The strange trio walked through the tunnels of the sewers. They had been walking through this maze for about an hour now. Sheila was going in front, Eodum was in the middle, and Henry was at the back. The group had not found much if anything. Henry was marking the walls they went past with some charcoal.
"Stop," Henry said as he froze, "Look at the wall, we've been here before." He then repeated what he said, but in rat.
"Damn, it's like a disjointed maze." Sheila mumbled.
Henry looked at her and inquired, "What's a disjointed maze?"
"It's a maze which has walls, unconnected from and separated from others." Sheila answered.
Eodum spoke up, "Why aren't we moving?"
"Because we've already been here, I've been marking the walls with this." Henry said while holding up the chunk of charcoal.
"Then we go forward and find where we haven't been." Eodum suggested.
Henry countered, "But we need to find a way out of here, if we don't we could die."
Eodum thought about this and said, "Why don't we just go back the way we came?"
"How would we even get back up the tunnel?" Henry asked, slightly annoyed.
"We all seem quite powerful from what I could tell. Why don't we just jump?" Eodum asked, stupidly and confused.
Henry answered, exhausted, "We don't have the physical strength to jump up."
"I can jump up and you could be thrown up by Sheila. Then we leave." Eodum said.
"You're planning on abandoning Sheila!?" Henry announced in shock.
Eodum agreed, "Yes. We get to leave, and go about our business."
Henry looked at this monster with disgust. He had remembered that Eodum was not a person, but a monster. Eodum really only cared about itself, and seeing how Henry offered a buff for it, Henry. As long as it grew in power, nothing really mattered to it. Henry realized he could never place a large amount of trust in Eodum, as the monster would never really care about him.
"What are you two talking about?" Sheila asked.
Henry replied, startled, "Nothing! Nothing, don't… don't worry about it."
Sheila looked at the two strangely, but chose not to think much of it. The trio had stopped to rethink their plan. They were sitting down on the cold hard ground. Not really comfy, but they had nothing better. She looked around, it was indeed familiar. From what she could tell, they looked after walking in rectangular shape. It had a few differences, but was pretty close. She realized that they were basically on an island, separated from other parts of the sewer by moats of sewage.
The three were discussing their plans, when Eodum and Sheila sensed another creature.
"Prepare yourselves, we have company." Sheila said in a commanding tone.
Eodum's tail shifted into its bladed form, and Eodum began to let out a low growl. Sheila drew her blade and prepared her shield. Henry looked around, alarmed; he wasn't sure where the new entity was. He looked down and saw Eodum facing his left, he looked at Sheila and she had been facing the same way. The creature came up from behind them, so Henry was closest to it. He reached into his [Storage] which looked like a rip in space. He proceeded to pull two potions. The creature revealed itself. It was an evolved form of the small spider: the venom crawler. It was slightly larger and had a potent venom. The spider could also crawl at alarming speeds.
The spider glared at their general direction, and sprinted at them. Henry popped the corks off of each flask and mixed them together. While doing this he ran to the wall to his left. The spider charged at him, but he kicked off the wall and went over it. The spider kept charging towards the next target, but Henry threw the mixture at the spider. The mixture was a slight yellow color, and it was foaming quite a lot. The flask arched in the air and eventually hit the spider. With the sudden stimulus, the mixture caused an explosion on the spider's abdomen. It screeched and looked back at Henry, hatred in its eyes. Eodum then ran to the spider and spun through the air like a wheel. Its bladed tail sliced the spider across where a spine would be.
Lacerations covered the spider, and Eodum landed in between it and Henry. Then Sheila began to run up, blade readied. Eodum quickly buffed her with [Strength Enhance], [Speed Enhance], and [Stealth Enhance]; with a sudden burst in abilities, she sent her long sword hurtling down at the spider's behind splitting it. The spider had died and then they all heard the same message.
