"I honestly think this situation may be more dangerous than being prisoners at the orphanage." Lucia said as she had noticed the serious and hardened expression the people that weren't from the orphanage had.
Seeing Lucia looking around at the many different beings Van, Max, and Erika too noticed how every being that was there looked as though their entire bloodline was murdered and they held the deepest vendetta that even death wouldn't be able to stop.
"Maybe we should try to get some information from one of the people here." Max suggested, he was accustomed to getting information about his surroundings from public conversations.
However he noticed here outside the almost 12,000 orphans most of the other people participating in the labyrinth were keeping to themselves thoroughly inspecting all the other participants.
After looking around for a bit Erika saw an elf girl with a gentle face that seemed without a care in the world as she giggled at the talkative bunch that just arrived making all those that were extremely tense agitated.
She had a phone in her hand which she used to take pictures of all the participants. Van's group had just started making their way towards her and she noticed the group coming in her direction through her camera.
She put down her camera and looked at the group with an amused expression, and decided to meet them halfway.
"What's up you guys want to talk?" The elven girl asked the group surprising them that she was so keen.
"Yea we wanted to ask you what's up with this place why does everyone here look like they're ready to fight to the death?" Max asked as he was the best with high level conversations, he opened his own resturaunt and negotiated partial ownership of an entire city.
The question gave a fair surprise to the elf girl, as far as she knew the labyrinth was a big deal everyone should have heard of it especially if the fortunate or unfortunate enough to arrive.
"I see… you guys were brought en masse and only told about the classifications of abilities." The elf girl said this time surprising Van's group of 4 as they were sure they didn't disclose what had happened to her.
Seeing their confused and expect and faces the elf girl smiled and put her hand out, "My name Elise
Lovren, My ability is all seeing eye I can look into people's past or future I can also see everything about them like their abilities, strengths and weaknesses."
Hearing this Van and Max frowned this meant the girl already knew everything about their abilities. Now depending on the circumstances they either took her into their team or the dispatch her.
Seeing Van and Max taking a more defensive stance Erika took the lead shaking Elise's hand, "My name is Erika, and these are my friends Van, Max, and Lucia. It's nice to meet you I'm sure you're already aware of what we can do."
Van and Max We're relieved that Erika took the lead her ability was without a doubt the best counter for this Elise's ability so now if she ever tried anything Erika would already know about it since all it took was contact and the activation of her ability and Elise's was just as much Erika's hostage as everyone else Erika touched.
Elise smiled even brighter knowing Erika would shake her hand but thinking it was because they had planned her to be their groups mentalist with her hive mind ability, also she knew that the group now had no choice but to let her join their group because she had vital information on any and everyone she laid eyes on.
"The trials here vary but it's well known the first trail is always a battle royale. They will have us all battle until there are only a certain number of contestants remaining or a certain amount of time passes." Elise said as lighthearted as ever like her survival was guaranteed.
But Van and the groups faces became even more Grim they had just escaped one deadly situation through sheer luck and now they were being placed in an even deadlier situation.
"Can I join you guy's team? By the way who's the leader of your group?" Elise asked seeing the group fall into deep thought.
Hearing this Van and Max eased up a bit as this was the better option to have the unknown with information about them on their team had she been allowed to walk free and team up with someone else there was no telling the calamities that she could bring towards the group.
Erika and Max looked at van as the leader while Lucia looked at Erika because she also didn't know who their groups leader was. Seeing his 2 friends automatically making him the leader Van cursed his luck wasn't Max better suited to be the leader of the group.
After seeing he was the leader of the group Van responded, "Yea why not your ability would definitely come in handy." Van said as he went back to his train of thought thinking about his group composition according to the ability classes as defined by the man in the suit that appeared on stage at the orphanage.
He saw his group as having many hybrid roles, and strong main roles. He saw himself fitting into the all rounder category, Erika being a top tier mentalist, Max would also be able to be a fairly decent all rounder but mainly be either a mage or scout, While Elise could join as a scout/mentalist. They had yet to find out Lucia's ability but they would soon find out as the line was quickly shortening.
