Kendall's POV:
".... I'd be there in fifteen minutes. Be ready, babe", Adrian said as he hung up. I jumped out of my bed, dancing happily like a child. We were going for shopping today. Saturdays were the best days to go on shopping and I always loved it.
I quickly slipped my feet into my pink pair of flip-flops and made my way to the bathroom. Oh, shit! I forgot to turn on the heater. Guess I would be forced to have a cold bath now. I brushed my teeth and in ten minutes, I was out.
I walked over to my closet and picked out a black crop top and a high waist jeans. I flitted at the wall clock, it said 10:02 am. He'd be here any moment from now, I said. I hadn't even fixed my hair, gush! I quickly brushed it and rolled it in a messy bun. A touch of makeup on my face....

*honk honk.
The gate automatically opened and then, a black Mercedes Benz with tinted glasses drove in and swerved right in front of my garage. The engine of the car went off.
The door at the driver's seat flung open. It was Adrian's personal driver; Tyler. I had seen him on several occasions. He was dressed in his usual corporate black trouser and white shirt as Adrian had instructed.
Tyler walked over to the backseat and pulled it open as he took a bow in courtesy. The demigod was finally out as he set his foot out and stepped down. He appeared handsome as ever.
I stood at my window side, drooling over his looks without realizing the doorbell had been ringing continually. Silly me!, I said as I slapped my forehead and ran downstairs.
My mom wasn't at home, or rather, is hardly ever at home. She's a full-time caterer and doesn't have much time to spend here. She cooks very early in the morning and before I wake up, the maids are already done cleaning the house and have left.
I hastened my steps and finally got to the door. I turned the keyhole and twisted the doorknob open. He was standing in front of me, looking kinda frustrated, though it was kinda funny. I knew it was my fault.

He rolled his eyes. "You made my fingers go numb, babe".
"I'm very sorry", I begged. I pulled out the cutest puppy eyes to make the apology quick. I could see his cheeks going red.
"Oh, stop please", he pleaded and then, burst into laughter.
His laugh was really contagious, I couldn't hold myself again. My cheeks began to hurt as I laughed harder, so I stopped. We could spend a whole day laughing but I wasn't in for it now.
He pulled his hand out towards me. "Shall we?", he asked. I smiled and slipped my fingers into his as we made way to his car. When we got there, as a gentleman, he opened the backseat door and let me in comfortably, before shutting the door.
Damn! Something caught my eyes in the front seat. The Devil was here too; Mateo, equally as handsome as Adrian. He had been Adrian's bestfriend, long before I met Adrian. God knows how many years. He shot me a deadly stare and had a wide grin over his face. I rolled my eyes at him.
I wasn't feeling comfortable around him. Goosebumps spread visibly round my entire body as I swallowed hard each time my gaze fell on him. There was nothing I could do. I wondered why Adrian had brought him along. I prayed everything would go fine.
Walking over to the other side, Tyler opened the door for him and closed it gently before hastening back to the driver's seat.
"Goodmorning ma'am", Tyler greeted.
I smiled warmly as I answered: "Morning, Tyl".
Soon, Tyler started the engine and we were out of my compound.
All my thoughts diverted to Mateo. He had my future at the tip of his fingers and could snap it at any time, a secret that could ruin the rest of my life for good. He was the only one I feared, that's why I called him the Devil.
He was literally the one controlling my life now, my role was to do as he commanded. I had no say over my actions. Guilt struck me hard each time I realized the damage I was gonna cause in Adrian's life. I never intended to hurt him, but I had no choice now. I was about betraying the love of my life for a selfish reason.
I stole a glance at Adrian who sat beside me, he looked happy, happier than ever. I wish I could just end this game but, no possible way. It was for my benefit and it could cost me a lot if anything went wrong. I fought back the tears that clouded at the corner of my eyes. If I acted emotional, he'd be concerned. I owed him no explanation.
Love betrays.
