Chapter 2 - chapter two: Life in London

"Good Morning Golda. Hope you had a wonderful night."

"Chirp chirp" The beautiful green and yellow parakeet chirped at it's owner in reply to her question.

"You did huh. Time to get ready for a summer trip in London!" Ellen said happily as she opened the curtains for the sun rays to reflect in her room and they went downstairs for breakfast.

"Good morning dad" she greeted and gave her dad a peg on his cheek.

"Hmm that smells good. Is that bacon mum?"

"Yes with scrambled eggs, buttered toast with fried sausages. Just your favorite. Did you bring the bird with you, I bet it's hungry." Said Mrs. Roberts

"Come here Golda, breakfast is ready." Ellen said as she gently lowered the bird from her shoulder to the table. She poured some poultry feeds into Golda's bowl and sat down for breakfast.

It has been eight years since she and her family left Chesterbrook. Her grandparents usually visit often since her parents were always busy. Her dad was a co producer of the Platinum music industry in London for four years and currently he is the producer of "the Croakettes." He has been very successful and has won two awards so far. Her mum had achieved her dream of writing and producing one of the most successful shows on television for six years. Ellen thought it was a waste of time to be in the "show business" as she called it. She wanted to be a veterinarian but she still loved her parents. She had inherited her mother's white skin, brunette hair and blue eyes. Those eyes which could attract like magnet. As she was having breakfast, a car honked about three times.

"Ellen, I think your friends are here." her mum said

'Yeah I know. But I gotta finish my breakfast first."Ellen replied and continued eating. She then kissed her parents goodbye and headed for the door. When she got out a girl with dark hair and dark eyes like those of a crow with caramel skin and a fixed face stood by a Lexus LC 500.

"You're late,"She said raising her left wrist to Ellen which had a thin golden watch."What on earth were you doing?Of course, feeding that strange bird of yours right."

"Right Jeanette I was. Can you for once give some respect to Golda."

"Don't stand there chitchatting, get your asses in the car." Someone called from inside the car and Ellen immediately sat at the backseat with a pretty strawberry blonde girl with short hair and blue eyes while Jeanette sat on the driver's seat.

"Hey Melanie, how is your mum." Ellen asked.

"Well her doctor is still taking care of her. Thanks for asking." Melanie replied.

They drove to Hyde park where they had a lot of fun. It was their tradition to spend the first week of summer alone. They did a lot of things until they were exhausted and they lay down on the grass. Ellen saw a blonde boy riding in a pedal boat with a blonde girl. Her heart missed a beat and she asked "who is that?"pointing to them.

"Seriously, are you going nuts? Do you no longer know Josh Ryder?" Said Jeanette harshly.

"Not Josh, the lady with him."Said Ellen.

"Oh that's Jada Ryder, Josh's little sister." Replied Melanie.

"Thanks Melanie, unlike someone, your calm nature will bring people close to you. You're such a darling." Ellen was relieved that the beautiful girl was just a sister to Josh.
