The party had finished organizing their statuses. They looked around, and remembered their conundrum. How were they gonna get past the sewage?
"How are we gonna get past the sewage?" Asked Sheila.
The group racked their brains, until Henry got something. He would just use his [Arctic Sea Magic]. If he used [Frozen Step] he would just freeze the sewage. Henry stood up and walked to the sewage; the other two watched him confused. He took a step out over the river of waste.
"WAIT!!!" Both Eodum and Sheila warned.
Henry's foot dropped towards the sewage, but then it turned to ice under him. He turned his head, and with a smug look on his face said, "Don't worry I got it!"
The other two made a sigh of relief and just shook their heads at him. The trio began on their journey, freezing a path in front of them. Sheila remembered a map of the city, and based off of where they fell, where they were now, and which direction was an exit, she would guide Henry. While those two were doing that, Eodum kept watch with its [Magic Detection]. It obtained two level ups for that skill while walking. Then Eodum picked something up on its [Magic Detection]. Eodum warned Henry, "Wait, at the next left is a monster."
Henry nodded his head and relayed the message to Sheila. She said she knew and that she was about to tell him. The trio proceeded cautiously. The other creature was just standing there, wobbling a bit. They turned the corner and saw a man. He stood there with ragged clothes, his skin green, wrinkled, and damaged. The man swung his head around and revealed the monster's true identity: a zombie. Sheila immediately glared at this undead. This thing was against the natural order, a monster she felt true disgust at.
Henry grabbed a knife and some ingredients and began mixing the ingredients. While mixing, he jumped up and behind Sheila. Eodum charged forth and decided to try out its new magic. It activated the first spell [Gravity Up]. The zombie felt the sudden pressure and fell to its knees. It looked up only to see that Sheila had charged in and brought down her long blade. She chopped off its left arm, but the zombie then went in to bite her. She deflected it with her shield and backed up.
"Out of the way!" Henry yelled as he threw a knife covered in red dust at the zombie. Sheila backed against the wall, and the knife planted itself in the zombie's head. The wound of the zombie began smoking and suddenly caught fire. The fire spread, but the zombie continued to move. It crawled after Shiela, but then Eodum charged and used [Distant Scratch] on it. The aura blades flew at the zombies head, and cut it into slices. The body fell over and the head fell apart.
[Skills: Gravity Magic, Distant Scratch have leveled up!]
"Why is that down here!?" Sheila questioned in disgust.
The god Sheila followed was Gnos, the song of life and song. To her, this zombie was an affront to the natural order set by Gnos; all undead were. She walked over to the now redead corpse. She pulled her aura into her eyes while keeping her eyes trained on the body. She began to see a dark, evil energy still lingering in the body. Then she saw a small wire of energy connecting the zombie to somewhere else.
Sheila turned her head to her companions and said, "C'Mon, let's go sort this issue."
The other two didn't really care about where they were going. While Henry did want to get out, he also had a surplus of food in [Storage], so he could mess around for about a month. To Eodum, these sewers were home, and it basically ruled over the place. The duo followed Sheila, going back into formation: Henry, then Sheila, then Eodum. Sheila kept guiding Henry, and they quickly traveled through the sewers. They did meet a few monsters like the venomous crawler and some undead, but those didn't prove much of a threat.
That was until they got closer to the source of the energy. As the energy got thicker and they traveled through it the entire trio could sense it. As they went deeper, Eodum could feel a presence waiting. It warned the others, and they proceeded carefully. Henry looked around a corner and saw it. It was a heavily armored skeleton with a long sword and tower shield. Its armaments had been black in color, and the skeleton underneath was a dark grey. Henry explained the monster to them and suddenly Sheila's face turned.
"A death knight!?" Sheila announced in a surprised whisper.
A death knight was a tier-three monster of the skeleton. It was strong physically, and had some magic resistance. Eodum took a peak around the corner and used [Body Scan]. The skill told Eodum the same things that Sheila had shared with them, it also said the race as a whole was weak to light: a lamp's light might weaken it, the sun's light might cause it to burn up, and concentrated light could disintegrate the monster. This death knight though, seemed to have an additional weakness, its right leg. If one looked closely, they could see that the right leg was hastily added from another creature's skeleton. While this could improve the death knight, the careless method in which it was done left a weakness.
Sheila began commanding, "Okay, I'll run up and use [Holy Magic]'s [Divine Area]. Henry, you run up and use some of that explosive stuff from before, and tell Eodum to use that [Gravity Magic] from before."
"Okay." Said Henry. He then began to relay the information to Eodum.
Eodum simply nodded, planning to deviate from Sheila's plan. The trio turned the corner, and Sheila's plan had gone into action. First she weakened it, then Henry damaged it, but then it was Eodum's turn. It had used its [Gravity Magic], but followed with dashing at the death knight. The weakened death knight could not fight against the magic, and could only kneel on the ground. Eodum ran up and swiped at the death knight's leg with [Distant Scratch], and it crumbled. The aura claws ripped through the armor, and eventually made it to the bone.
That was when Eodum's rampage started, it tore the death knight to pieces. Bones flew all over, and some were even powderized during this.
Sheila reacted, "What the hell!? This wasn't the plan!?"
"What are you doing, Eodum!?" Henry asked, surprised.
As the two spoke, bits of the powder entered their lungs. They coughed some up, but some stayed in their system. The two humans' lungs began to burn. This feeling spread throughout their whole body. Then two heard a message in their minds.
[Warning: you have consumed a high tier monster. Due to anatomical anomalies, you shall evolve instead of dying.]
And so the transformation began.
