Chapter 55 - HIDING LOVE

"Nancy?" Davis called softly as she alighted from his car. He has offered to bring her home after their conversation at school. He noticed she has been giving him cold attitude ever since that night at Blues Clubhouse. He didn't know what he did wrong as he couldn't remember what has transpired between them that night.

He has once called Nancy and ask her about it but she won't emit a word only to say she has forgotten because she was also drunk. He knew she was telling an untruth after Shed has warned him to stay clear from her and not disturb her.

"I know you're hiding something from me but would you please keep it away from our friendship. You know really well that once I get drunk I kinda misbehave."

"No, there's no kinda, you always misbehave." Nancy cut in.

"Yes I know and that's the reason why I'm pleading with you not to take it to heart." he said kindled.

Nancy leaned on the door of his car and watched him say those words. How could he say such a thing to her? He expect her to watch him go around flirting with other girls when she knows how much she craved for him.

"See, Davis there's nothing going to stop our friendship since I'm like a sister to you. I'm not ready to lose my brother." she lied.

"Are you serious about it?" he asked having no idea how his question, deeply hurt her.

"Yea_yea, I'm fine." she sputtered painfully. "I'm fine with us being this way. I'll like to leave now."

"Alright, see you tomorrow." he said as she closed the door to his car and presided into her house.

Though, she pretended nothing has happened but then she was unhappy. She knew for long that he only took her as a sister and have never thought of any romantic time between them. She hoped that one day she will stop loving and yearning for him.

However, Davis knew what was going on. Shed has told him about the night at Blues clubhouse and that was when he gave him the warning that he mustn't hurt her if he knows he wouldn't return back what she has for him.

They've been friends. He and Nancy has been friends for almost ten years and there was no way he wouldn't like her. He even loved her at first sight but he knew she was too generous for him. She was the most adorable, bravest and tends to never give up.

On the other hand, he thought he won't be the best person for her. He was a brat and a flirt. He was someone who never cared and she was supposed to be with someone who cares and cherishes her. He's never the right guy for her.

As he drove home, he thought, wishing she could get over him and move on so he won't be a spoiler to her happiness. He wished she could consider him a brother to her and not someone she loves.

"I'm sorry, Nancy." he mumbled and hit his way to the nearest bar.

The next day|

"Thank God I found you guys!" Shed exclaimed softly, breathing hard.

"What's wrong?" Both Nancy and Angie asked. They'd just finished with their practice and was not sitting by the swimming pool, earning some fresh air before Shed ran in.

"Sorry, I don't mean to disturb you guys. I just needed to give this message to Angie." he shuddered.

"And what's that?" Nancy asked.

"I got a call right now and it was from Mathias nanny. She told me he has woken up with pains in his head and has refused to visit the hospital." Shed relayed.

"What happened, he was haled and heartened yesterday?" Angie asked, worriedly.

"Yes, we don't know what happened. He won't even listen to the doctor." Shed said.

Nancy glanced at Angie, giving her a gloomy countenance. Angie knew immediately what she meant and shaked her head.

"Please." Nancy pleaded.

"I don't want him to get angry at me again, Nancy." Angie said.

"I know but I promise you he'll respect you this time." Nancy assured.

"Respect?" the word echoed in her head. Does he even know the meaning? If he does, then Mrs. Sara and the doctor shouldn't stress themselves over him.

"Alright then." Angie agreed. "But if he does anything funny, I'm going to get angry at you."

Nancy nodded in agreement and begged Shed to take her to the SAH mansion after giving an excuse of having a family dinner.

Shed and Angie ran the stairs up to Maths room after being told that he has refused to open the door for anyone.

They got up and knocked on the door.

"Who's there?" Maths growled from inside.

"It's us, Maths." Shed countered. "Shed and Angie."

"I'm fine, you can leave now." he mumbled.

"We know you're okay but would you please open the door first." Angie bellowed.

Hearing her voice, he decided not be defiant. So he stood up from the divan he was laying on and went to open the door.

Hastily, Angie walked to him and gave him a hug. "Thanks." she muttered.

"I'm fine now, you can go." Maths shuddered again through the hug. He was now affected with her touch which he never knew how it came about.

"Don't lie to us." Shed warned closing the door behind.

Maths freed from the hug and went back to the divan he laid on.

"How's your headache? You refused to see the doctor." Angie inquired, squatting beside the divan.

"I told you I'm okay, I don't need any doctor."

"Of course you do."

"I don't, you don't decide for me."

"Why not? You're coming to the hospital with me." Angie commanded.

"Make me!" he snarled.
