Bamel floated in the air and at his command hundreds of different shapes of poisonous mana weapons surrounded babel from all direction.
Babel fired his poison breath at the weapons and at the same time the weapons hovering in the air attacked babel.
Upon contact with the poison breath the weapons dissolved into thin air and the attacks at the front were absorbed by black gem on babel's forehead but babel had no way of defending himself against the poison weapon colliding with his back other than his tough black scales.
It didn't take long for bamel to overwhelm babel with quantity of different weapon and all that was seen on the battlefield was black smoke which was the product clash of babel and bamel's poison attack.
I didn't step up to save babel because I could still sense he was alive inside the black smoke.
Without waiting for babel to recover, bamel fired an overcharged poison breath in the fog and he still had the great amount of mana reserved in his core.
As name implies the external mana manipulation doesn't affect the mana stored inside person's core and thus it was same as having a second core until one has spent all his soul force.
The Beam of poison collided with something hard inside the black fog but the explosion we expected didn't occur and a CRACK sound resounded inside the black fog, soon from our surrounding black fog started to disappear as if being sucked into a black hole.
The black fog soon vanished and I could see the figure of babel lying on the ground curled up creating layer upon layer of black scales.
The first layer of black scales was mostly destroyed but the second layer hidden beneath the first held strong and didn't break.
The gem on the forehead of babel had the little crack probably due to absorbing the poison breath of bamel but babel didn't look exhausted, if anything he looked like overflowing with power.
Babel retracted his body and stood up to look at bamel, the broken scales on his body fell to the floor and a black substance leaked from his skin, which covered the skin where scales has fallen off hardening it.
The expression on bamel's face twisted because he has expected to kill babel with this attack but instead he was only able to injure him.
Babel spit out multiple poison bombs and bamel as once again the fight started between both brothers but bamel soon stopped sensing that his long ranged attacks were useless against babel.
He descended on the ground avoiding babel's poison bombs and engaging him in melee combat where he clearly had the advantage of having big body and extra limbs.
'Should we start our preparation as well?' I asked merlin because as soon as this fight ends, my fight with demon Makia will began and he is not an opponent I can take lightly.

As merlin has stated every living being in this world had dormant aura in their bodies and that includes beast.
After defeating babel and other beasts inside the ruins I had awakened the aura inside my body thanks to a utility spell given to me by merlin but I was not able to manifest the aura to the degree, I could use it in battle.
As merlin has stated aura was the natural enemy of mana and due to my high proficiency with mana, my talent for wielding aura was close to zero.
On the way to ophidian kingdom I have killed many beasts and have absorbed the aura from their body but it was useless in the fight against demons, who had aura equal to hundred thousand units.
The aura absorption ability of ether sword was also handy because but it only shared half the aura with his host, while kept rest of the aura for himself.
But nevertheless it was one of my favorite weapons because of its versatility.
'Your talent to wield aura maybe trash now, but once you have merged with the core of vampire progenitor it will skyrocket and may even surpass your talent for mana.' Merlin said.
'Why is that?' I asked.
'Because vampires have poor affinity for mana and they wield aura and blood abilities which is their innate ability, I have seen many aura users in my life but not a single one of them can come near the vampire progenitor.' Merlin said but I didn't push the conversation further seeing I don't have much time in my hand but it was a tale I will definitely like to hear as how they were able to slay strongest vampire.

I bought Ether from merlin without hesitation and a water like dark red substance appeared in my sleeves.
It changed its form into a needle and pierced my skin to draw some blood.
Upon drawing few drops of blood the contract between me and Ether was complete.
Apart from consuming half of the aura of his opponent, it also had one more condition or should I say avocation that it would eat the whole body of its opponent but not without the approval of his host.
The Ether would continuously to grow as it consumes more and more aura but consuming bodies of his opponent didn't affect it anyway and thus I was curious about where does the bodies go but merlin refused to answer me about the origin of Ether.
