Jeremy sat in his office watching images the surveillance camera in Steve's car had captured. Clearly someone had tampered with the breaks of the car as seen in the video.
Earlier him and Tony had arrived at the scene of the crash. They saw Steve already being pulled into a stretcher, some passers-by had called an ambulance. And a bunch reporters and cops were already at the scene.
They followed the ambulance to the hospital. Were Steve was immediately rushed to the ER. Turns out he had a major fracture in his right leg. And there was serious impact between his head and the steering wheel and the doctors were afraid that could cause head lacerations or fractures to his skull or traumatic brain injuries. In any case his life could be in danger. He had to undergo surgery.
Meanwhile the news of Steve being in an accident had spread like wildfire. It was all over the news and on every social media platform. The news even got to Steve's relatives who were all the way in London.
Melissa also heard news of Steve's accident. She felt horrible. She didn't really know him but she knew he was a good person and good people don't deserve bad things like this. She wondered what caused the accident and hoped he was alright. She planned on going over to the hospital to see him.
Jeremy and Tony waited for hours for Steve's surgery to be over. And finally the lights of the ER went off and the doctors came out. They went straight to Jeremy and Tony.
"Hello, I'm doctor Mccarthy. Are you gentlemen relatives of the patient?" One of the doctors asked.
"Does it really matter if we're relatives or not at this moment. Just tell us if his okay." Tony replied coldly.
Doctor Mccarthy cleared his throat before replying " Well luckily for us the fracture on his right leg was just a minor one and he would be able to walk again in few months time." Hearing this the tensed air around Jeremy and Tony cleared a bit. "But we fear that he might have brain damage. We've not yet confirmed it but in his case it's highly possible. We'll keep carrying out lab tests and we'll inform you about anything we find out." Doctor Mccarthy said giving them a reassuring smile and walked away.
Tony didn't know how to handle or react to the news. Steve had been his best friend since he was six. He loved him so much no matter how annoying he got. Tony turned and looked over at Jeremy whose facial expression was as calm as ever. And here he was worried about his friend when Jeremy showed no sign of sympathy what so ever he wondered if he even cared at all. He wasn't done wondering when he heard Jeremy say " I'm going back to Si tech. If there's any news or improvement about Steve let me know. You should stay here I'm sure Steve's family would be here any moment from now, you should be here until they arrive."
"And so should you." Tony replied with annoyance. He was upset and he wasn't trying to hide it. Jeremy should also stay here afterall Steve would have done the same for Jeremy without thinking twice and here he was leaving.
"I know, but l have something important to do." Jeremy said and walked away.
Which brings us back to Jeremy sitting in his office and watching the video of when Steve's car breaks were messed with, at Mr Woods Estate. He knew exactly who did this and now he would pay. Miserable.
