Chapter 52 - COYOTE - 1

|Reels Hill|

"Uvin, you're welcome back home." Duke greeted the seventh coyote, the most hardworking and Duke's favorite. "How's Sierra?"

Standing in front of them all, he answered. "Thanks, boss and I miss Sierra. It's an amazing place to be."

He looked around and bowed to everyone one as respect.

He has just returned from Sierra Leone where he went for a business trip in place of Duke. He left two months ago and now he's back to take his place in the Coyotes.

He was told to take his seat as their meeting began.

"The last operation was a mess." Duke relayed but he wasn't looking like it has offended him. "I want you guys to bring in your opinions, this isn't ending yet."

"Has anything been done?" Uvin conveyed.

"Yes of course." Icons replied and faced him. "The volt has been fixed."

"Oh really!" Uvin exclaimed softly, "That's nice."

"Yeah, it is," Thomas muttered, stealing a threatening glance at him.

"Brother? I didn't notice you. How have you been?" Uvin asked with a smirk on his face.

Thomas didn't answer and looked away, trying his best not to let out his temper.

"The fund files have been hidden," Duke announced, looking from one person to another. Since no one was going to utter any word, he continued. "Those people are also prepared."

"How come they discovered we needed the files?" Uvin asked since their plan wasn't revealed to anyone apart from them.

"They found out somehow." Icons answered him.

"That's weird," Uvin muttered, thinking hard.

"You also think so? I thought I was the only one here" Guns testified.

"We need more work on it. We're almost there if only they had no idea we were coming after the files." Duke said.

"Let's give it a thought and wave your opinions over here, so we can start and finish up this as soon as possible, it's taking lots of time."

"I'll look into it." Uvin proposed and Duke thumped him up.

"I have something to say," Thomas said and stood up.

All of them took their eyes upon the only person who was always a troublemaker. They watched as he strode his way out to stand in front of them.

He cleared his throat and started. "I know this may sound weird, but I think we should stop now before everything take a turn around."

Only Icons were able to speak up as others had already gone into the death of silence. "What do you mean we should stop."

Thomas carefully stroll his eyes on Icons who was looking like someone who was in a hurry to bounce on its prey.

Thomas then turned to face his brother. "If you're not going to take another route on completing this ruthless mission, then count me out of it."

"We never counted you in." Guns finally spoke up.

Unfortunately, Thomas was in no mood for conflict so he turned away and back to his seat.

Duke cleared his throat and started. "For Christ's sake, this isn't what we agreed on when we decided to create coyote. I see no reason why some of us are pretending like we don't know what's happening."

He paused to see if anyone needed to say anything but got no one and continued. "I know most of us here isn't happy with the way things are planned but trust me, that's how far we can go. I keep asking if anyone got an option, don't hesitate to review it to us, it could help."

Duke turned to Xyle direction and gesture to Titans to give him a touch as his eyes were closed, his head placed on the armchair.

"You're not here." Duke said, getting back to his seat. "I know you aren't happy but I want to make you understand that without everyone sharing their own thoughts we should agree on the one we have at hand."

"Can I be the first person to get off this?" Xyle divulged taking everyone by surprise.

Duke had been expecting this ever since the fight the other day. He still didn't want to hear him say it. Xyle has been his most trustworthy friend for long, he couldn't think of losing him all because of their revenge.

All of them kept quiet until Titans spoke up. "You'll be regretting once you leave."

Xyle turned to him and gave him a warming smile. "I've always regretted all my life and come to think of it, there's nothing to regret for. You never knew if all these will be successful, do you?"

"We're going to make it successful." Guns boasted.

Xyle ignored him and warned. "We're going to endanger ourselves once we get down into it."

"You're free to leave." Duke announced.

"No he can't!" Jim, Frey and Icons exclaimed together.

"He will. He needs to." Duke informed them and stood up. "If you're interested in following him, you can leave now."

He looked at all of them, mostly at his junior brother but Thomas wouldn't say anything and just sat down his head bent low.

"I think no one else is ready to go with you, not even your servant." Duke relayed smiling at Xyle.

Xyle returned a smirk instead and made a comment. "I know y'all are disappointed in me. I only need to rest and get off embezzle money away from my head."

"Stop it!" Duke raged at him.

"I was going to stop and please excuse me." Xyle said and made his way out leaving the other's in confusion.
