Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

It's been three days since Ax Farrel came here, pointing a gun at me. There is still no sign of him waking up, and his fever returned one more time until his condition became stable. I didn't get the chance to check on him this morning because there were a lot of customers today.

I heard the door chimes. I looked at the person who entered, and I could tell at first glance that this man was not ordinary. The way he walks and looks around the shop, I know that he is looking for something, someone. It must be Ax, huh? What could Ax Farrel, the great, do to make people attack him?

"Welcome. What can I get you?" I asked, smiling.

"I'm just here to ask something out of the ordinary," He said smiling, leaning into the counter. Bingo, I knew it.

"Oh, ask right away," I said, faking innocence. "Did you happen to see a suspicious man wandering around here?" He asked.

"The most suspicious for me would be the man in front of me," I said jokingly. He laughed, and I smiled at him. "Really?" He sounded amazed at my joke. "Well then, I won't bother you anymore. Thank you for your time." He said and put some cash on our tip box. "That's for the joke," He added and turned his back on me to leave the shop.

Seeing the customers had all their orders and no one was passing by the shop. I left the counter to enter the kitchen.

"Hey," I said to call Mia attention, who was washing the dishes.

"What's up?" She replied while glancing at me and then continued doing the dishes. "After we close the shop, gather some information about what happened to Ax Farrel. I every detail," I ordered. Seeing that I was talking to her seriously, she stopped what she was doing and faced me. "Is that all, B?" She asked. "Yes, and contact the side of Ax Farrel. Tell them I am willing to meet them on one condition," I said.

"Ax Farrel must be the one who will meet you," Mia voiced out my thoughts. As expected of my right-hand girl. I trained you well. Feeling proud, I smirked at her at pat her shoulders. Afterward, I left her in the kitchen to return to the counter.

Being busy at the shop made the hours go by in a second. I closed the shop and hung the card saying close to the door, and went to the kitchen. "Finished everything?" I asked Mia. "Yes, B, I'll go and do the job," She said. I nodded at her, and she left the shop. When she left, I started wiping the tables at the shop and ensuring it was clean. I closed the lights and locked the door. I was about to go upstairs when I remembered Ax in the staff room. I forgot to check on him the whole day. I was halfway down the stairs when I decided to go back down and check Ax in the staff room.

I opened the door only to see that Ax was awake. He panicked, seeing me, and he started looking for his gun. So he's awake. I wonder how many hours it has been since he woke up.

"Your gun is in the cabinet beside you," I said, smiling at him. He was surprised I told him where his gun was when I should be keeping it away from him.

I walked toward him and sat beside his bed. "How are you feeling?" I asked. He just looked at me and stayed quiet. He must be suspicious of me. He let me examine his wound while staying stiff. "You still need more rest to be able to walk," I said and stood up. I was about to leave when he grabbed me in the arm. "Why?" He asked. He has a pleasant husky voice that makes every girl swoon. I sat again and looked him straight in the eyes.

"What do you mean?" I asked, smiling at him.

"I threatened you, and I clearly remembered it," He said, looking down. Hmm, so he still has a good side in him. I thought.

"It's been three days, and different men came here asking if I saw someone suspicious," I reported, thinking he needed to know.

"Kaizer," He said, gritting his teeth. I see, and it's about his cousin.

"Do you want anything to eat?" I asked.

"No, I still think I can't eat," He said.

"I'll just make you some porridge and get you a medicine," I said. I was about to leave when he talked again.

"I'm Ax Farrel, by the way," He said, introducing himself.

"Rubianna Wong," I replied. I saw him mouthing my name, and I smiled at him. I made my way to the kitchen to cook some porridge for him.

After cooking, I put some porridge into the bowl and got some water. I also went upstairs and took some medicine for Ax.

I returned to the room, and I saw him looking for something. He must be looking for his things. I put the tray on the table beside his bed and took his went outside to get his stuff under the counter at the shop.

He saw me holding his jacket. When I entered the room, I saw his face relaxed. I gave him his coat, and he immediately took his phone from his pocket. He switched on his phone, and his phone kept on ringing. He checked his phone for a few seconds and turned it off again. He glanced at me, and I smiled at him. "You should eat before it gets cold," I offered.

I lifted the bowl of porridge and offered it to him. I also gave him a spoon, and he gobbled the porridge. And I thought he still couldn't eat.

I smirked at him. He saw me smirking, so he smiled at me sheepishly. "I don't know how I can ever repay you. If you need something, call me," He said, giving me one of his business cards. "I'm already thinking many things," I told jokingly. He laughed. "Should I be scared then?" He asked. I gestured like I was thinking, "Maybe," I said, shrugging my shoulders.

He drank some water, and I gave him some medicine. "Drink this, and It's very effective," I said. He quickly swallowed the pill. "Can you move?" I asked.

"A little," He said, holding his wound. "Come, let's go upstairs to my place so you can be more comfortable," I offered. "You live here?" He asked, shocked. "That's what you're curious about?" I said, raising my eyebrows. He shrugged his shoulders and tried to sit down. I guided him and put his arms around my shoulders. I dragged him upstairs slowly and then put him in my guest room in front of my room. "You can stay here and rest. My room is just in front. Call me if you need anything," I said. He nodded and adjusted himself in bed. After checking that he was comfortable and relaxed in bed, I made my way to my room.

I was about to take a shower when my phone rang. I looked at my phone, and Mia's name was showing. "Whats up? Got anything?"

"Yes, I'll give you the information first thing in the morning, and I just finished talking Ax's side. They said yes to our condition and will contact us for further details," She reported.

"I see. Good work," I said and dropped the call. I threw my phone on the bed and went to the bathroom to take a bath.

I smell money
