Chapter 2 - Wrong Man

Ever since Catherine could remember, Lori, Desmond, and Jack had been stealing and traveling across England together. Jack was just a little boy. Desmond and lori were lovers. Lori and Catherine had lived in a small house outside of Paris until Catherine was eight years old, and then Lori had run away from that house without giving any explanation to Catherine, and hit the road together.Lori had said Catherine that she had taken Catherine with her after her parents died and that she was a relative. She had never told her about her parents. They met Desmond at an inn. She had gone to Lori Desmond's room that night, and then Desmond had never left them. Jack joined them when he was just 5 years old. Lori always warned her to dress in men's clothes. They never stayed in one place for more than a week, traveling from place to place. Desmond steals the nobles' money. Catherine and Jack would also help them. They always stayed in inns on the road. They usually robb having low title nobles. They were going to rob a noble tonight, too.

They were going to rob a noble tonight, too. The town baron was on his way home from London tonight. Lori had heard about it a few days ago at the inn. Still, Lori's learning methods were not lacking. While Catherine was thinking this, Desmond came in. "Cat, Jack, hurry up and set a trap in the road, he'll be there in a few hours. You know what to do, right? "Catherine nodded yes. Cat left the inn and set off.Walking through the woods in the dark didn't scare Cat at all. Desmond had told him to bring Jack along, but Jack was very sick this evening. He had talked to Lori that if they made good money from this last job, they would use some of it for Jack's illness. Cat had set her trap where the carriage was going and had climbed up a tree nearby. He had been waiting for hours, but no one came. She had been waiting for hours, but no one came. And where was Desmond and Lori anyway? While thinking this, Cat realized that she was hungry and took an apple from her bag. As she ate his apple, she heard the distant sounds of horses and lay in wait.Cat couldn't see much in the dark. The horseman was coming fast on the rope stretched out on the road. Cat was trying to make out something in the darkness, but she couldn't see anything. The horse approached the trap and a neighing sound was heard. Apparently, the horse got trapped and fell with its owner, so Cat quickly got down from the tree and lit the candle she had brought with her. Instead of taking the usual route to his estate in Windermere, Andrew had changed his way and decided to ride through this unmounted town at last. This was both faster and safer.

On the way, he had learned that there had been a lot of gangs stealing lately. Fortunately, Andrew didn't carry a lot of money with him. Andrew heard a noise in the dark as he was driving down the road. He wasn't riding his horse at full bridle anyway. He had to be careful on this road. Hearing the sound, he slowed his horse even more. Just then, his horse tripped on something and luckily Andrew's reflexes were so fast that he jumped right off the ground and avoided injury. So there was a gang here. Andrew was a very good weapon. He immediately threw himself to the right of the road and fell to the ground. He didn't neglect to check his gun, too, to find out how many there were. After a while, some voices began to come from the trees. And he heard someone's footsteps. Then he saw a light. Andrew thought it was a person and felt his gun.

Catherine slowly walked towards the road and looked around. The man was lying on the ground. Lori and Desmond were still nowhere in sight. Catherine approached the man, her only goal being to take the man's money and get away from there as soon as possible. She sank to the ground and reached out to search the man, but just then a hand caught Cat's arm. Catherine drew back in fear. But she couldn't free his arm from the man. The men were still in the forest, so Andrew was surprised to see a little boy in front of him. Andrew grabbed the boy's arm and pulled him to himself. "Don't be quiet or I'll shoot you, where are they?" The boy opened his green eyes wide with fear. After Cat got over the initial shock, she was confused as to what to do. Taking advantage of this surprise, Andrew quickly stood up and pulled Cat to his feet, slid his arm under her neck and put a gun to her head. "Now walk slowly." Then he shouted into the forest. "Get out wherever you are or I'll shoot the boy." Andrew waited a while, but no sound came out. They should have appeared by now.

In the meantime, only one thing was running through Cat's mind. What would he do if he put her in jail? She needed to get rid of it immediately. Andrew realized after a while that no one was there. Just then, a blow was struck in the stomach. Cat had hit him. Andrew let go of Cat in surprise. Cat seized the opportunity and swung her bag over Andrew's head. Andrew regressed a little with the blow. When the cat was freed from his grip, he quickly ran towards the forest. Andrew started running after the boy. Cat thought she could get rid of the man, but the man was stubbornly chasing after her. On top of that, he was about to catch Cat. It was a short run. Andrew caught Cat. But Andrew had grabbed her from behind when they both tripped over a branch and fell to the ground. There was a full moon tonight, lightening the darkness a little. Cat fell on her back and Andrew collapsed on top of her. Cat was really hurt. Cat's hat fell from his head with the impact of the fall. Her long black hair was draped over the floor. Andrew was surprised at first when he realized that it was a girl lying underneath. "You're a girl," she said in surprise. A girl was stealing. Cat struggled to free herself. "Wait, you can't get rid of me like that," said Andrew, holding his hands. He was about to stand up when Andrew received a blow to the head and passed out.
