Chereads / Desolate Monarch / Chapter 8 - Unexpected

Chapter 8 - Unexpected

Ricky was watching the entire scene from a distance.

Linley.

"He's a cunning individual."

He chose to wait five days.

There would undoubtedly be individuals who would cling to him if he were to make this statement while everyone was suffering from hunger.

He was aware that six individual would try their best to make him look good.

On the other side, Martin's remaining faction wouldn't be as cohesive.

Martin made an effort to accept everyone.

It made no difference if they had any skills.

Naturally, discontent among the capable will grow, and they will begin to support Linley's faction, which is focused on power.

Similar to how Linley purposefully delayed making this statement by eight days... He could calmly assess his environment and take appropriate action.

when taunting Martin.

He appeared to be well-versed in psychological principles.

Linley was patiently waiting with an unflappable demeanor.

"What about you?"

Someone then raises their hand shortly after.

Nadine.

her decision that this time she would try to join Linley after feeling humiliated by Ricky.

"You? How can you help? You genuinely believe that I'll give you some of my expensive meals just because you're a little attractive? "

She was agitated because she believed he would undoubtedly accept her.

But she instantly became calm and emphasized her chest.

"There are many things I can do for you. everything you can think of. Anything... you state."

Linley quickly scanned her physique.

She persevered despite feeling like a centipede was creeping about her body.

She has been taking various measures to survive for the previous five days.

She started by looking for the person she believed would live the longest.

She initially sought Ricky for that very reason.

However, it was a failure and Linley was her new objective.

He was a cold-hearted good-for-nothing, but his skills were quite high-caliber.

Martin didn't appear like he would endure very long because he seemed a little confused.

"I can be the queen if I make this man the king,"

she said.

As a result, she made Linley the king.

Nadine believed that once she made a choice, the person had to strive to be the best.

Linley made a lewd lip-licking motion.

"Sure. You will receive an exception, but I will have stringent guidelines for everyone else. You must be starving, so while you wait, eat something."

"Thanks."

He handed Nadine a loaf of bread as soon as she had moved to stand behind her.

She chewed on the bread and devoured it as if it were the tastiest meal ever.

She was aware that doing this would make her look bad, but she also understood that it would persuade more people to join.

Many others saw her consume while suckling down their saliva.

"Me, me! Will you let me in?"

"You'll need someone like me if you need to perform something that takes strength!"

"I'm a far better option than a person like him! "

Everyone tried their best to convince them that they are worth it.

A mass of people moved over to Linley's side like a flood.

Linley and Martin.

The persons who joined either side could be distinguished clearly from one another.

"Linley, dividing into two groups is not a smart idea."

Linley simply clicked his tongue as Martin spoke with a stern tone.

"Just be concerned with your future, ok?"

"

He was powerless to reverse the flow of events.

The selected lifted their heads high as though they had been picked to become aristocrats as Linley began to recruit more recruits.

There were being assigned ranks.

Many people were turned off by Martin's "rescue everyone" policy.

More and more people started to believe that getting rid of worthless ones would be preferable.

An opening...

He needed that, that's all.

He turned to face Ricky.

Ricky never dropped below first place in the rankings.

He had the most food, yet Martin never acknowledged him when he requested assistance.

They couldn't just seize it by force, though.

They might be able to defeat him if everyone joined forces.

Even that, though, seemed dubious.

He represented a predator that everyone is afraid off.

Martin was now left with no other option.

He knows Linley will take the initiative if he lets things slide.

Did Ricky comprehend Martin's expression?

Ricky abruptly shifted his position to the center of the crowd.

The noise calmed down at the same time, and everyone's eyes turned to him.

He had never before stepped out in such a manner, and he explained.

"I am going to hunt in the outskirts of the forest."

After getting everyone's attention.

"Every day, two loaves of bread and clean water will be provided to all volunteers."

"He's crazy."

Everybody's thought was just like that

Why would so many people attempt to remain at the starting point?

Because if they ventured even a small distance beyond the temple, monsters would swarm them!

And he intended to investigate that location?

Even though he was now providing water and bread, the situation was not any better.

It wouldn't be any different from suicide to get there.

They were unable to interpret anything other than "going out to die."

But Ricky persisted in impatiently waiting.

It seemed as though it didn't matter whether or not anyone joined him.

Nobody would offer to help... The majority of individuals believed that.

"Why not three loaves of bread, sir? For my brother and I. "

She was approached by a young girl.

She appeared to be nineteen years old. She is a frail-looking girl and it's almost unbelievable that she reach this far.

Her brother, on the other hand, was in a much worse state.

Both of his have been disabled by the bite of a Red Wolf.

During the second day's monster attack, he lost both of his arms.

As soon as they left the crowd, it appeared like they would all die.

Both of them will be nothing but burdens, so everyone expected that Ricky will turn them down.

But contrary to everyone's expectation, Ricky smiled at them and said.

" Let's go."
