Chapter 31 - 31

For one week, he brought food to her three times a day. They talked a little when he came. He had introduced himself as Xavier.

Eventhough she knew she couldnt trust him, he was geniune to her. Everytime he came she asked

"Why am I here?

"You will know it" he could reply

She knew gaining information from him was impossible. He looked genuinely concerned when she asked him about it. There was something going on, that she had understood. But she didn't know what it was.

Whenever he opened the door, she always listened to outside noises, there were none. It was really silent. She had also noted the time he had come everyday as she requested him to give her a watch so that at least she would know the time.

Now she was just waiting for the exact moment to put her plan into action. She knew it would be dangerous. Even Though she had tried to persuade him once it hadn't happened.

All she would do was to have a little bit of faith that the plan will work out.

It was seven she knew Xavier would bring food at anytime from now.

She waited as the door opened and Xavier came with a small smile. His smile was always genuine, she had noted it. He placed the food on the side table.

He had always waited till she had her food. She doesn't know why, but he gave her a warm , comfortable feeling. She had a feeling that he wouldn't hurt her.

As he placed the food on the table, she struck him. As if sensing her motions he blocked her.

She looked shocked in his eyes. She knew he had the power to teleport, so without wasting time she kicked him between his legs. He groaned in pain

"Fuck" he cursed as he palmed.

"Sorry" she said and ran to the door. The door was unlocked.

The door welcomed her to the hall. The hall was empty as if there was no one. As she looked around she realised she was on the first floor.

The staircase was at the end of the hall. She ran. As she reached the ground floor she searched for the door. The door was locked, as she thought. She searched for other ways to escape.

Window

She tried to open the window, but for her luck the window was opened. She jumped through the window and looked around for anyone. But there was no one.

She looked around she had two options there was thick forest on side of the house or the pavement that leads to the road. She took the first one.

She ran into the the dark forest without caring much. Her heart was beating in her ears. Her whole body was aching from running. She haven't looked back once she had entered the forest. She would feel the sharp twigs cutting her bare foot.

She doesn't know how long she had run. The forest became darker. She knew she was in the deeper part of the forest. Thick trees. Leaves blocking the sky.

She holds onto a nearby tree for support as she catches her breath. She dropped onto the ground. She took and looked at her feet that had been bleeding. She pulled out the twigs and stones. She would feel the stinging sensation.

Her throat felt dry. Her limbs felt like they were boneless. Her breath was still ragged.

She rested her head on the tree, and closed her eyes. She tried to focus on her breaths. She took deep breaths to calm herself.

As she calmed herself, she heard a sound of water nearby. She would hear the burble of water. She stood unconsciously and walked to the direction where she heard the noise.

Soon she saw the stream of water flowing. It reflected the moonlight. It looked ethereal like an art.

She went to the edge of the water and stood there, enjoying the flow of water. She dropped her hands and felt the coldness of the water. She used both her hands and made it into a cup, taking water and drinking it. She felt the cold water soothing her dry throat.

She washed her hands, face and feet. She lay on the grassy area near the shore. She looked at the moon shining in the night sky.

But her calmness was replaced by sudden throbbing of her heart. She felt panic rising. She looked around to find the source of sound.

She heard a growl from nearby. Then it happened again and again. She saw a dark animal emerging from the thick plants. It was making its way to her.

She screamed. She knew there would be no one who would save her. She was all alone in a dark forest.

She looked at the animal, she had never seen something like this. It looked like a wolf but twice the size of a lion. And its fierce golden eyes were looking at her like she was a prey.

'Was it going to be my end? Will I die in the hands of a savage beast?'
