It was Monday again after the long weekend for Angie. She stood up gently from her bed and tapped her alarm to stop ringing.
After preparing dinner, she ate quietly not until her brother came rushing into the sitting room.
"Angela?!" he called searching around the kitchen for her.
"I'm here." she answered.
Dennis heard her voice and ran over to the dinning table.
He looked at her, down to the food she was eating. The food looks so yummy that he couldn't help but smile at it.
"Dad didn't come back home yesterday." he relayed and went to take his seat beside her. He pulled out a plate from the table and starts to dish himself.
"Why are you not saying anything?" he asked since he was expecting an answer from her on what he just said.
"Dad told me he'll be visiting California for some work. He'll be back by weekend." she said and cleaned her mouth with a tissue paper before standing up from her seat, taking her used plate along, she headed to the kitchen.
She dropped her plate and walked to the sitting room to get her bagpack.
"I'll be leaving now, don't forget to lock the door and the gate properly when your ride comes." she said and headed out of the house to where she will board a cab to school.
She finally got to school after 20 minutes of ride due to the traffic that pinned her down but still wasn't late.
Instead of going straight to her class, she took the route to the swimming.
Today she was going to practice since she has been invited to run the 400 meter race which Nancy was unable to sign up for.
She went to the room and met some of her fellow contestants. She greeted them and went over to her locker.
Just then, a girl popped out to her side, smiling sheepishly.
"Hi!" she greeted.
Angie looked over her shoulder only to see a short girl about her age greeting her.
"Hi!" she answered and returned the smile.
"I'm Cora, nice to meet you, Angela." she greeted.
Angie turned her head to her. How did she know her name?
"I'm sorry but have we met before?" Angela asked confused.
"Not really. I just seems to always notice you when you come for training." Cora answered, folding her arms on her chest.
"Oh! That's right."
"Yes it is." Cora said and brought out her phone.
Angie ignored her and continued doing what she was doing.
Just then, Cora brought her phone to Angie's face.
"If you don't mind, do you know her before." Cora asked.
Angie stared at the picture in front of her. It was Nancy pics. "Of course, she's my friend. Wow! She's so pretty on camera
" Angela replied studying best picture she has seen of Nancy.
"I'm glad you know her." Cora said and brought down the phone from Angie's face.
"Are you guys friend?" Angie asked expecting a yes.
"Fuck no!" Cara exclaimed bitterly. "I just came here to warn her through you, you seems cool than her."
"Warn her through me?" Angie asked, surprised.
Cora scoffed and replied, "Yes."
"I'm sorry but I think you guys should sort things out yourself." Angie said trying to get through their chat.
"I'm serious here, girl!" Cora snapped. "Listen carefully. She's getting on my nerves. I don't know why but she's after my man."
"Your man? Who?" Angie asked, too amused with what she was hearing from Cora. It was all new for someone to confront her about Nancy not even to mention she's after someone else boyfriend.
"Well, I guess you should also know him. He's Travis Davis." she finally relayed.
"Davis?!" Angie exclaimed wildly, not believing her ears
Cora eyed her and scoffed. "Are you also surprise? If you're, then give her a piece of advise for me. Thanks."
Angie watched her from head to toe as she walked away. She was too small and short to fight over a guy.
"Was she actually saying the truth since Davis was a freak as well." Angie thought and shook her head. "What a life?"
Feeling all rational for what just happened, she closed her locker and huffed away as she headed out of the swimming alley, back to her class.
"How are you?" Davis muttered and walked passed her, going to his desk.
"What's wrong with him?" Angie asked Shed who followed behind.
Shed shrugged his shoulders. "I have no idea."
"Alright. What a gloomy day!" she thought and also entered her class, down to her seat waiting anxiously for Nancy.
At about 7:30, Nancy entered the class and went over to the seat she shared with Angie.
"How are you babe?" Nancy greeted, placing some books she carried along on the table.
"All good dear." Angie answered.
•
"You mean she said those things to you?" Nancy asked Angie as she told her about her Cora.
Angie nodded, packing up her bagpack.
"She's dumb. It's not like me and Davis are seeing each other." Nancy bellowed.
"It's fine, you just have to keep away from her." Angie warned.
"I will since I have no business with her." Nancy said, smiling.
"Ok, I need to go see someone. God knows where to find him." Angie relayed, carrying her bagpack.
Nancy looked at her and smirked devilishly. "Don't tell me you're going to find your boyfriend."
"If you say so." Angie agreed, blushing hard.
"I knew you're gonna be the best for him."
"It wasn't that easy, I gave in a lot of effort." Angie boosted.
"No it's not." Nancy moved closer to her ear and whispered. "It's because you've fallen for him."
Angie looked up at her and fake a smile. "Of course no."
"Don't deny it baby girl, I'm serious." Nancy said.
Angie wondered if it was true. Has she fallen for him? If yes, does he feel the same towards her? She shook her head.
"No Angie you can't do it, he doesn't acknowledge you." she thought.
"Can we have a chat?" Davis proposed to Nancy distracting the chat between her and Angie.
Angie gave her a go ahead and she signed as she carried her bagpack to follow Davis.
Angie smiled seeing the two together. She wished they finally make it a date.
On getting to the roof top after checking at his department, she still couldn't find it.
He was supposed to be in either both places.
Fortunately, Shed came to her aid.
"Hey Angie! Are you okay?" Shed asked worriedly, sighting her from afar.
"I am. Just trying to check out the environment for Maths." she replied.
"Oh! Lovebirds. He called earlier saying he will be at the swimming alley." Shed relayed.
"Thanks so much..." she appreciated and made her way to the swimming alley only to find Maths sitting on a seat among all the empty seat for congregation.
"Maths?" she called and he turned immediately he heard his name.
"She's the one." he thought.
