Chereads / Fallen for the Forbidden Alpha / Chapter 4 - 4. Abducted

Chapter 4 - 4. Abducted

Evelyn stood at the hallway of her school, waiting for the bell to ring to find her way into the crowd. Oscar had dropped her here half an hour ago and since then she was waiting patiently for the crowd to scatter. They were loud. It was always loud here but today her voice seemed to have been suppressed by their chattering, just like it happened back there at her house.

William didn't think it necessary enough to consult her about her mating and that was stinging her as if someone was constantly poking a needle in her skin. She wondered why he didn't love her; she had always been nothing but obedient and respectful towards her father. She wondered that when she was six, when her father brutally barked at her for a silly mistake she'd made and she was wondering it now, when he was going to mate her off to a complete stranger.

'What if he is a brutal psychopath? Or a sick man who likes to torture his mate? Or an alpha who wouldn't agree to my wishes and treat me like . . . an omega?' She shivered at the sickening fantasies taking place in her mind. She couldn't shun this feeling off, this fear.

She hoped she could find an escape through this misery, she didn't want to be that girl to—she just didn't want to end up like her mother. Ever since as a child she'd seen her future in Mrs. Osborne but no, she'd make her own destiny and prove William that she wasn't just some damaged goods.

She sternly decided that on the next full moon she would gain control of her wolf and would not let anyone see her as some damaged goods.

As her grit turned into determination a growl came from deep within her. She was ought to smile at that knowing even after so many years her wolf was still by her side, ready to purr and fight.

'At least she doesn't disgust me.' Evelyn sighed.

Evelyn was hauled back to reality when a hand quickly enveloped her from behind, leaving all of her body in caution. She was familiar with the scent and probably with the overexcited behavior as she twisted back to see the intruder who almost gave her a heart attack.

"Hola Eve!" She hugged Evelyn again as she processed her words.

And then she remembered she was one of her hugger friends, Jasmine. She was a short brunette girl with a pair of ebony eyes and smooth wavy hair cascading down her shoulders. She was of course a human, a beautiful human to say the least without an inner wolf always growling at her.

"Hi Jas." Evelyn struggled underneath her grasp and slowly pulled away careful with her sensitive emotions.

Jasmine always had this wide grin dancing on her lips and a playful glint in her eyes that made Evelyn forget all her worries. Also with her Evelyn wouldn't get even a second to pay heed to her thoughts. Jasmine was a very talkative person and Evelyn's easiest escape.

"You look distressed." Jasmine pouted wrapping her arms before her chest and pulled her brows together, ready to scold. "What's wrong?"

Evelyn sighed. She knew there was no ordinary way to blast this truth on Jasmine so she considered maybe scratching the bandage right away would be a better option. That was the best she got and who'd blame her? It wasn't everyday when you're being arranged to be mated to an utterly different pack.

Evelyn was about to open her mouth to say something just when the bell rang and she silently thanked Moon Goddess underneath her breaths.

"Don't think we're done with this." Jasmine threatened before walking past Evelyn to her class.

'Thank Goddess I didn't have the first period with her otherwise she would've chopped my head off for not telling her!' She thought.

Before Evelyn came to this school she was warned to not let her secret out under any circumstance and ever since then she'd been lying to Jasmine. She was the only good human Evelyn had encountered here and she was pretty nice to her on her first day. Evelyn would love her always for treating her like that. Jasmine was like a mother to her and a best friend who always watched her back—something her family was never able to do. They kept her safe but they could never make her feel at home.

Their colony had a school of its own where several werewolves from other places came to study—they're even developing it to form a university. But since Evelyn had never shifted, it was not possible for her to get into the supernatural school and she was okay with that since they let her come to this human school and live a normal life even though William was against it, he agreed afterwards. And she was able to live a life away from her chaotic family.

As Evelyn made her way to her class she decided to avoid any further interaction with Jasmine for the rest of the day. She'd already revealed too much to her friend and she couldn't risk blabbing the secret out as well. Besides she wasn't very keen on talking about her weird mating traditions with her friend, it was in no way like a human wedding.

So her best option was to avoid her.

She rushed away from her as fast as she could, not making eye contact. She had fourth period with her and she was running as fast as she could in her jeans and heels. She was scared for no reason but the hall packed with humans was suffocating her and she was feeling like a claustrophobic. Evelyn needed to get out of there and that was the sole thing she could focus on.

She was somewhere lost in the throng of teenagers behind Evelyn but she didn't wait up to bother seeing where Jasmine was. If she needed to escape her, this was her only chance and no opportunity would be as sweet as this one.

So she left like a coward, never looking back. The classes were still left to attend to but nothing would matter once she was out of those double doors. She was being paged by Jasmine, her numerous calls followed after Evelyn when she couldn't but Evelyn replied to none.

Leaving her behind hanging like that felt wrong but it'd save her the trouble of revealing prominent details about her life to Jasmine, about her pack. Human learning about werewolves was a big scandal and Evelyn didn't know how much of their conversations she had kept to herself, just like stated before, she was talkative.

Evelyn ran out into the main street and perceiving the empty road she remembered she wouldn't have a ride back home since she hadn't informed her brother about her early departure from school. She sighed knowing her only ride was one person and she wasn't in the mood to talk to her.

The doors behind Evelyn were beginning to open to demonstrate a model figure appearing out of the school. Evelyn ran to her right and hid herself behind the wall and small plants. She had a slim figure so it wasn't much of a task to do. Evelyn just had to stay here till Jasmine was tired and gone back, giving up on her just like everyone else.

Her prediction came true as Jasmine looked left and right and annoyed went back through the double doors. Evelyn let out a relief sigh and woke up from her position on the ground and leaned away from the plants. She was glad that Jasmine gave up otherwise her legs were beginning to ache from the kneeling position she was in.

After standing up, she was a little too much carefree than she should've been. As she was about to turn around and began walking she felt a hand around her neck, gripping her from behind and holding her still in one place. But that didn't go well for the person.

She began kicking and screaming in his grasp. She didn't see the person but from his scent, she could tell he was a man. Her strength was no match for his and she was already tired of screaming and kicking. When her energy died down someone from behind put a black veil over her face. Evelyn couldn't see or breathe properly and her hands were pinned down at her side by a firm grip.

As the weight around her neck alleviated, her hands were bound with restraints and then that someone lifted her off the ground and threw her over their shoulders. She tried to yell but her voice barely escaped her throat. She was in shock as to who would abduct her.

And then the truth hit her like a fireball. She was a princess, the alpha's daughter. William had numerous enemies and no real weakness—except for her, she was his weakness and now she'd pay the price for her father's sins.

They took her near a black SUV and opened the car trunk to throw her in like trash. She yelped and a whimper passed her lips. She was lying there kicking again and before she had the time to process another thought a sharp pain hit her in the back.

They injected her with chloroform.

Her shoulders stretched and then relaxed as her eyes began to feel heavy and her already dark sight became darker as her mind swooned into oblivion.
