I didn't realize Adrian had been calling my name all these while till I got a tap.
"Darling....?", he called out.
I snapped back to my senses, rather, to reality.
"So sorry, I got carried away", I confessed.
"It's alright, we're at the mall", he said. I just realised the car had stopped moving some minutes ago. I wondered how long I'd been thinking. Mateo was already standing outside waiting for us.
"Er, sure. I'll get down now", I said and picked up my bag.
"Wait!!!", he said. I was taken aback by his response. "Sorry, I meant- let me get the door for you", he added and quickly stepped out. I guess he heard me giggling at his reply.
He got there and opened the door. Then, he offered me his hand and walked me out majestically. He winked at me. "Mi reina", he teased. I couldn't believe I was blushing hard. It was a reminder that couples do flirt. Lol.
"It's enough guys. Can we get shopping now?". A deep voice coming from a distance asked. It was the Devil; Mateo. Guess he had gotten tired of watching our drama.
"Sure", we both chorused. Cringe! We exchanged glances and laughed at ourselves.
I was certain, I saw Mateo roll his eyes at us. Adrian took my hand and we increased our pace to catch up with Mateo who had already entered the mall. It was a luxurious mall indeed. The interiors were pretty expensive. Well, Adrian had all the money, so did I too.

"Hey, excuse me please", Adrian called out. He was referring to one of the workers. I wondered the reason behind why he called her, though it was nothing suspicious.
A pretty Canadian lady walked over to where we stood. She was dressed corporately but still looking classy. What should I expect from the workers here? Lol.
"Good day sir. Please, how may I help you?", she asked in her euphonic voice. She seemed polite, unlike some rude ass staff. Well, kudos to her.
"Where are jewelries sold here, please?", Adrian asked.
She smiled. "It's on the 3rd floor. You can use the elevator over there or, preferably to you, the escalator is also available", she said.
"Thank you", we all chorused. She left.
"Which are we going with?", Adrian asked, referring to no one in particular.
"Elevator"
"Escalator". I and Mateo said the exact opposite, same time. He rose a brow at me with a dirty look.
...er, sorry. Elevator", I smiled weakly, trying to cover everything up.
To be honest, I preferred using the escalator. I always feared I could get stuck in the elevator or maybe, something bad could happen to me there. Anyways, it was faster.
We walked over to the elevator, Adrian pressed a few buttons which I wasn't paying attention to. I only stood there waiting for the door to open and walk myself in there. Finally, it opened and we got in.
*beep. It was the sound coming from the elevator. The elevator stopped moving and then, the door opened finally. We were on the 3rd floor now. We took few steps out and the door closed back as programmed to do so.
I had already sighted couple of rings from afar that I really loved to try on. The mall sold the best and most expensive rings in the City. Adrian had bad taste in fashion, guess that was why Mateo came along. We all scattered ourselves in search of the best of all rings.
* * * * * * *
"This one is as beautiful as you, Dollie. You should try it on", Mateo said, holding out a diamond ring. My eyes widened as I saw how beautiful the ring was and ran over to him. He held out my hand and was about putting it on my finger when I snapped back to my senses.
I flinched at his touch and the ring fell to the ground. Had he gone mad? Why didn't he give it to Adrian to test it on me by himself? And to hell with him, he actually complimented me?
"What did you think you were about doing?", I screamed at him. I felt pissed off.
"Babe, it's nothing if Mateo wants to help you. He's my bestfriend for goodness sake!", Adrian said, not really minding what was going on.
"Thanks bro", Mateo said as he picked up the ring. He smirked at me and made annoying faces before walking out.
Bestfriend my foot, I said to myself as I shook my head and went back in search. I tried to forget the whole incident and concentrate on what I came for. Adrian found me a gorgeous diamond ring that fitted perfectly and I got one for him too.
After bargaining and coming to a conclusion on our choices, we moved over to the cashier to make payment and proceed with buying other stuffs. Adrian did the payment, and the cost of both rings was equivalent to $2400 dollars.
We moved over to the floor they sold flowers. I loved the natural scent of fresh flowers, no specific variety. I loved all kinds of flowers. We picked a few bouquets, paid off and left the mall as a whole.
The rest of the stuffs were to be shopped for individually, definitely another day cos I could feel my waist breaking already. I needed to go home and rest. Then, finally I would get to break the news to my mom as soon as I arrive.
Mateo had already called his driver to pick him up from the mall, leaving I and Adrian. A little peace of mind, I guess. *sighs. As soon as Tyl saw us approaching which the packages in our hands, he ran down to get it from us. He had pretty good manners.
We're back in the car, feeling exhausted. My tummy was already rumbling. I just remembered I hadn't eaten anything today. I was too excited to go shopping with Adrian.
* * * * * * *
"Are we heading home? Or, you want to stay at my place...?", Adrian asked before Tyl started the engine.
"Honestly, anywhere I can get something to eat. My tummy is totally empty", I cried. The hunger was becoming unbearable.
"Don't tell me you didn't have something before coming out here! Didn't you think this could affect our baby too?", he yelled loudly, sending shiver down my spine.
My voice lowered and calmed down. "I'm sorry, I just-.
"No need for an apology, I understand. I'm sorry for raising my voice at you, babe", he apologized.
"It's okay, darling. It was my fault", I admitted right away.
"Shhh!", he laughed, then diverted his speech to Tyl. "Drive us to our regular eaterie, please", he said. I wondered why he added the please though.
"Sure, master", Tyl said as he reversed the car and swerved out into the road. I laughed to myself when I heard him say master. Lol. Adrian was way too young to be addressed that way.
