Chapter 46 - THE DINE

"Good day sir", Angie greeted Sideon who was walking down the stairs to the kitchen.

"Yeah, how're you doing today?", Sideon asked, trying to recollect her face.

"Very well sir", Angie answered.

"What's that your name again?", Sideon asked.

"I'm Angela, nice to meet you once again".

Then, Sideon remembered her as Maths girlfriend.

"Oh! Maths girlfriend, right?", he asked.

"Yes sir", she replied, shyly.

"I'm so sorry, I couldn't recognize you at first glance", he pleaded.

"Not a problem, sir", she said and asked, "How's Mrs. Julianne and Julie".

"They're good and enjoying themselves", he replied and pointed up.

Angie blushed and asked, "I came for Maths, is he home?".

"I guess so but haven't seen him today. You can go ahead and check up on him, I need to get something for my wife before she gets mad", he relayed and ran hastily into the kitchen.

Angie watched him and smiled before heading to Maths den.

On getting to the door, she knocked slightly on it but got no response.

She then opened the door and walked in.

He wasn't in the sitting room as usual and it made Angie nervous.

"What if he's in a bad mood again?", she thought, sadly.

Just then, the door to his room opened and he came out.

"Hi!", she greeted.

He turned around and stood to face her.

She was on a black shiny gown, a black heels and a red handbag. She was also wearing a make up that made her look cuter.

He couldn't stop drooling at her curves and shapes until he heard his name.

"Are you okay?", Angie asked, bothered with the way he was staring at her.

He only nodded and moved away to his studio.

"Always going from his room to studio", Angie thought and signed.

She moved to one of the couch to sit, waiting patiently for him.

It was not long when he came out from the studio but still didn't utter a word and went into his room again.

This time, Angie was already loosing patient but still kept her cool.

After some minutes, he came out all dressed in black shirt and pant making Angie stunned.

"He really wants to go out to dine with me?!", her inner self kept shouting.

She stood up immediately and went to him.

"Thanks for agreeing to dine with me", she appreciated, joyfully.

He looked at her as she smiled happily because he was going to dine with her.

"Actually, I have a meeting to attend, so I thought it'll be better to use it as the dinner you asked for", he relayed.

"A meeting?!", she exclaimed, surprised at his utterance.

He didn't say anything and went ahead to take his car key placed on the dinning table.

Angie was dazed. She couldn't believe her ears.

"Did he just said he was having a meeting with someone else as the date she planned for?", she thought, disappointed.

He got back and headed straight to the door. He turned back as he was about to open the door only to see Angie lost in thought.

"Are you still interested in joining me?", he asked, cutting her off from her thought.

She looked at him and gave him a weird stare before uttering, "You never told me it'll be a meeting".

"Yeah, I just remembered I have a very important meeting to attend to", he replied all the questions she might want to ask.

Angie felt disappointed. She never knew it has to work out this way. It would have been better for them to have the dinner at home instead of dinning in a meeting.

"Still interested?", he asked again, impatient.

"Not bad", she said, trying hard not to review how disappointed she was.

She took her handbag and stride out leaving him alone to lock his door.

"Seat belt", Maths said to Angie who was already lost in thought again.

"Can you make use of the seat belt?", he asked this time getting her attention.

She looked at him, his eyebrow was raised like he needed an answer.

"Oh yeah!", she muttered after realizing what he said to her.

After a long drive, they finally arrived at their destination and Angie was surprised to see them at Hotel Le Bleu, where she has asked to dine at.

At least, that helped smitten her mood.

She got out from the car happily, looking at the sight before her.

The hotel was as beautiful as she has seen it after her search on the best hotels in Brooklyn.

She watched as people stride in and out, either as couples or families.

It was an amazing sight.

Maths later joined her and they moved into the hotel to where their reservation was made.

The person Maths was having a meeting was already sited, waiting for their arrival.

As soon as they entered the room that was already reserved, Jack stood up to greet the them. He was a fair handsome man at his late 20s

"What's up with you?", Maths greeted and they took an handshake.

"Doing good, broda", Jack answered with a broad smile as he gave Angie a glance.

Maths noticed his facial expression and immediately, he introduced Angie as soon as they settled down.

"Meet...", Maths paused and looked at Angie who was staring keenly at him. "Meet my girlfriend...".

He couldn't remember her name and paused but Angie was quick to cover up for him.

"I'm Angela", Angie said and bowed her head as a respect.

"Wow!", Jack exclaimed softly. "I never knew great Maths has a girlfriend. Nice to meet you Angela".

"Thanks", Angie said.

"Hope you're really having a good time dating him, I hope you understand what I mean?", Jack asked and Maths let out a fake slight cough.

He was already frustrated with Jack questions.

Angie only nodded to Jack and he understood immediately.

Then a waitress came to their aid.

"What would you love to take?", Maths asked Angie.

She looked at him, smiled and answered, "Anything will be okay".

"I will love french fries, a full toast chicken, broccoli cheese, casserole soup and the most expensive wine here", Jack ordered as the other two watched him gleefully.

He looked up from the food chart he was picking from and smiled at them.

"You might need this", he said and shoved the chart to Maths who scoffed and looked away.

Angie picked up the chart and read through it.

"I guess all what he ordered should be brought down in three plates each", Maths finally ordered, his gaze on Angie who was still inspecting the price tag on each foods.

"This are too expensive", she uttered, forgetting where she was.

Jack laughed and Angie immediately realized that they were sited at the most expensive hotel, what was she expecting?

She looked up at Maths and met his gaze. She couldn't understand his expression but knew she was a little bit to getting him tensed.

She looked away and pushed her side hair to the back of her ear, feeling hot all of a sudden.

Jack broke the silence.

"These are the files you ordered for", Jack relayed, bringing out some files from a bagpack and placed it on the table.

Maths picked it up and opened the files to go through them.

He looked up and asked, "Did grandpa really gave these instructions?".

"Yes", Jack answered.

"And grandma never knew about it?", Maths asked again still going through the files.

"She has little idea but not to the fullest", Jack relayed, his gaze back on Angie.

Maths looked up at him and saw him staring hard at Angie then he directed his gaze to her.

She was busy watching the in and out of the hotel through the transparent glass view.

Just immediately, the waitress came to them with two other waitress carrying their ordered food along.

"Yummy!", Jack moaned as he digged into his food.

Angie also started eating silently but Maths kept watching them.

He was already getting tensed with the way Jack kept staring at Angie.

"Are you not eating?", Jack asked Maths when he noticed he wasn't eating.

Angie also turned to look at him but Maths just scoffed away not saying anything.

Just then, an urgent call came into Jack phone.

He looked at the screen and bit his lower lips as he wasn't expecting the call at the moment.

"I need to pick up this call, please excuse me", he announced shoving his phone in the air.

With a swift, he was out of the room.

Angie turned to face Maths who was now looking satisfied.

"So?", she asked, making him wonder what she meant. She continued when he still didn't utter a word. "Now, you won't give me an answer? What do you mean when you said we were having a meeting dinner".

Maths looked at her with a raised eye brow, he still can't get what she meant.

"Don't look at me that way. Was this the meeting you're talking about?", she asked trying to control her anger.

Maths nodded and she huffed away.

"He's so stupid", she thought angrily.

"Are you not enjoying your dinner?", he asked noticing her mood.

"Of course I can't, How do you expect me to enjoy the dinner I thought I'd take as a date with someone else joining us?", Angie snapped and turned on her sit to face him. "At first, I thought it was an urgent meeting you couldn't miss but now it seems like I'm disturbing your peace. I can't believe you ask someone else to join us for a dinner".

Maths kept quiet for some while.

Of course she was disturbing his peace. He don't associate with anyone neither did he dine out.

Though, he didn't intend to have any meeting rather he just needed the files from Jack and asked him to join them since he didn't want him to come to his house. The hotel was the safest place he could meet with Jack.

"I haven't seen her this upset before", he thought watching her pick on her food.

"Would you love to visit somewhere else with me?", he asked, plainly.

Angie looked up at him and asked, "Where's that?".

"The bridge", he answered.

"The New York bridge? Why there?", she asked, suspiciously.

"I need to do something", he said bringing out his phone to check the time.

It was 22 minutes past 8 in the evening.

"What's that? It's getting late", she said, worriedly.

"Yes, you just have to finish up your food quick and we take our leave", he said, crossing his arms beneath his chest.

Angie stared largely at him and back to the food set on the table.

"Can we take our leave with all these not touched?", she asked.

Maths stood up immediately, took his car key and the files Jack has given to him and stride out as Angie followed behind him.

"Who's going to pay for the meal, you didn't make any payment, do you?", she asked, worriedly.

Maths didn't give her any answer.

He opened his car, they got in and he drove out of the hotel.

As they drove through the highway, a call came into his phone.

He looked at the caller, then he connected his phone to the speaker.

"Yes?", he called to Jack at the other end.

"Where the hell are you guys? I can't find any traces of you guys!", Jack shouted.

"We're on our way home, I couldn't inform you since we have to attend to something urgent. You can enjoy the rest of the night and don't forget to pay the bills", Maths said.

"You dare not leave me..".

Jack wasn't able to finish his statement as Maths ended the call.

Angie gave a slight laugh and Maths turned to look at her.

"She's pretty", he thought and took his face back to the road, zooming off to the biggest bridge in New York.
