Drew's Prov
Watching Brinley melt from Sklyer's words made me feel some type of way. I couldn't explain it. Anger? Jealousy? Hurt? Two of the three emotions I've never thought I had. I turned the corner so they wouldn't see me and ran my hands through my hair. Skyler got Brinley to open up to him in less than three hours. I on the other hand had her having a breakdown. I couldn't stand myself. What was wrong with me? I was never good at showing my emotions, but I didn't think I was this bad. "Nice to see you drew, how's Brinley been I see she's with Skyler instead of you?" Bridget said to me with a straight face. Bridget had been pissed at me since that night she healed Brinley and I couldn't blame her. I was mad at myself. I let my anger of everything take over and I took it out on her. If I would have continued, I dint know what would have happened to her. "She's just having a moment; humans are so sensitive." I said with a blank expression. If Bridget saw though my words, it could be a sign of weakness. Bridget stood there for a moment and then chuckled. "It's truly sad that you hide your feelings by being a cruel dick." she said as she flipped her hair and starting to walk off. "If I where you did get it together before you lose her romantically." was what she said as she disappeared around a corner. Bridget was right as always. I did need to get in together before I losted her.
The rest of the ball Brinley stuck with Jade. Skyler had to follow in his parent's orders and meet potential brides so his father could step down and he could take his place. I looked at my phone and read the time it was 1:00. Feeding time. As I searched the room frantically looking for Brinley before they announced it was that time of the night Skyler and Jade's father took the stage. "Ladies and Gentlemen thank you all for coming out to the 900th annual ball, as in tradition at 1 it is feeding time, everyone join in grab at pet and enjoy." Bringing her here was a horrible idea. Without having me as her owner she was fair game to any vampire.
Brinley's Prov
As the man said that they started sinking their fangs into the girls' necks and wrist. It wasn't romantic like the girls and I at school used to imagine. The girls screamed as the vampires fed. "Go find Drew Brinley fast and don't make any eye contact with anyone." Jade said lightly pushing me before she sank her own fangs into a guy's wrist. I hurried through the crowd keeping my eyes down until I bumped into someone. "You're not in the right color dress blood bag." The girl said making my blood run cold. I wanted to run but I was frozen in fear. Such great timing for my boldly functions to turn against me. She moved my hair to the side, and I started trembling I knew what was about to happen to me and all i could do was be prey.
Her fangs sank into my neck and instantly I started to scream. It felt truly like the life was being drained out of me. The pain was almost unbearable. My sight started to blur yet before I could pass out, I was snatched and pulled into a rock-hard chest "She is my pet, I dint approve of such a low-ranking slug like you to feed off her." Drew's said to the vampire so coldly it felt like it was -30 degrees between them. "Mr. Starr, I didn't know she was yours forgive me." she said cowering and hurrying away.
Drew led me to the hallway and kneeled in front of me. "Brinley you're going to be okay" he said biting into his wrist holding it up to my mouth. "Drink my blood will heal you." I was truly too weak to fight him on this. I opened my mouth and let the blood flow into my mouth. It tasted like copper but oddly in a pleasant way. His blood made me feel like I was floating on clouds. It was exhilarating but I had to pull away. "Thanks" was all I could what had just happened to me was truly the scariest moment of my life. I was feed off of and it wasn't ecstasy. I buried my hands in my hair and slid down to the floor trying to get the room around me to stop spinning from the high of Drew's blood and my fear. This was only my first vampire event as a pet, and I was already bitten. I didn't want to say it out loud, but I was truly terrified now of my new life.
After the incident I took Brinley home. That was enough of socializing for the night. She was mortified it was written all over her face. If it was my previous pet, I wouldn't have cared I would have partaken in the activities with no question, but it was Brinley. She was too special. Too important to me. I let the hot shower water run down my face I needed to clear my mind, but I needed to see how she was doing. Thank the heavens that my vampire ability was psychic linking. I closed my eyes and concentrated on Brinley. In a moment I was seeing though her eyes. I could feel her mental pain, feel her heart ache and the tears running down her face, but what I felt the most was her want to feel safe and her desperate need to be comforted. She walked to the window and sighed. "It would be snowing already back home I miss it." she said as she started sobbing out loud. I didn't know how much the party truly affected her until this very moment, but I knew I had to do something to fix it.
I got out of the shower and called Skyler. I would be needing his help with this. "You want me to what?" Skyler questioned through the phone. "I need you to make it snow, Brinley isn't holding up to well after the ball and this would bring her some comfort I hope." Skyler went silent for a moment and then finally spoke. "Snow in September it is." I smiled and hung up. I knew at that point I had ten minutes to get completely dressed and to Brinley's room. I couldn't let her go back to her normal life but maybe this would make her feel a tad bit closer to it once again.
