CHAPTER 1
Hundreds of years had passed after the death of the arch Mage. But before then, the Eastern part of the land was dominated by the Elves while the western part of the land, the humans settled there. They are both separated by the Magical boundary created by Arch-mage A'vous.
Heron, an Elvin Prince and A'vous' friend at that time was made king. He bore four sons and when they came of age, there was conflict amongst themselves on whom will be the next king. Heron decided to divide the land into four and gave them to his sons before he died. The four lands were; Jordia, Magmaria, Springhan and Dersertia and it was given accordingly.
Shortly after his demise, the second son, who was given Magmaria started plotting to conquer and overthrow the first son who was the ruler of Jordia. He almost succeeded but did not. Since then, each land protected themselves against threats from each other and also brought enmity between the Land of Jordia and Magmaria to this present day.
The humans on the other hand. They fled for their dear lives after witnessing the display of power from the Arch-mage A'vous. The earth trembled and as they ran, those who were opportune to look back saw the elves vanishing into thin air. But unknown to them, the magical boundary created by the Arch-mage created an illusion that made them think the elves went into extinction. As years passed, the humans segregated themselves into kingdoms unto this present day.
...
"Luna!! Where are you?" Kael called out for his sister. He is so happy that he couldn't wait to share the news he heard. "What! Why are you calling out my name like that? Luna was engrossed in the book she was reading. Her brothers voice jolted her back to reality. She placed both hands on her hips waiting for a reply from her brother. Instead, Kael was smiling like he won a bet or something. "Mother is in town!" he blurted out. "What?! Really??? Where is she?" Luna hurriedly put on her shoes. Kael held her hand to stop her and said, "I know you are excited as I am and cannot wait to see her, but before you run off, she is at the market square and would be here any minute. So just calm down, okay?"
...it has been over a year since they last saw their mother and Luna Randle - being the youngest, missed her mother so much. Well, Kael is mostly busy with their father, Hector who is one of the councilors at the king's cabinet and an advisor in their small town. Although he has an assistant named Fedrick who is quite an eye catch. Even Luna had feelings for him. But she wouldn't dare muster up the courage to tell him. Instead, she day dreams about him all the time. And wished he would on day have feelings for her as well. Luna is mostly at home with the house maid but she does well in taking care of herself and the home. Finally, her mother is back from one of her long trips. At least, her visit to the library will reduce, now that her mother is around. She loves to read. And now, she can't wait to hear stories of her travels, treasures and collections she brought back for sale. She hopes to travel with her someday.
"I cannot wait to see her Kael" she said with excitement. "Me too."
Shortly afterwards, Maya Randle, their mother came. she hugged her daughter tightly. How much she has missed her children. Kael on the other hand tried to prove a big boy and not showing emotions but deep down he misses his mother too. "My boy is a grown man! Let me see your beards" "stop it mother, it's embarrassing" as he tried to stop his mother from touching his little growing beards.
Luna and Maya had a long talk, cooked together, spoke until late night when Councilor Hector came back with Frederick. They both had a busy day. The Husband-and-wife exchange pleasantries after seeing themselves after a long time. "I hope you are staying longer this time around; Luna wants to see more of her mother around besides, she has come of age and you know that" Councilor Hector said with a low voice. "I heard you father and I can take care of myself, even mother commended my efforts. And Madam Racheal spoke well of me too. But mother, I hope you are staying longer this time around" Luna asked her mother with all seriousness. "My beautiful moon, yes, I am staying longer okay, worry less my dear" maya assured her daughter.
As days goes by, Maya noticed her daughter's feelings towards Federick, but decided to keep it to herself for now. she had been away for a while now, and would not know her daughter's reaction towards the topic. Soon, Federick was to leave for the castle for further training as a knight. But before he left, Luna and Federick spoke at length and he told her how much he would miss her because he doesn't know for how long the training will be. As months passed by, Luna was convinced that Fredrick felt the same because he often writes letters to her.
On a fateful day, Luna was heading back home from the library and over heard two ladies saying three knights came down to their town and Frederick was one of them. "He is in town?" Luna thought, "what if he tells me he feels the same as I do?" that thought gave her cold feet and a smile slowly crept on her face. When Luna got home, unknown to her, her face was as red as a tomato. Her mother worriedly asked, "are you alright my dear? You looked all flushed!" "What? Ooh... I am alright mother," Luna shyly replied. "Are you sure? Or are you allergic to anything? What did you eat?" "Mother! I am fine... nothing is wrong, okay?" Luna assured her mother. She paused for a while and continued, "I heard that Fredrick is in town and he is now a knight." Maya understood why her daughter looked all red. It is because of Fredrick. "I see... go wash up for dinner will be served soon."
During dinner, Councilor hector was not in a good mood, but never spoke a word. Maya noticed as well but said nothing either. The following day, Luna went outside their home to take fresh air and saw the same ladies who spoke of Fredrick the day before. She approached them and decided to ask if Fredrick was still in town. They told her yes and he is currently at the Tavern down the street. She contemplated at first because she has never been to the Tavern. Her father was against it and the owner of the tavern despised her father but she made her conclusions to go see Fredrick for herself. "it's just to see him and talk, nothing more," she assured herself.
