Chapter 40 - I'M IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH HER

"Good morning girl", Nancy greeted Angie happily, beaming with her beautiful smile.

"Good morning", Angie answered looking dazed.

"Are you okay? You don't look good", Nancy asked watching her friend, sadly sobered.

"No, I'm not", Angie shuttered.

"What's the problem? Yesterday was great right? With Maths?".

Angie shook her head.

"Tell me, did he bully you again?", Nancy asked with care.

"Yesterday was devastating".

Nancy look into her eyes waiting for review on what happened yesterday.

"Tell me something, Nancy", Angie muttered.

"Tell you what?", she asked unable to grasp what Angie meant, "You are to tell me what happened at Maths place".

"About Maths, tell me something you think I should know, something contracting to why he resent people", Angie relayed, icily.

"Don't tell me you want to know secrets about Maths attitude".

Angie nodded, "Yeah, I want to know all of it".

"I'm sorry baby, I don't think you can get that from me. Me and Maths never shared secrets", Nancy tried to conveyed forgetting Maths dilemma.

Angie looked at her with pleading eye.

She needs to know his weaknesses in order to pacify and awake him to reality and here Nancy isn't helping at all, denying the fact that she know nothing of him.

"Is there something wrong with him? Health condition?", Angie asked making her shocked, "Please tell me Nancy, I need to know unless I can't continue with this plan anymore".

Nancy couldn't believe her ears.

Was Angie trying to tell her that Maths gets aggressive because he's not in his right senses?

Then suddenly she remembered his dilemma.

Has she gotten to know about it or has she been given an hint.

She looked at her friend suspiciously and asked, "What do you want to know from me?"

"I just told you".

"Are you hiding something from me?"

"I should ask you that".

"Tell me, what happened yesterday at his place?"

Angie went on and narrate the event, telling Nancy every bit of what happened and how Riley told her there was something she need to know about Maths before she break her relationship with him.

Nancy felt relaxed after listening to the whole story but wasn't sure if she should review what happened to Maths that caused his dilemma without his consent.

"I don't think I'll be able to leak out that to you", Nancy conveyed sadly.

"Why? Do you want me to stop?", Angie asked getting confused on why Nancy won't reveal it to her.

"It's his life not mine and you can only hear it from him not me".

"What are you saying Nancy? Me and you both know he won't reveal it to me. Why are you keeping me in haste?"

"I'm sorry".

"Sorry? Do you have to tell me sorry? I should tell you that. I'm sorry, without you revealing the truth to me then I don't think I can go on with this relationship".

Not only Nancy was hurt with her word, also Angie within her was bitter for disappointing her.

If she didn't know what happened to Maths, how will she be able to conspire with him.

"If not you, who should then?", Nancy asked the most astonished question. "If you can't get him out of his dilemma, who will?"

Angie felt uncomfortable with the question.

She stood up from the couch she sat down on and moved to stand in front of the swimming pool.

She stared at the pool feeling the coolness trying to put Nancy question in place.

Nancy didn't leave her behind as she also stood up and went over to her taking her hands into hers.

She continued, "Angie, do you want to know why I choose you? I choose you because you're someone I could trust. You're naive and innocent, not able to resist helping others. I like you for that. I choose you to be your friend because you have great visions ahead. You're determined and agitated to do things in your power. I truth you Angie, I trust you with Maths. I know you don't have feelings for him but that doesn't matter now and I guess you're doubting him because you've not seen the real side of who he is, how capable of a boyfriend one should dream of having", she paused to swallowed her word.

"Look at me, I'm lost in a world of one sided love. I have been in love with the same person who never careless to me for years and I'm still in love. I'm not trying to say you two must be together. I'm just scared that without you, Maths won't be a better person. Maths won't have the opportunity to get off his past. Try Angie, try to make him comfortable, try to make things easier for him. I don't want to tell you myself, I want him to explain to you what has happened. Please Angie, bear with me and help Maths. I'm very sure that a day will come that you wouldn't regret doing it".

Nancy speech melted Angie heart.

She was bewildered to hear them from her.

Could she be this aspiring?

She turned and they both gazed at each other.

"It's fine, if you won't tell me", she finally agreed, "I'll try my best to get the real version from him".

Nancy burst out laughing.

"Yes you will, even me didn't get it directly from him, I heard by ease dropping to my mom's and dad's chat.

"Really?", Angie asked astonished.

"Yup".

They both burst out laughing.

"Be careful with me, I won't take it lightly", Angie warned playfully as they went into the swimming room to prepare for practice.

"Sure", Nancy agreed and winked at her.

Later in the day, after their last training for the session in order to compete in the final national basketball competition.

Maths and his friend's sat down on the field to rest before returning home.

"Can I sleep at your place for now Maths?", Dennis asked as he gulped down a bottle of water.

"No", Maths answered plainly.

"Don't be like this man, I'm always bored at home. I'm tried of doing late parties and visiting the same hotels all over again", Davis said with pleading voice.

Maths didn't utter anything again and kept silent.

If he had the opportunity to live alone, he would be the happiest person on earth.

Davis didn't have any idea what he's enjoying.

"Don't disturb him", Shed cut in, "Why don't you bring your girls over?"

"Eeeeeew, disgusting. Not only will they mess up my home, they will make my dad mess up with me", Davis muttered.

"So you know they are messy and still move with them", Shed said, smiling.

"I know my way", Davis answered sheepishly.

Then, Shed turned to the face Maths,

"Do you still need my help?"

Maths was confused at first before remembering their chat in the morning.

He looked at Shed and asked teasingly, "Why should I need your help?"

"Never mind", Shed said and bit his lips.

"He meant the help you needed from him this morning", Davis burst in before Shed could stop him from talking.

Maths pretended to think looking at their faces.

Then he asked them both, "Is there anything I should know?"

"No", the two answered together turning their heads.

"I need your help then", Maths uttered watching their expressions.

"You're welcome to ask for our help", Shed said with a strain of smile on his lips.

"Do you know Nancy's friend?", he asked.

"You mean Angie?", Shed asked him back.

"I don't know her name yet but I know that she is Nancy's friend".

"Is anything wrong?", Davis asked with pretence.

"I..., humm..., we are in a relationship", he stammered.

"What?!", they both exclaimed shocked that he revealed it himself.

"I didn't approve to it", he cut in.

"How come you two are dating when you didn't approve it?", Davis questioned trying to pester him.

"It was a misunderstanding", he answered solemnly, "I kissed her by mistake", he finally revealed what Davis was waiting to hear.

"Kiss her?!", they both exclaimed again, exchanging looks.
