Seeing that her luck was great and she'd awakened an amazing ability Lucia was satisfied that she had an ability where she would be able to help the group, she could definitely become the groups berserker if she worked hard enough to turn her body into the abyssal flames.
The awakening process took a total of 5 minutes once it was done and she'd finished reading about her ability, the screen instructed her that everyone would receive guidance on the basics of their ability and a month to practice before the first trial began so that everyone had a chance to make it through the first trial.
This made her mood even better as now she was sure that she would have an opportunity to be of help to the team in even the first trial with her ability. Once her awakening was done a door opened on the awakening tube and she stepped out. When she stepped Van, Max, Erika, and Elise congratulated her while Elise was the next to go into the tube.
Elise chose not to have her ability announced as it was good to hide your cards from your ability, and she also recieved the notification saying she'd be guided on the basic's of her ability. Like this Max and Erika also stepped into the tube revealing Erika's hive mind ability, and Max's spatial affinity while they too recieved the notification about basic guidance.
Finally it was Van's turn to step into the awakening tube he expected it to go the same as Elise, Erika, and Max however he was surprised to find out that he had an opportunity to awaken an ability like Lucia had.
He wanted to do an epic awakening because he wanted to be as over powered as possible but hearing what he was thinking and knowing what he was about to do the system said…
[I suggest the low chance awakening, you already have a lot of high grade abilities it would be best if you had a simple amplification ability to make all your other abilities stronger, also it will provide balance because your current skills have such high entry ceilings that you wouldn't be able to effectively use them without draining yourself entirely.]
Hearing the systems explanation Van couldn't refute the logic behind it, also low grade abilities weren't always bad especially if the ability paired well with his current skills it might even be better than another overpowered ability.
With all of this in mind Van selected the low awakening, the awakening soon filled with the goo material that also sunk into Vans pores muscles bones and organs, however it didn't hurt at all compared to what Lucia went through. After awhile the goo started to drain into the vents in the floor of the tube.
Once the goo drained van saw on the screen, [Van Magnus, awakened super speed: triples the speed of the ability bearer indefinitely allows for three times faster thinking speed metabolic speed all the way to physical speed.]
Seeing this Van could only think 2 words about himself… 'Speed Demon' so many of his skills and abilities granted him passive speed boost he felt like there was probably nobody in his age group that could keep up with his speed unless they were just a monster but how many monsters would be walking around or even exist?
He decided to have his ability announced since it was a good way to mislead people into thinking his ability was subpar. Still there weren't very many people that would even want to fight anyone with the ability of super speed, it was like trying to swat a demon lord level fly nobody wanted the headache of a one versus one against a speedster unless they were psychotic or a masochist speed literally kills and if not you can't beat something you can't touch.
When max exited the awakening tube his group looked at him like a monster especially Elise because she knew how much of a speed boost he was receiving from the combination of all his skills including his bloodline.
What surprised the group even more was the fact that they all knew he already had an ability why hadn't the awakening tube noticed any of his abilities.
It even made max more stumped as he asked the group out loud, "If he already he awakened abilities and still got a new one does it mean the machine didn't recognize his previous abilities… and if that's the case it means it must know something about ours for it to be able to recognize out abilities." He said with a thoughtful expression.
He didn't say a lot but it was enough to send the groups minds into deep thought. Where did abilities come from? How was this machine able to grant them, and how was it able to train everyone on the basics if so many different abilities.
