Chapter 18 - Less Annoyance

"We should tie up some of them as well, to add some glory to our names." An advisor remarked, they chuckled for a few seconds until reaching the camp itself.

Inside, the soldiers were already at work tying up the injured and downed fighters, moving them away from the camp once done.

A few advisors started joining in on the fest, leaving just a pair of advisors walking with Cadin, they headed for the tents, getting anyone they could find. As they did, Cadin looked around the grass, crude blades were scattered everywhere, near injured fighters or next to the tents, a chance of action struck Cadin.

"Just need to hand these swords to a few fighters, then let them do the dirty work." Slowly, Cadin grabbed a few swords lying around, attaching them to his waist.

"Cadin what are you doing with those swords?" One of the advisors asked, heading out of a tent with tied prisoners.

"Our camp requires more weapons, it will be better if I simply give the swords to the blacksmiths and let them fix it rather than forge a new one." After hearing the answer, the advisor simply turned his head, leaving the camp with his taken prisoners.

Cadin walked by the camp, looking at each tent, in a few of them, small groups of fighters hid, deep fear was in their eyes upon seeing Cadin in front of them. The advisors were walking all around, seeing the other tents.

"Hopefully these ones still have courage." Cadin dropped a pair of blades, quickly sliding it to the group of cowering fighters, quickly leaving after.

"They better understand what to do."

Turning back, the blades were gone, a small smile flashed on Cadin's face, seeking another tent not searched yet.

Passing more empty tents he found one, only a single person was hiding. Upon seeing Cadin, he gasped, moving himself to the wall of the tent, staying as far as possible from Cadin. The boy was young, with fear in his eyes he continued staring.

"Calm yourself. take this," Cadin slid a sword to the boy, quickly kneeling to the ground and taking it before getting back up. He pointed the sword at Cadin, shaking violently.

"If you want to survive, you must kill those in front of you. Good luck." Cadin quickly left the boy, but the plan was not over yet.

The advisors congregated on a tent Cadin stumbled upon, he began rushing to it passing by the scared boy as he continued standing, frozen and consumed by terror.

"Come on, it is only three people, they are not even armed, look at them!" An advisor stood outside while another two wrestled with the people inside, pushing them back while the advisors continued attempting to drag them.

Cadin continued watching. Waiting. Hoping.

In seconds, one of the prisoners shouted, a woman, yelling at the top of her lungs. Instantly, a sword dug deep into one of the advisor's chest, burying deep inside him.

Another prisoner soon followed, slamming the other advisor down, he began stabbing the man until he died.

Cadin and the advisor next to him stepped back. On their left, the boy, once scared, now rushed at them with adrenaline and rage, no longer scared as he ran fast, clutching onto the crude blade.

"Finally." Cadin stepped farther back, the boy rammed into the advisor, sinking the crude sword into his throat, blood soon poured out of the man's throat while the fighters inside continued stabbing the dead advisors, spraying the tent's sides with blood.

The boy stood up, still filled with rage he lunged at Cadin, sending them both crashing into the ground. He drove the blade into Cadin's chest, forcing him to let out a loud grunt of pain.

Hearing the commotion, soldiers and the last advisors rushed in to check.

A soldier slammed the hilt of his blade into the boy's head, knocking him out cold. A few more rushed inside the camp, still filled with anger, the last three inside fought back against the soldiers, leaving them with no choice but killing them.

The last two advisors rushed in, checking on their dead colleagues. Cadin pulled out the blade from his chest, seeing the wound heal quickly after.

"Now, they better think this was an ambush." Cadin stood up, blood covering his chest and face from the sudden assault on him.

"To hell with this! We have lost three more advisors. It is just us three left!" An advisor exclaimed, walking out of the tent with anger, having witnessed the bloodbath inside.

"Well, we have lost no soldiers, except for advisors, camp leaders told us that we must continue if soldier deaths are minimal. We still have one last place to go to, but before that, we need to bring these prisoners to the camps and report on what happened." The advisor calmed himself, explaining clearly to both of the last colleagues he had. The soldiers brought out the bodies of the dead advisors, bringing them back to the formation outside.

"Why did they have to die but not Cadin?" One of them muttered, but still audible for Cadin to hear.

They exited the camp, their clothes still clean while Cadin's was soaked in blood.

A soldier dragged the unconscious young boy behind them, no longer clutching the blade, his tunic was sprayed with crimson after attempting to kill Cadin.

"Finally, it worked, one step closer to riding those annoying advisors. If that demon is right, then i will a better team behind me, or better, one subservient to me." Cadin thought, joy filling his mind, accomplishing the plan he wanted, now only two other advisors remained.

"Let us head back brothers, we have not lost a single man, but we may have sustained a few injuries." With that announcement, they headed away from the clearing and empty camp. Bringing the captured fighters with them.

"Now, what can be done for the next camp, and how will I rid those two?" Cadin pondered, still walking with the other two in front of their army.
