several months later....
Phoenix P.o.v
Phoenix P.o.v
Every day after school since then they had come to Briar's home and learned both nature magic and potions. Apparently,Briar did not learn her magic in this same way and she had just gotten it,but she had had to practice for a very long time before she got the hang of it. Apparently they had been born with the same gift she had, which was one of the reasons they were all so drawn to the forest. They had recently succeeded in making several of the healing potions and they could also all shapeshift.
Now they had a huge supply and started to cure corrupted animals and plants with Briar, the forest looked even better then before.
"I cannot thank you enough for helping me,too repay you,you may come here again everyday and practice with me more due to you being druids anyways" She said. Then inside her home they heard some sort of moan/cough. She rushed inside, leaving the group to wait for her and ponder what in the name of heck was behind that door.
"Maybe it's a sick animal that she doesn't know how to cure"Fenir guessed. Then she came back out.
"I apologize, had to take care of something.....I think...I think it's time for me to show you"She said. They were all visibly excited and curious. They eagerly followed her up the stairs and it seemed like an eternity before Briar opened the door. Behind it,was a large white wolf,as it opened it's eyes she saw they were a wild emerald green.
"Hello, you must be the students Briars been talking about. My name is Lycaon, yours?" He asked. A little stunned she responded,
"I'm Phoenix, the one with light brown hair and grey eyes is Fenir, the one with blonde hair and brownish skin is Sky,and the one with dark brown hair and red eyes is Forest."She said. He smiled.
"Nice to meet the four of you I-"He started but broke out in a coughing fit. Briar gave him some the potion and he seemed to temporarily get better. Briar sighed.
"I'm sorry old friend,it seems this potion is not enough to cure you, only keep you from expiring"She said.
"Yes,the bad thing is that I don't have someone who can take over as alpha, nobody actually wants too because of the responsibility "He said. Then Fenir stepped up.
"I can"He said. She was shocked at her friend. She knew he had always loved werewolves and wished he could be one,but she never he would take it this far. Lycaon smiled upon him gratefully.
"Thank you Fenir, now, give me your arm" He instructed. Her friend did as he was told. Then Lycaon bit him, gently though. Fenir still winced. When Lycaon let go,their was a glowing green bite mark on his arm.
"You should become a full werewolf in a couple days,if I die,you will become alpha of my pack. Do you promise to take care of them?"He asked.
"I do" Fenir responded,dead serious.
"Good, then I can sleep at ease now. If Briar does whip up a permanent cure for me,you will be a Delta wolf, they are high rankers, only outranked by the Beta and the Alpha,no one else"
Then Briar seemed to get an idea.
"Wait..What if...What if I mixed the rejuvenation potion with firefly juice? Then mixed that with...With iron...No It wouldn't work. Iron is only found in the human city and If I go back again I may get killed."She said losing hope with the last two sentences.
"We can go in for you. Were from there,no one will suspect us" Phoenix offered. Briar lit up.
"Oh why did I not think of that, thank you my dear friends!" Briar said, she looked at them as if she could burst into happy tears at any second. She smiled.
"Oh it's no problem!"She said.
The next day...
They were all in the city now. All they had to do was get a piece of iron and Briar would crush it into powder so they could cure Lycaon. It would be easy since her dad was an engineer that built railroads for trains. He often took her to work. When he did that day she asked if she could have a chunk of iron and said she needed it for a school project showing human evolution using materials that were used to name certain ages. Like the bronze, stone, iron age etc.
"Okay kiddo, hope you do well on your assignment" He said. She felt a sting of guilt lying to him,he was a good dad, especially after her mom died.He had remarried a nice teacher, she was sweet and warm. She still missed her mom though. But how could she tell him the truth? He would think she's insane.
"Thanks dad" She said. Then she ran off,the others were waiting for her. Then they overheard a few men talking about cutting down the forest.
"Hey guys,I have a plan"She said.
