Chereads / Fallen for the Forbidden Alpha / Chapter 9 - 9. Almost Marked

Chapter 9 - 9. Almost Marked

She felt blank and drained out of any energy to speak or think until abruptly something charged inside of her and started to wreck havoc the entire place. She swung and threw the first thing she saw and shattered the vases by throwing them at walls.

Her eyes hovered over the broken windows whose glasses lay on the ground in shreds. She dawdled closer to the window in hopes to find an escape but she instantly gasped and became furious when she saw herself high up from the ground level.

She was in a pack house. Locked.

Evelyn was still clueless about the pack she was in and the thought bothered her that she was—perhaps going to be mated with their alpha. She was completely lost at the thought of him. How could he think she would mate with him? Did he not care? Evelyn sought to find these answers too badly.

As she stood in his pack house, locked up in a room where no one would care if she screamed or died, a strange kind of fear took over her. She was from another pack, possibly this alpha's enemy's pack and he'd brought Evelyn to his home. It could only mean one thing. She was doomed. Now she had two options: mate with him and become his luna or die since he wouldn't let her go home knowing she'd spill the beans. Evelyn didn't know his secrets but she knew his pack house and the thought that she might never escape him shook her from the inside.

Evelyn held up another vase of flowers and this time plunged it at the mirror of the dressing table right across the bed. That sound had the highest pitch and rang in her ears for a longer time and might've captured some attention of the natives too.

She hurried her way to the shattered mirror as she heard the doorknob unbolt. It was silent for a while as a familiar scent of lavender brushed the features on her face and caressed her hair. It was the first time she had taken his scent into account and it was mind-boggling. It was strong and snuggled her closely as if it was a stuffed teddy bear wrapped around a six year old. Evelyn knew instantly that it was him.

She hauled up carefully one of the bristly shards lying bare on the cold floor and hid it behind her body. She should be ready just in case he tried to do something unpleasant.

Her eyes widened after taking in his human form for the first time. The man was a giant akin to his abnormal sized wolf. And giant like almost seven feet tall—no one in her family was bigger than six and a half feet so she was kind of struck witnessing such a tall frame. She was certain that she wouldn't even be able to meet his shoulders with her 6'2 height and she was the tallest woman in her family.

Her curiosity mounted higher than his height as she began to unveil other parts of him with her sight. And so far she could tell he was someone who'd taken a liking towards gym. Every single one of the possible muscle in a human being was popping out of his grey T-shirt that looked awfully tight on him. Evelyn's guess turned out right, he was twice her size.

She had to crane her neck above to meet his eye level—which was unlike her. As she carried on with her juvenile investigation across his whole posture, she found out that he was beyond intimidating and wasn't that old but rather a young, fit and handsome alpha in his late twenties. Evelyn wasn't sure though, his looks gave away nothing.

His eyes were a dark shade of forest green matching his wolf's and Evelyn could tell it was a really unique behavior. Usually wolves had other eye shades than their human form but his was the same. He was someone very special and she could sense that.

She was too busy to notice the ticking clock as his eyes began to roam everywhere in the room to inspect the damage. As soon as he saw there were none his eyes traveled down to her skin, searching for a scratch or blood. He looked satisfied for as much as Evelyn could tell but that was quickly replaced by a frown as he began to near her. The strong essence of lavender started to snuggle her body firmly and she endeavored to back away from him just like in the forest.

This man screamed danger with the tattoos that ran down his right arm. It wasn't possible to discriminate them because there were many but Evelyn thought she'd seen a woman's figure imprinted right above his elbow. A slim woman resting beside a big wolf whose eyes was looking at her with admiration as she patted his back. It was a beautiful piece of art, something that could be used to jog a deep buried memory.

"Done staring?" She'd the mind to stare some more but his voice took away that wish. He was inches away from her and she was still craning her neck above to look into his gorgeous eyes. He had a glowing pale complexion to add to his gorgeousness just like hers. None of them possessed the tanned skin of a werewolf; they're even too pale to look like one.

Suddenly his question came back rushing in her mind. Her wolf had already submitted to him, she couldn't let her human self get attached to him as well. So she did the most unexpected thing she could've thought of doing in her life let alone proceed with it.

Evelyn tightened her hold on the shattered glass in her grasp and with all her might thrust it in his direction. Much to her surprise he caught it before it could've done any damage to his gut but a look of amazement was vivid on his face. Evelyn didn't waste any time and geared up for another shot. She started it she might as well end it. She stepped on his foot with her little one and threw a punch across his emotionless face.

What happened? Nothing. Nothing happened to him. He stood as still as ever when Evelyn's knuckles felt as if they're broken into small pieces. It pained a lot and she was certain about a fracture but she kept quiet in awe.

He rubbed his cheek with his palm which she'd barely hurt and an amused smile crept its way onto his mouth. That smile would've been refreshing at any other moment but at this point, it was terrifying and showed that he was cooking up something devious inside his brain, her punishment. She knew the consequence that was going to follow so she let go of the shard as soon as she could and scampered on the bed to reach the other side of the room since he was blocking her front.

Although he was faster and much stronger than her imagination could've fantasize him to be. When she scampered on the bed and was about to crawl her way towards the other end, he gripped her ankle. But what happened next caught her off guard. In the blink of an eye he dragged her towards himself and turned her over so she was lying on her back and facing him, his evil gaze.

He leaned in on her as one of his hands trapped both of her wrists and pinned them above her head. He made sure to wrap both of her legs around his waist after she'd used them to kick him off of her continuously.

Now here she was, straddling him and he was leaning in on her, dangerously closing the proximity between them. And that was when the worst reality kicked in, a reality she hadn't considered before. She was just wearing a pink top that reached below her thighs and white shorts that hid under her top.

She couldn't believe she hadn't noticed her dressing till now. It was already too late. In this intimate position where she was a fragile girl, she could feel her heartbeat mounting up along with her breathing as if she'd run a hundred miles.

His hand ran up one of her revealed thighs and stopped right on her pelvis. She shivered at his touch but it was a good kind of shiver, a shiver of want. Evelyn wasn't scared yet as she felt a flutter of butterflies flying in her tummy. It made her want to make her whole body turn and twist and do stupid kind of things but with him on top, she couldn't even move so much as a finger.

Evelyn hadn't screamed all that time and now at his touch she suddenly lost her voice and the ability to speak. The only thing that came out of her mouth was a pleading squeal as she'd tried to suppress an eager moan. She couldn't give in but her body was acting against her will, on its own accord and that annoyed her.

His forest green eyes were slowly turning dark with lust as he was inhaling her scent. Her scent was acting like an intoxicant on his wolf, a drug he wanted to inject in his blood, he wanted to feel it and taste it. His gums were itching and it took everything in him to stop his wolf from taking control. His wolf wanted nothing more than to make her his. His face was just above hers and his breaths were caressing every emotion that she'd felt at the moment.

She looked away unable to hide her desires. His eyes did strange things to her that she didn't want to think about or admit. His face fell in the crook of her neck and he began placing wet and warm kisses all over her collar bone and momentarily chewing at her skin.

She felt a light sting at the crook of her neck before she violently shook her head to stop him and began thrusting herself at him to get him release her. "No!" She squealed in pain as he drew himself back in an instant. She couldn't believe that just happened.

Evelyn woke up from the bed as he did and she quickly inspected her neck for fresh wounds. She honestly couldn't believe it. He was inches away from marking her as his mate and it wasn't the right way to do it. They weren't even officially announced as mates. There were ceremonies and rituals in her family—he couldn't just bite her and claim her as his. There was a right way to do it.

Evelyn looked at him as fury burned in her eyes. He wasn't even guilty to start with. She didn't know what his problem was but she was certain that she was not his mate.

She noticed his brows scrunched up and anger took over him as well.

She thought what he would be angry for. He was the one to accidentally and wrongly almost mark her and he get to be angry because she said no? Evelyn was perplexed. She would say no a thousand times if needed to get it into his thick brain that she wasn't his!

That thought was apparently too loud to be heard from miles afar without a special mind-link and she wasn't ashamed of it.

"If you kept saying that I'd seriously mark you this time without even so much as consulting you." He barked at her taking her by surprise.

How did he know?
