Freida's ears were so bombarded with the noise of explosions that she lost her ability to hear almost immediately as a result of the trauma. As a direct result of the constant barrage of explosions, Freida's hearing quickly faded away. She was unable to pick up any sounds at all. Not even the sound of people who were in their current state of hysteria attempting to flee the area as quickly as they could.
At the same time, a battalion of soldiers dressed in black tunics and slim pants spread out across the area in order to assist the crowd in leaving the area in a secure manner. They were all armed with swords that had a peculiar appearance to them. The blade of the sword was tapered, so that it was much wider and thinner at the point than it was at its base. Additionally, the blade had a spikelet that protruded along the flat side of the tip. whereas the pommel bore a design that was reminiscent of a crocodile's head in appearance.
"Make sure that nobody gets hurt! Our number one priority is to take precautions to ensure that there will be as few casualties as possible. Understand?" One of the soldiers who had been stationed there and who appeared to be leading the rescue effort yelled over to his fellow soldiers.
Then, at the same time, all of his men responded in unison, "Yes, chief." After that, the remaining soldiers dispersed in an orderly fashion so that they could report to their respective designated assignments within the area to assist the crowd in evacuating.
During this time, Freida was going through a peculiar experience because she was completely deaf and unable to hear anything that was going on around her. She questioned if it was related to the explosions, which she believed were the cause of her hearing loss. And even though she had a tight grip on her ears, she was conscious of her hand trembling as she did so. She wasn't sure if she was trembling out of genuine fear or just because her shocked voluntary nerves couldn't control themselves.
It was getting harder and harder for Freida to understand what was going on in the world because she couldn't use her hearing senses. She could make out how desperate everyone was to get out of there, but she had trouble understanding the jumbled speech coming out of their mouths.
Despite her inability to hear anything, Frieda frantically looked around for shelter; however, she was taken completely by surprise when another explosion occurred only a few meters away from where she stood. It appears that another bomb-laden barrel that had been smuggled in exploded due to the collision. Additional chaos was caused by the explosion, and many people were seriously hurt as a result of being caught in the blast's aftermath.
Dark colored smoke began to fill the air, and as soon as someone breathed it in, they instantly lost consciousness and collapsed to the ground. There was a dark haze in the air. Not pausing to consider the impending danger, Freida bolted in the opposite direction from where a wall of black mist was rapidly closing in on her.
She didn't give it any more second thought about it either. Looking back, she may not have been moving quite as quickly as she had imagined because she was unable to speed up against the dark mist trailing behind her. However, she tried to outrun it, but was ultimately unsuccessful.
She screamed as she kept running away from the smoke, but it seemed no one would come to help her now that everyone, including the soldiers, was running for their own safety as well. The incident led Freida to speculate that the smoke was actually a poison that, upon inhalation, not only robbed the victim of consciousness but also resulted in instantaneous death.
Tears could be seen in the inner corners of her eyes as she ran from the onslaught of the thick smoke. She never wavered in her conviction that there was still a possibility for her to find a way to get away from it, despite the speed with which it was moving in the direction of everyone else.
Freida simply could not wrap her head around the fact that her life had turned out this way. When she decided to tag along with Winona's group on the assumption that they were going to have a good time here, she did not expect to end up in this situation. She now desperately sought to secure her own survival after coming to deeply regret her initial decision to join them. In addition to this, there was no assurance that she would be able to make her way out of the thick black smoke, which meant that she was still in imminent danger of losing her life.
When everything in Freida's immediate environment was being slowly consumed by the thick black smoke, she could already feel her knees shaking, and at the same time, she could feel the effects of exhaustion beginning to take their toll on her pace. If she was unable to flee from it as quickly as possible, she would likely meet the same fate as the other people who were overcome by the toxic black smoke and killed by it.
But as Freida was still in the midst of her struggle to get away from death, which had been chasing her, she all of a sudden noticed three miniature crimson balls that made a direct hit in her direction. Each of the balls was about the size of a cherry. The moment the three miniature crimson balls landed on the ground, a white smoke began to emanate from them. What surprised Freida was that this smoke was able to prevent the toxic dark smoke from settling on her.
Freida was having a difficult time maintaining her breath because of the dense fog that pervaded the area around her. She had been huffing and puffing to get a lungful of clean air. But in the same way that the light smoke prevented the dark mist from passing through it, she was unable to get past it and escape.
Freida was immediately taken aback when she saw a shadowy figure leaping down into the circle in which she was trapped, even though she was encircled by a thick, dense cloud of white smoke that was preventing the toxic, dark mist from penetrating and reaching her. The mist had been trying to reach her but was being blocked by the smoke.
Because of the dense fog that surrounded her and prevented her from getting a clear view of whoever it was that went inside the thick white smoke, Freida was unable to determine whether or not the person who went inside was even a soldier.
"Who are you?" Freida asked.
However, the silhouette, which depicted a male figure, did not even bother to respond to the question. Instead, he crept forward very slowly, getting closer and closer to the spot where Freida was standing.
"I said, who are you?" Freida repeated herself, but she still did not receive a response from him despite her efforts. When Freida finally spoke to him again, she did so in a threatening manner when she told him, "Don't come any closer!"
However, much to her dismay, it appears as though the man does not care what she has to say because he continues to approach her despite his intention to avoid talking to her.
"What part of what I just said didn't you hear? I told you to back off from getting any closer to me!"
In spite of the fact that Freida had exerted a great deal of effort to muster the bravery to issue a stern warning to the man, she started behaving in a way that gave the impression that she was afraid of him. And before she even had a chance to respond, the man had already made his way quickly behind her, shifting his position from in front of her to behind her. Because of the lightning-fast speed with which the man was able to relocate within a matter of seconds, it gave the impression that he possessed the capacity to engage in teleportation.
In the stunned silence that followed, Freida failed to notice that the man had struck her on the pressure points located in the two hollows at the back of her skull. And Freida was knocked out cold in an instant as a result of the swift blow.
