging by Captain Raphael's character, it was a fair possibility.
"Remember when I said I was going on a dangerous task and that you wouldn't be able to see me in any of the squads? Well, I'm going to the Southern legion as well."
WHAT? How come I had to go through all that to join and she could join without any problems? Life is truly unfair.
"Was your family okay with it?"
"Well, my grandpa is the one who recommended me. As I was recommended by a captain himself, everyone was quite convinced."
This made sense. Too bad my dad couldn't just come over and recruit me. He has always stricken me as a slightly sadistic man. Well, slightly is an understatement.
"I see, can you tell me more about the Southern legion?"
She nodded her head.
"So, the Southern legion is a separate squad that goes on very dangerous missions. These missions are dangerous because they have to fight with alien races on a daily basis to stop them from rebelling in any way.
There are always some aliens who try to rebel in groups or even alone. These aliens are very powerful. Even the weakest alien who rebels is at least a higher stage B rank in power."
Now I realized why these missions were so dangerous. Even the weakest was a higher stage B rank?
This was indeed a suicidal mission. Why would my dad want me to join this? Could I even be of any help? Nicola continued.
"So, the Southern legion is comprised of several groups of 6. Each group has at least a lower stage A rank leader. Altogether, there are 106 A-rank leaders. All of them are led by Trace Dinn. He is the only one who can match the master in power!" Nicola said excitedly.
It seemed that she didn't know my dad's real name or that he was my dad. She also didn't know that my dad was actually stronger than the master.
I have to admit, it felt good to know that I knew more than her on this subject. But unfortunately, I couldn't tell her these secrets. Not yet, at least.
