Cadin crouched down with the soldiers, in front the advisors observed the camp they arrived at. It was larger compared to the other one, with a bigger clearing around it, the soldiers inside wore studded armor to small metal plates on parts of their body as they walked around with worn swords to spears. As they all walked around, a single man donned decorated armor of steel with red paint forming patterns on sections of the armor, he walked around with a longsword and helmet in hand.
After discussing the plan of attack with each other, the advisors walked back to the soldiers.
"Same as before, hopefully without Cadin's interference and messing it up, this time though, push closer against them. Do not let them push you back, begin surrounding them from the forest." The advisor ordered.
Cadin followed the soldiers as they moved around the forest, surrounding the unaware people inside. He looked through gaps of the forest at the camp, seeing the people working, all carrying their weapons on their waists or backs while working.
Before long, the battle began, shouts of anger roared out from the forest as a wave of soldiers ran through them, heading straight for the shocked people inside.
The fighters hastily ran out to prepare a line against the soldiers, packing against one another. In seconds, the wave slammed straight into them. Cadin began swinging at individual soldiers in front of him. Swords drove into his body as more blood poured out of quickly healed wounds, more fighters from both sides fell, slowly forming a circle of the dead just outside the camp, the advisors stayed in their positions, watching the battle go on.
His numbers dwindled fast, the single line of fighters becoming broken and pierced through while the densely packed defenders held firm, starting to push back.
"This battle really is not going well, those fools really are bad at this. I need to kill the leader or take out enough soldiers, enough that they understand and stop or surrender." Cadin thought.
He began attacking faster, swinging to drive his sword into fighters in front of him while swords continued cutting through his armor.
Realizing that the battle was starting to turn against them, the advisors hastily ran out to join the soldiers, swords already in hand. The deaths continued rising, the dead piled on the ground, obscuring the grass they fell on.
The advisors joined in with the fight, charging straight into the dense line of men around Cadin while he continued swinging at them.
Quickly, a thought hit Cadin, the advisors are in the thick of battle, fighting a far greater number of foes in front of them, separated from each other and only focused on attacking the enemy.
Cadin fought on, spotting one of the lone advisors, one wearing thick leather armor and a helmet of leather and steel, fighting with ax in hand while he cleaved at the enemy.
Cadin slowly moved to the advisor, still fighting off the countless foes, ignoring the pain that constantly struck him from dozens of blades.
"Cadin, help us hold the line, more of these barbarians are attacking us!" The advisor yelled.
Silent, Cadin moved next to the advisor, preparing his next move.
The numbers of fighters on both sides continued to plummet, Cadin's army slowly turning to a quarter of itself with soldiers falling faster, their numbers getting smaller by the minute.
"Cadin help already!" The advisor yelled out again, Cadin looked around him, the soldiers were preoccupied with fighting, clearly ignoring the advisor.
As discreetly as he could, Cadin pushed the advisor in front of the enemy warriors. Suddenly, swords began driving into the man, slashing parts of him as he fell to the ground lifeless.
Cadin, finishing the task, joined in to fight above the man's body, moving the enemy away. The fighting slowed down with their numbers becoming critically low.
The remaining enemy fighters started dropping their weapons, moving back to the camp to seek refuge while their leader shouted back at them to keep fighting.
With a window open, Cadin drew out his bow, in a quick pull, he released. The arrow crashed into the leader's head, throwing him into the ground with just a single hit, piercing through the armored helmet.
"The leader is dead! Run!" Soldiers hiding inside quickly shouted, alerting the rest.
Soon, the entire battle shifted in an instant, droves of fighters quickly surrendered upon hearing their leader's death, ending the battle abruptly.
"Begin tying their hands, the battle is over!" A voice yelled out, remaining warriors on the battlefield started tying the hands of any remaining enemy fighter.
"Cadin!?" Behind him, an advisor looked at him in shock and surprise.
"You are still standing?" He asked, confused. Cadin simply nodded in response.
The advisor quickly noticed the dead advisor on the ground next to him.
"You failed to save him, one of your allies, people that lead alongside you. And you let him die? You can fight but it seems you cannot fight to protect." The advisor berated him.
As the last soldier was tied up, a pair of soldiers lifted the body of the dead advisor.
"We shall return back to the camp and report on what happened." The advisor said.
They began marching, quickly leaving the camp, seeing the amount of bodies that had been left because of the battle.
Only a quarter of the enemy fighters remained, surrendered after realizing their situation and sudden death of the leader.
Soon, they returned back home. As they entered inside the gate, the leader stood waiting for them. Just like before, he was swarmed by them, a barrage of words came out of their mouths while they recounted the battle.
In the end, they left with their soldiers and prisoners, heading back to prepare.
"Cadin, head to the tent."
Cadin felt what would happen next after hearing the words leave the leader's mouth.
Without a word, he followed the leader inside the tent.
