She calmed down and continued with the explanation of the agreement, "I will take you back to after the first wave and you will get to choose what power you would like before being inserted into the timeline, and every time you die I will bring you back here and you will have to start over. Your main goal is saving the people of this realm, therefore if you don't save at least one person before you die you will go back without any memories of the previous life. However, for every set of 500 people you save you will get to pick a new power before you are placed back. And an extra gift, on turns that you save more than 500 people I will let you pick what day on which you return to the timeline. " She proclaims,
"Okay, great deal, but can I get some info on the type of monsters I'm gonna face, like are we talking goblins and slimes or are we talking dragons and demons." I inquire,
"Yes, all of those beasts will be present; the monsters start weak and gain strength as more plateaus appear. They start at wild level, and increase as follows, wild level, semi-conscious level, orphan level, party level, guild level, demi-god level, Fallen-Angel level, and finally Deity Level, Your goal is to stop new plateaus from forming before The Great Plateau spawns in only Fallen-Angel level monsters, because once The Deity Level Monster begins its invasion there is no way to stop it. You must gain as much strength as you can before then so that you can defeat the Deity before it can awaken its full powers." The Buddha answers,
"Okay sounds a little overwhelming but if I die I can just come back. I don't like pain though, how bad does death hurt? How can I prevent more plateaus from forming? Do I just kill monsters or is there even more work necessary?" I spew,
"Woah, let's take this one question at a time. Plateaus form in places rich in resentment and envy. The Great City was full of snobby nobles and royalty that stifled the lower classes and created an area prime for the Deity behind the plateaus to take and make their throne and manifest themself in the material realm. A being so unholy it gets itself tied up in the quarrels of man and feeds on the anguish they create. Take these places and install areas for ordinary people to garner strength and allow themselves to live their lives free from the upper class, encourage them to leave and create their own peaceful and equal cities that can rival even the most wealthy armies. Give them the strength to no longer look towards the nobles with contempt but with pity and disgust, the people who only care for material cannot be held above those who take care of others." The Buddha projects as if she has dedicated her whole life to this philosophy.
"Wow, the spirit, the tenacity, the grit, the passion, its blinding. Okay I get it, be a good human and make others into good humans, to dumb it down at least." I add on.
"Now pick your first power," The Buddha commands as a screen with millions of entries appears before me.
