Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

"Hey"Roseline said as she got upstairs, "how're you doing, you look good" Emma said relaxing into a recliner, "I'm fine, mum's fine, my sister is fine with five months pregnancy..." Roseline said without a care. Emma looked at her bewildered, "Marilee is pregnant?" not t that she was surprised Marilee was pregnant but that she had left it till five months, because she had always aborted other pregnancies at the slightest notice, "yeah...." Roseline said dryly, "well I hope she's not still trying to do away with this one cause it's already too late and dangerous" Emma said as she prepared tea die her friend, "I don't know what she's up to but for all I care I don't mind having a little niece that would make me laugh away all my sorrow" Roseline said Roseline said taking the tea Emma had already given her. "I don't like the sound of that, anyway how's mum? " Emma said meditatively, "mum's fine, we finally succeeded in persuading her to see a therapist, well she's doing so now" a little smile spreading across her slim face, like a ray of hope. That was a welcome development I thought, nothing was better than seeing this particular friend of hers smile, "and you know, the therapist is a young cool gentleman" she said smiling, Emma gave her a knowing look winking at her, "I see why Roseline's got a smile there" Emma said jokingly as she hit her on her arm, "so...." Emma started as Roseline drained her cup, Roseline starred at her , "you hope for mum and this guy to kind of get together (fully smiling now) like you hope for them to mingle" Emma finished. "Yeah" Roseline said, "I can't wait to leave for Australia" Roseline said standing up to look around the new antics on picture frames hanging by the wall, "to just get away from everything...yeah " Emma said. "Your laptop's on, I wanna play some game" Roseline asked, "my laptop's always on" Emma said smiling, "yeah why do you always have it on?" , She asked as they went to the room, "I'm working on a website" Emma said. "Hope it's not that dating website again,"Roseline asked with an awful look on her face.

It wasn't long to get Emma set up her laptop for the video game, she just hoped it would give her some peace, she looked over at Roseline who was busy with her phone, "Roseline come play the video game" Roseline looked at her, "you know what?" She said standing up slowly, Emma turned around, "I'll rather sleep" she said letting herself fall to the bed and in few minutes she was snoring aloud. Emma sighed and left the house on seeing Roseline fast asleep, she meant to get some groceries from the grocery store but remembering an old woman from Korea who had just moved into their neighbourhood recently, she diverted to greet her. She strode into Mrs Dali's courtyard, "was just passing by and thought I should greet you" Emma said smiling, she had such love for old people, "oh dear, thanks for coming by" Mrs Dali said, "you know we're neighbours now so anytime you need my help just call for it" Emma said, the woman looked up at her pleased, "you know my son has joined me here too" Emma looked around nervously, 'why must it be a don't she thought, "is he around?" she asked, "oh no, he got a job here which was why we moved here" the woman was saying. Emma looked into the lonely street, surely bored of what the woman was saying. "Come let me show you some things I got from Korea" the woman said leading her by the hand. "Korea is such a great place you know....". Emma soon forgot she needed to go to the grocery store and soon mum came looking for her.

"You always forget yourself" mum said angrily as they both left for the grocery store, Emma sighed, 'I always forget myself...' Emma sighed again, bitting her lips hard.
