Briar P.o.v
It seemed like it just yesterday even though it was so long ago. All the way back in the 17th century in fact.
She was about to get the crown from her parents. There was a huge party, everyone was dancing, singing, talking, laughing.
"After your coronation,we should get you a husband!"Her father said cheerfully. She frowned. She didn't want to marry some uppity prince who she didn't even know and her father would just have to deal with that.
She was queen now and she could make her own decisions. Her little sister walked up to her, with a man with brown hair and sideburns.
"Hi Briar, mom, dad,I was wondering if we could get your blessing to marry Ben"She said. Her parents were about to say something but she cut them off.
"Iris, you can't marry a man you just met" She said. Her sister scoffed.
>"You can if its true love"Her sister protested. Briar sighed,"what do you know about true love?" She asked
"More then you,you don't love anyone!"Iris snapped. Briar was deeply hurt by her sister's words.
. With great dignity she turned to the guard and said,"close the gates, the parties over, see everyone out safely and calmly".
>The guard obeyed.
"Briar,I'm sorry"Iris apologized.
"Too late. You took it to far this time" She said bitterly. Iris's face turned bright red.
"what did I ever do to you?"
"Enough,Iris"
"Why do you shut me out,why do shut the world out what are you so afraid of?" Iris said.
"I said enough!"Briar snapped. From her hand several plants grew and her castle turned into a semi-jungle.
"Sorcery.." One of the rich guests said in appalled tone. She ran outside and clutched her head.
"Your majesty,is everything alright?"A mother with a baby in her arms asked.
"Um.." She said. People started to surround her,she backed up against a fountain anxiously and as she touched it,it became overrun with plants that blocked the water from coming out. People gasped, the women's baby cried. She shoved through the crowd and ran too the nearby lake.
"wait,Briar!Stop!"That was Iris, she wasn't scared of her sister, but she was being followed by several guards and some of the royal guests. She backed up onto the lake but did not sink, instead, she walked onto it as if it were solid ground. She ran as fast she could ,she saw her kingdom become overrun with plants, buildings crumbled and trees rose. She felt tears roll down her face.
She ran fast as she could until she got to a distant forest. She collapsed on the ground and wept. She could never return home,at least while her family was still alive. She had read books about Arch druids in the past. She assumed that was what she was. They were immortal and had powers over the natural world.
She would stay 16 forever. She looked around the forest, she took a deep breath and tried to calm down. Now that she was calm, she noticed how beautiful the woods were. Then a Doe and her faun approached her. It cautiously licked her face. She laughed,The doe sat down and layed it's head on her lap. Her faun nestled close to it's mother. She pet both of them.
"Hello Mistress,I am Skylene, this is my daughter, Violetta" The doe said. She wasn't too shocked she was aware that arch druids could communicate with animals and magical creatures.
"Well,Skylene, would you and Violetta mind showing me around?"She said. Skylene nodded and showed her around the forest,it seemed magical.Familiar animals such as rabbits had odd coloration. Some were blue, some were pink. There were pixies, unicorns, griffons, mermaids, and she even saw a few young dragons. They all welcomed her with open arms or claws or paws or hooves....Anyway they showed too a tree house...she has never seen one before but it looked beautiful.
"we built this for you mistress,we've been waiting for your arrival for many years"A stoic blue dragon said too her. He lifted her up too her tree house gently with his wing.
It was furnished with nicely carved wooden furniture and was decorated with candlelit lamps. (which didn't seem like the smartest idea, but it was pretty much the only source of light they could get) and forest finds like pine cones and leaves. Her bed was made of discarded animal fur. She layed down in it and let out a sigh. She then closed her eyes and drifted off.
