Adrian's POV
Kendall was doing just fine when I last saw her. I doubted if we could go through our engagement while she was lying in this state. Carrying her in my arms was the only way I could assist. She could fall if I let her walk alone.
She had pulled up some weight within these few days, I murmured to myself as my arms began to hurt. I walked as fast as my legs could carry till we got to my bedroom. I dropped her gently on my bed, then I walked back to the door and locked it.
"I don't wanna stay here, baby. Please, take me downstairs. I wanna party on", she pleaded.
"Shh! Wait here, let me get you a glass of water", I said, leaving for the dispenser at the corner of my room. She didn't even pity herself in this condition.
"It's not safe out there, you know. Come to think of your health at this state. Did you think of that of the baby's-
She interrupted as she roared out in laughter. I wondered what amused her at this point. Did I perhaps, say something funny?
"... Baby? ", she asked, trying to control her laughter.
"What's so funny?", I asked in shock. I wasn't getting her point, or why she was still laughing.
"Why do you care when it's not yours, darling?", she asked. This time, she wasn't laughing. She was calm like she didn't say anything.
The glass cup knocked off my hands and smashed into thousands of pieces on the tiles.
"Did you really say that? What do you mean by not mine? Kendall, you need to rest- you're definitely not thinking straight", I said.
Although, I was scared if she was actually telling the truth. All hairs on my body stood on their ends. If it wasn't mine, then, whose? I was waiting for her to speak up and clear my doubts.
"No, no- I'm pretty good. My baby's real dad isn't you, it's your bestfriend's. I mean Mateo's baby". I saw her smile as she rubbed her tummy. She has really gone out of her mind.
"Stop talking nonsense, Kendall!", I yelled out loudly.
"Adrian is shouting at me, baby. He's hurting me", she sobbed. She was definitely talking to the baby in her womb. To scream at her wasn't the best option now. I had to try stay calm as possible.
"I... I'm sorry", I apologized. I cleaned her tears with my palms.
"It's fine now. I won't cry again", she said.
"Eh, about the baby? You told me it was mine earlier, Kendie?", I asked, with a bit of unclarity.
"Did I actually say that?", she asked rhetorically. "Oh, yeah! I remember I said that previously. How will I feel watching my baby grow up without a fatherly figure?", she asked.
"You lied to me all along, Kendall? How could you be this selfish?, I asked. I felt a sharp pain sear through my heart. Was this all I could get in return? After all the love I gave to her? The sacrifices I made just to see her happy?
I gripped her shoulders to vent my anger so she could feel the similar pain to what I felt now. I heard her cry out to my ears. Even if I shot her dead now, it couldn't cover up the pain I felt. I was a hundred percent sure she wasn't joking about the whole stuff now.
"Ouch! You're hurting me, Adrian", she screamed in pain. My ears fell deaf on her pleas.
"My parents were right eversince. I was way too blind to see this coming", I cried, loosening my tight grip. I was broken. Shattered. I wished someone could pinch me and tell me it was a dream.
Just then, I heard her mutter some words. "I made your parents pay dearly for what they were about to do tonight. I... I couldn't watch them ruin our lives. I put them in their rightful place, where they belong, a place you might never get to see them ever again, in your entire life", she confessed.
"Did I just hear you right? Was this some kinda joke or what? Where did you keep my parents?
Kendall, speak to me right now! What have you done with my parents?", I yelled out loudly.
I wasn't getting any more response. She just passed out. I couldn't feel her pulse. I needed answers to my questions that only she could give. I shook her body but she didn't move an inch. I attempted pouring water over her face, yet no response.
The only option left to revive her was to pull the ambulance over. After that, it wouldn't be this easy to make her speak up. I was gonna involve the police in this case to make her confess to her crime once she's out of this state.
