The city was everything Evelyn thought it never would be. There were roads, buildings, cities, small shops, etc . Everything was like the human world but at the same time different.
Everywhere in the city was clean. There were large trees that divided the roads into lanes. The trees had a large canopy that provided shadows to the side pathways.
As the pathways was covered with stones, they were cold as she walked barefooted. At first she removed the shoes to feel the ground. But then she liked the feeling of it. So she continued without one.
What shocked the three of them was the road. There were no traffic. She would only see a glimpse of tha cars, as it speed off. So no traffic was there. Even the public transport system she assumes is faster than normal.
"It's my first time seeing a city without traffic and noises," Aaron said as they agreed with him.
Only few people were walking in the pathway except for them. She didnt knew why
The clothing style was just like in the human world. But she saw some wear cloaks of different colours. They had somewhat weird dressing styles.
"Let's grab something to eat" Evelyn said as they only had breakfast in morning.
The bell ringed indicating the arrival of customer. The few seats were filled with customer. They took the four seated table with each chair on each side.
Evelyn sat facing the window, while Aaron sat with his back facing the window while Ryan took the seat on the side.
Soon a woman came with a tabloid to take orders. As they were not similar with food they asked them to pick the best in here.
As they sat in silence, Evelyn was enjoying the view outside. More than enjoying studying. Rhy had also tilted his head on side to view the outside.
Her gaze was fixed on a man, he was walking simply with a bag in his hands. He wore a shirt and pants. As he was walking suddenly he tilted his head like listening to something. Then he tilted his head and nodded like saying no. The next second he disappeared in thin air
"What the fuck!" The voice echoed in the silent room. It was not just her voice. Her surprised voice was mixed together with a masucline voice of Rhys.
They both stared at each other in disbelief. They couldn't believe their eyes.
As hearing buzzing about something outside, Aaron's eyes went to the window outside. But he didn't see anything usual.
"What was that?" He asked
"No idea" she said as the shock remained in her face
"What happened?" Aaron asked
"Dis…appeard ..inn thin air" Ryan said.
"What? What are you even saying"
"A man just disappeared in thin air." Evelyn said
"What?" Aaron asked as if he felt both of them were going crazy.
"Yes he just.." she used her snapped her fingering creating a click sound " and disappeared just like that"
"Are you crazy?" Aaron asked
Ryan squeezed Aaron and Evelyn's hands at the same time. As they gazed at him, his eyes were focused somewhere else. As they followed the site they were shocked to see.
A people who was seated two or three seats away from them had disappeared in thin air. Last man had been waiting for the bills, after paying it he disappeared just like that.
Then a man appeared all of a sudden with a tray in his hands. And cleaned the table faster than any human would do. Then disappeared again.
Everything happened within seconds making three of them remain in shock.
He reappeared in the open kitchen of the cafe. The woman who had came to take order was standing in the kitchen observing them. She said something to the boy, it looked like she was scolding them. He looked at their way and had a startled look.
'Oops' he mouth moved like that.
Evelyn would feel that the lady knew who they were. And was scolding the boy for what he did.
Their mouths had touched the ground. It was something that they have never seen or heard. Even Evan never talked about it.
Is it power? Like in marvel movies?
Evelyn understood one thing she didn't knew anything about this world. Anything at all.
After a few more minutes the lady came with food for the three. She walked at a normal speed like humans
She placed the food on the table.
"I'm sorry for that. It was the same expression I had the first time I saw it." She said in a sweet apologizing voice.
"So you are not one of them"
"No, i am a human" she said as she chuckled.
"We never thought we would come across them." Evelyn said in amusement.
"What was that?" Aaron asked
"Some have powers, so they just use it on a daily basis."
"Power?"
"Don't mind them"
"Humans are safe here. I have lived here for twenty years but none of them had ever attacked me or treated me badly"
"How did you get her?"
"I fell in love with one of them. So I moved back here."
"Fall in love?"
"Yes"
"You should enjoy the food first before it gets cold"
They sat in silence and enjoyed the food. The taste of food had taken her mind away from the shock. The food was something she had never had in their life.
They were different flavours that burst in her mouth. She couldn't pinpoint which flavour it was. All she would do was sit and enjoy it. All worries were thrown out of the window. She even forgot that she was a human in an unknown world.
As she gazed at both of them, they were just like her savoring the taste.
As they were leaving, they went to talk to the woman again.
"Can we just talk?" Evelyn asked
"I know you want to know about this world, since I am busy now we can meet at three."
