Cadin lunged forward, aiming for the legs of the man.
Suddenly, in his tracks, the man swung his claymore, cutting into Cadin's armor and sending him crashing through a wooden home.
Cadin's body tore a hole into the abode while he rolled around different furniture and objects.
His body stopped just at another wall of the house, barely moving with splinters and bits of objects resting on his body. Outside, the fighters shouted in rejoice, looking at what they thought was a dead man.
Cadin slowly rose from the ground, the dust and debris falling to the sides. The large gash deep into his waist began healing.
The soldiers outside witnessed him getting up, shocked that he wasn't dead. One fighter leapt through the hole, running straight at Cadin.
In one swing, Cadin slashed the fighter, sending him clattering on the wooden floor below. The giant man still awaited him outside, looking through the hole.
"If he dies, I will return, and the glory will be mine, one hard earned. I will return with resources and prisoners. Perhaps this place can be used by us after." Cadin thought, his body now fully healed from all wounds sustained.
Cadin ran out immediately, jumping out of the hole, he landed on the ground, starting to take out soldiers near him. The giant man raised his weapon, ready to strike.
As it came crashing down, Cadin moved around the giant, it continued trying to hit him, thrashing around killing more of his own.
After a minute of running around, Cadin ran into the giant's right leg, he rammed the sword into an exposed part of the giant's knee, burying it deeper and deeper with all his strength.
The giant, in pain, let out a loud deep guttural cry as he collapsed to his knees. Cadin ripped out the sword, walking to the giant's neck, now close enough to strike.
Seeing a gap in the helmet and armor, Cadin slammed the sword deep into the giant's throat, quickly silencing its cry and sending him to the ground in a loud thump.
The crowd stood in horror, their mouths were shut, looking at the dead giant with faces of shock. A single man, able to kill their leader, a giant who had just killed warriors with a single swing.
"Now for the rest to see." Ripping out the giant's helmet, Cadin stood on top of the corpse.
"Your leader lays dead under me!" He yelled as loud as he could into the camp, the sporadic noise of clanging metal and blades tearing into flesh stopped. They all turned their heads to the man carrying their leader's helmet, standing atop his corpse.
"Lay down your arms, for the man that has led you now lies dead under me! Lay down your weapons, for he has been bested!" The crowds of men and women, horrified at the sudden realization, dropped their weapons. The helmet was still raised up high for all to see.
After a short time, Cadin threw the helmet into the ground, jumping off the corpse to see his army. As he walked, a fighter, filled with rage, stabbed Cadin through the side. The man looked at Cadin with a face of joy, but quickly, it turned to fear. Cadin looked back at him with a face of disappointment.
With little effort, Cadin grabbed the man's chestplate and pierced his chest, through the armor. The man spat out blood before collapsing to the ground.
Cadin simply pulled out the blade, tossing it behind him. He walked forward to meet his men, now under him only, with the advisors dead, nothing was in his way anymore.
"Tie them all and bring them back to our camp, they have been bested as their leader has been dead." He ordered. Soon, the entire army followed, beginning to tie up the many fighters with their weapons on the ground, faces filled with sadness at their loss.
"So all it took was their leader dying. Normally it should take a few more dead soldiers or a destroyed stronghold. Suppose this world is easier than expected in terms of war. Wonder if there are stronger forces than this." Cadin looked around at his accomplishment. Without the advisors, he was the sole leader of the remaining army, now taking in the fighters as prisoners of war.
"Once you are done, bring out the prisoners to the outside so we may return, we will return here after all of this." Cadin spoke.
Minutes pass and the soldiers head out of the camp, escorting prisoners nearly similar in number or more.
After all had gathered outside, Cadin stepped in front of them all.
"The other advisors have been killed, as the last and final advisor of this army, I shall lead us back home with a great bounty to give to our people. Our campaign ends now, with great treasure and prisoners to bring to our tribes. Now, it is time we march back home, our people await us with joy and celebration."
The battles, the campaign, and the struggle is now over. The army left the camp, marching through thick forest and back onto the main pathway. Above, the sun was already nearing the horizon.
The first glint of orange soon donned on the earth, hitting the men as they marched closer to their homes.
Cadin smiled while he led in front.
"Without them, and being the sole leader of this army, I will gain more power, now without restriction, without fear of death nor treachery anymore." Joy overcame him, still smiling at the success of his plan and the success of the mission.
Time passed by, their army was filled with overwhelming joy as well, happy at the glory of victory and the bounty they're escorting.
In an hour, they arrived back at the camp, the tree's leaves moved with the wind as a cold breeze hit them all.
With the army behind him, Cadin entered inside the opened gate. The leader waited in the middle, his face turned puzzled upon only seeing Cadin.
"Where are the rest?"
"They were all killed, my lord." Cadin responded in a cold tone.
"All of them?"
"Yes, my lord."
The leader looked behind Cadin, seeing the soldiers with their prisoners.
"Great work, perhaps I may let you oversee or be an advisor of that fishing camp after all of this." The leader remarked.
"Thank you my lord."
After talking, the leader walked to the soldiers and their prisoners, leaving the gate to see them all.
Cadin looked behind, accomplished, now with a new opportunity, not one set in battle, but perhaps one in expansion.
