Ax Farrel is one of the Billionaires in our town. I didn't expect to meet him like this. What would be his reaction when he finds out that the person he's been trying to sign a contract with is standing in front of him? But what to do? He's pointing a gun at me. Think Rubi, think. Even with his lean face and clothes full of blood, he still looks handsome. It will be expected if ladies cling to him like glue. He had an Ivy League cut and scythe-shaped eyebrows. His Grecian nose and half-dome cheekbones sat above a concrete jaw. His Titan's shoulders were part of his muscular physique.
People are being heard shouting outside, which makes Ax panic. "Move around the counter, now!" He ordered while waving the gun in his hand. I moved to the counter while my hands were in the air. Ax followed me from behind, limping due to the wound on the side of his stomach. He gestured for me to sit down and hide behind the counter. We sat down and waited for the shouting outside to subside.
It became quieter outside, so I decided to stand up. I thought of acting like a victim, but I saw Ax was about to pass out when I was about to talk. His breathing became heavy, and a lot of blood was on the floor. Ax started biting his lip to make himself stay awake, and I crouched down in front of him in a hurry.
"Hey, stay with me," I said, lightly slapping his face. "Stay with me," I repeated. "Shit!" Ax was about to pass out, and I moved into his other side and grabbed his hand to put around my shoulder. I started dragging him to our staff room to look at his wound.
I managed to drag him to the staff room and lay him down on the bed. I ripped his shirt wide open and began to examine his wound. It's deep. I rushed upstairs to get my medical tools and returned to the staff room as soon as possible. I prepared and sterilized the tools, and I also prepared the cloth and warm water for the use of wiping him.
I wiped the blood to see the wound more clearly. I put some cloth in Ax's mouth to keep him from biting his tongue before I pour some alcohol into the wound. Ax keeps on shouting and grips the side of the bed with all his strength. His eyes grew big, and you could hear his muffled screaming.
I picked up the scalpel and gulped while looking at the wound. I calmed myself and controlled my breathing. I started cutting Ax's wound's sides to open it up more. When the size was okay for my tools to enter the injury, I dropped the scalpel in the basin where I sterilized the tools. I wiped the sweat on my forehead and started wiping the blood in the wound. After cleaning the injury, I picked up the bullet forceps in the basin.
I entered the forceps in the wound and moved it slowly until I heard the metal and felt it through the forceps. I removed the bullet from the body and put it in another basin. I wiped the injury again to clear my view of the wound. I poured some alcohol into the injury, and once again, Ax's eyes grew wide, and he started shouting, but thanks to the cloth in his mouth, you could only hear his muffled voice.
I wiped the blood in his wound again and picked up the tool for dressing the wound. After closing the injury, I poured some alcohol for the last time and wiped his wound to be cleaned. Making sure the injury was now clean, I started wrapping bandages in his wound through his body.
Now that the wound is currently treated, I can finally relax. I cleaned everything that I used earlier for treating Ax's injury. Feeling tired, I took a bath and changed to clean clothes. I finished changing when I decided to go back downstairs to check his condition in the staff room.
Ax was sweating and was feeling cold. I touched his forehead, and he was feverish. I went to the kitchen to get a basin full of water and a clean cloth. I returned to his side and started wiping his face. I also went and got a comforter to make him feel warm. I sat beside him, patting his sweat and making sure that the cloth I put on his forehead stayed cold.
Ax's fever went down a couple of hours later. When his condition became stable, I locked the door in the shop and switched off the lights. I made my way upstairs to rest when I made sure I didn't forget anything. I went to bed and snuggled into the duvet as happy as a cat in the sunlight, ready for my starry dreams.

"Rubi! Ruuuubiiiiiii" Mia knocked hard at the door and shouted my name while I was in the shower. It seemed to be an emergency, so I quickly grabbed my robe and wore it while I was running to the door. I opened the door, and Mia rushed inside, shoving me aside. I rolled my eyes at her and faced her while crossing my arms on my chest.
I felt irritated when I saw her drink two bottles of water. I already knew why she was banging on my door as something emergency had happened.
"What do you want?" I said, making sure she heard the irritation in my voice. Mia quickly sat on the sofa and patted the space beside her, gesturing me to sit beside her, ignoring my question. I sighed in disbelief and walked towards her and sat down on the sofa in front of her. She pouted when I didn't sit beside her, and I shrugged my shoulders.
"So, who was that?" Mia asked, raising a brow. "Don't be shocked," I said, smirking at her.
"Can you just tell me?!" Mia replied, feeling frustrated. I laughed at her and cleared my throat. I looked straight into her eyes and said, "Ax Farrel."
Mia was stunned, and her mouth was wide open. I flicked my fingers close to her face. "Hello! Come back to reality," I said jokingly. Mia closed her mouth and gulped. "The Ax Farrel?" Mia asked, making sure we were thinking of the same guy. I smiled and nodded at her to confirm that it was true.
"No freaking way!" Realizing everything, she quickly stood while covering her mouth using both hands. "What in the world happened when I went home last night?" She added before sitting again.
"Well," I said and started telling her what happened last night without leaving any details behind. Mia asked so many questions, and I answered them truthfully. In the midst of me telling the story, she kept on standing up because of being shocked and sitting down again. After telling her the story, she was still stunned that she couldn't find any words to say to me.
"Now go downstairs and open the shop. I'll be there after changing," I told Mia and made my way to my room to change.
I was in my room when I heard the door closed. Mia must have been able to calm herself down and decided to go down. Well, I did tell her to open the shop. I entered my walk-in closet and picked the dark purple halter tank top and high-waisted denim shorts. I looked at myself in the mirror, checking if my outfit looked good. Then I went and wore my high-top black converse. After changing, I looked around to check if I had forgotten something.
I went straight to the kitchen to see what Mia was doing, and I saw her cleaning the kitchen and checking her ingredients. I didn't bother talking to her, seeing her work seriously. I decided to check the condition of Ax Farrel. I don't want someone dying in my shop, especially if that someone is the person I worked hard saving.
I saw that there was a basin full of water and a used cloth beside the bed of Ax. Mia must be the one who wiped him, seeing his face clean. I checked if he still had a fever and felt relieved when his fever was already gone.
Ax was sleeping peacefully, so I went outside and started working. I wiped everything off the counter and wore my apron. The door chimes rang, and I greeted the customer with my sweetest smile.
"Welcome. What can I get you?"
