The group continued to walk closer and closer to the awakening tubes while also listening to Elise tell them everything she knew about the Labyrinth. In their conversation they came to know many more things about the labyrinth like first, the names on the ranking list weren't individual participants they were actually groups and factions underneath these people however only their name was listed because they were the leader of those factions and groups.
They also learned after the first trial ended, they would get an opportunity to establish their own faction or apply for an already established faction. It was always good to be apart of a faction because the further your faction progressed the more benefits and rewards you would receive. The only bad thing about those just entering the Labyrinth joining an already established faction was that once you were in a faction you could only team up with those in your faction or allied factions.
It was seldom that factions would form alliances but it wasn't a complete non-occurrence there were al kinds oof political disputes going on within the labyrinth as it was essentially a world of it's own. They also found out that there were even cities where people would stop progressing through the labyrinth to instead live a peaceful life. Most faction would expel members who choose not to continue progressing through the labyrinth as they needed numbers of participating people to cover the amount of casualties faced in trials.
After hearing and learning about this it was finally Van's groups turn to step inside the awakening tubes. When one went inside the awakening tube they had the option to let their ability be known to the people waiting outside the tube or to keep it private and to themselves.
Since everyone knew their ability except Lucia the invited her to go into the awakening tube, She decided to have it announced to those outside which the group was fine with because they didn't really expect her to awaken a mind-boggling ability since she was being awakened artificially instead of naturally.
She stepped into the tube that had a glass floor with small vents around the circumference of the tube, inside the tube a screen appeared with a few options and some descriptions of the types of awakenings.
(Awakening Master: Here you will be able to awaken the ability you will get to use for all of your life. You may select from low to epic awakening, however you must know that low has the lowest level of pain while epic has the highest levels of pain where death is possible due to the sudden shock to the brain. Also, even if you choose the low grade awakening you still have the cance to awaken an epic ability however the chance is exponentially smaller. If you already have an ability place your hand into the handprint to your left to have your ability and genes analyzed.)
Seeing this screen and the options Lucia wanted to do the epic awakening after hearing about the others insane abilities but hearing that she could possibly die from it made her shudder and decide against it. Eventually she decided to choose one level up from the medium awakening right below the epic awakening.
After selecting this option, the vents at the glass floor of the tube began to fill the tube with a thick bluish green goo that quickly filled the tube. Surprisingly Lucia was able to breathe in the goo however the pain that the goo caused was no laughing matter. If it were to be described, it would be described as the jaw locking pain of having your skin burned of your body alive. the goo began seeping into the pores of her skin causing her to scream in pain.
The goo continued to seep deeper into her bones and her pores until she couldn't take the pain anymore and passed out. After an unknown amount of time she regained consciousness when a cooling and rejuvenating sensation washed over her and she heard the announcement, "Demi-god level abyssal flames has been awakened."
This announcement caused a lot of the people present to turn their eyes to the awakening tubes as it was fairly rare for someone to awaken abilities of that level, if she survived the first trial it was likely very few factions that wouldn't accept her into their group.
A screen appeared in front of Lucia with a description of the abyssal flames, (Flames that consume anything they come into contact with aside from space itself and rage flames, there are a few other high level abilities that can counter abyssal flames however abyssal flames are the most versatile of any fire ability. At a higher-level users would be able to turn their body into abyssal flames making them intangible to most attacks.)
