A nice lunch they had as they strolled together in the hallway laughing out, unperturbed about by their environment and the people passing by. "You are something else, how could you do that?" Alvira's hands flew to cover her mouth as she laughed recklessly with abandon.
"You gotta do what you gotta do. Right...?" Carl answered to her with that cute smile of his.
"Yeah yeah, you are right." Alvira seconded.
"Lunch break is over and I need to go now, the boss might need me any moment soon." Alvira said after curbing her laughter.
"Mhmm you are right. You know....it's nice making friends with you Alvira." Carl said. He had already paused his steps, prompting Alvira to do so too.
"Al." She mumbled with a smile.
"Huh?" Carl asked a little lost.
"Call me Al... .It's what my friends call me, and since we are now, I think you should too." Alvira lay out to him.
"Okay, fine by me, then I think you should give me a name too. Right?" He chuckled with this inclusion.
"What?" Alvira asked with funny uncertainty.
Carl laughed lowly, producing a sexy rumble from his throat. "It's not fair that you got a name and I don't. I like my things fair and square so you have to come up with a name for me as well."
His name was a one syllable word, Alvira wondered on what name to produce from it. This was hard, this had to be joke and she didn't hesitate to ask. She looked over to him and he had already resumed moving and she followed along as they took their Time walking slowly to their destination. "This is a joke right Carl? What do you want me to call you Carly...?" She said in a jest.
"Sure." He grinned making her look at him with disbelieve.
"You like it?" Alvira laughed out.
"Of course Why not? it's from you." His grin widen with a tinge of mischief in his eyes.
His tone only made Alvira to burst out in more laughter. She obviously she could see he was trying to flirt with her.
They chatted some more and laughed together until they finally arrived at Alvira's table. "Here you are now."
"Thanks for escorting me back." Alvira said with appreciation.
Carl nodded in reply. "And thanks for agreeing to go to lunch with me." He said his own thanks.
"It's alright besides I enjoyed it as well."
"So....? Next time?" Carl asked.
"Next time." She giggled.
"Alright see you later."
"Bye!" She waved him off with a smile.
"Bye." He grimaced and left, disappearing from her sight.
Sighing loudly, Alvira walked over to her seat. The fun was over and it was time to get back to work. She really enjoyed his company, she won't deny. It's nice having a friend in a place like this which there was nothing good install for her. She smiled and resumed her work.
She worked her ass off till it was past six o'clock, which in the normally, it's supposed to be time to leave by now but not for her. She could see the rest already packing and rounding up to go home to their respective houses and family. Oh no! she totally forgot to inform Kayla she will be home late! F**k her F**ked up mind.
She hurriedly reached for her phone and dialed Kayla's number but her number was unreachable. She called again twice and still the same results. She went ahead and sent a text instead. 'I'll be home late tonight Kayla, I have to attend a meeting with My Boss and I won't be home till atleast nine. Take care and sleep well.' She instantly tapped the send button and the message was directly delivered.
The buzzer on her table rang out rendering her startled by the unexpected noise of it. Of course she knew it was time to leave with the boss. She arranged her files and switched off her computer, took her phone and purse and headed for his office. With a knock on the door, she entered when she was permitted inside by his emotionless voice.
