"Where are you now, Dad?", Shed asked through the phone.
"Be there soon son, I need to attend to something urgent", Riley replied from the other end.
"Be quick Dad, her flight will be here in some couple of minutes", Shed relayed.
"Alright", Riley said and ended the call.
Shed keeps checking his wristwatch for the time, waiting for the arrival of his sister, Kate.
Kate Lennox, Shed elder sister of 3 years difference.
She has been out of state for the past 8 years now, to the republic of China where she went to study medicine.
For the past 8 years, Shed has only been communicating with his sister via internet, using video chats or emails.
Everyday, he dreamt of this day. He couldn't wait to see his only sibling who he always longed for.
Shed paced all around the waiting area as he was impatient and at the same time excited.
Soon enough, the alert was sounded for the arrival of the landing plane.
"Dad, where are you?", Shed thought as he checked around looking for his dad.
Kate being too clumsy and a no nonsense person, has warned her dad to pick her up due to the fact that he might use his work as an excuse not to be there when she arrives.
She knew how her father has always want to put things in place.
She knew he was someone who hates to see things go upsidedown and will go to any extent to fix it up even if it meant him not picking her from the airport.
Why won't he?
She has not been home for the past 8 years now and he still won't find a chance to pick her up?
So unfair, she can't bear to see her father being engrossed with work on the day of her arrival.
With that, she has threatened that if he didn't come to pick her up then, he should bear it in mind that she'll be returning back to Asia and forever not step her foot back to New York.
"Xie xie (Thank you in Chinese)", Kate said to the attendant who helped her out with her luggages.
She walked so majestically like a model going for an endorsement shoot.
Her pink floral skirt and tummy tank top was perfect for her, bringing out her curvy shapes, attracting stares from people she comes across on her way to the waiting area.
Shed looked around, awaiting his dad and also his sis.
"Dad, don't do this", he said aloud, getting tensed.
Just then, he heard his name being called.
He looked up at where the voice was coming from.
"Oh goodness!", he thought sighting his sis who was now waving at him.
He brought out his right hand tugged in his pocket and also waved to her with a broad fake smile, reviewing his sets of teeth.
"Where's Dad?", she asked upon getting to him.
"He's...".
He stopped when someone mistakenly knocked on his sister.
She lost balanced and was about to fall when Shed caught up with her.
"(Have you lost it)?!", she exclaimed, angrily.
"I'm so sorry", Thomas pleaded.
"Of course you should be", Kate replied aggressively, regaining her balance.
"Are you hurt dear?", Thomas asked, trying to touch her but she pushed his hands away.
"Don't you dare touch me, you rascal!", she screamed, furiously.
Shed, Thomas and the attendant all flinched at her scream.
"I'm so sorry", Thomas pleaded again.
"Get lost!", she shouted, "I said get lost".
"Sis, that's too harsh", Shed tried to say but she cut him short.
"Have you lost your mind, can't you see what this fowl did to me, gosh! Y'all are so annoying", she uttered angrily.
"What's going on here?", Mr. Lennox asked as soon as he gets to them.
"Dad?!", Kate called and jumped on him.
"My lovely daughter!", Riley replied, receiving the hug.
"Dad, I was asking about you when this thing here hit passed me", she childishly reported, pointing at Thomas whose head was bowed from mockery.
"Don't worry dearie, he made a mistake, will you please forgive him?", Riley asked, beckoning to his daughter.
"Whatever", she said and huffed away.
"Please forgive me", Thomas also pleaded.
"You're forgiven", she said not giving him a face.
Thomas bowed and turned to leave, his innocent face turning into a smirk.
"Got you right there", he said aloud as he stride away to his car.
"Dad, I thought you won't pick me up", Kate referred to her dad as they drove home.
"I miss my dearie so much, I wouldn't want to lose you to a foreign country", Riley answered, pitching her lightly on her cheeks.
"I'm back home!", Kate announced.
"Welcome back home sis, I miss you so much", Riley said from the driver's seat, his face on the road.
"I miss you too sweetheart. How has life in New York been treating you?", she asked, kindled.
"Fairy enough", Shed answered, making a face.
"Who has been disturbing you?", she asked, eager to know who needs a spank in the ass.
"No one though, except dad's favorite person", Shed whispered.
"You mean, Miss Rose?", Kate asked, suspicious.
"You're right", he answered.
"Dad?", Kate called her dad who was busy with his phone. "Dad?!", she called again.
"Yes?", Riley answered.
"I heard Miss Rose still haven't got back with her husband".
"Who told you that? And why are you asking?", Riley asked, tracing his gaze from his daughter to his son.
"She still disturbs my little bone", she answered sheepishly.
"She doesn't need to get back with someone who left her and she has all the right to direct your little bone to the right path", Riley relayed, giving them a good explanation.
"I heard she and Davis are still blogged headed, those two will be enemies forever", Kate said and laughed, Shed joining her.
"Stop it Kate. I'm sure they're pretending to be like that", Riley said.
"Of course", Shed said but Kate couldn't stop laughing at their words.
"My sis is back, world!", Shed thought as he watched his sister laugh at every single thing they talked about.
Angie's POV
"You seems so happy today", Dad said as I was preparing breakfast.
"Why that, dad?", I asked facing him.
"You've been humming like a bee ever since you woke up this morning", he said while I blushed hard remembering yesterday night.
"You know what dad", I said trying to change the topic. "I was asked to participate in the BGS game final competition coming ahead".
"What's BGS game?", my dad asked, worriedly.
"Oops", I muttered, remembering my dad has no knowledge of what BGS game means. "It means, Brooklyn Girl's swimming game".
"Oh that!", dad exclaimed, softly.
"Yeah".
"That's wonderful. I can see the reasons behind your happy mood", dad complimented.
"Yes dad but I'll be a little bit stressed out", I complained.
"Nothing comes easy, Angel", dad disclosed while I nodded.
"Nothing comes easy", I also thought and smiled.
Just some days ago, I'd thought I won't be able to help Maths overcome his past but right now I think I have done some great job.
If he was able to kiss me yesterday without being drunk or forced then I knew we're soon coming at changing him.
Why am I thinking of him this way? It seems my feelings for him has been accessed successfully.
I tried resisting the kiss yesterday but I couldn't bring myself off him.
He kissed me so beautiful that I wished it never stopped.
"Will you please come with me?", he asked after disengaging from the kiss.
Of course I couldn't say no after the kiss.
I nodded and he took my hands as we stride back to the car.
We entered the car and started off home again.
"I'm sorry for the kiss", he apologized.
I looked at him and saw the sincerity in his looks. He meant it this time.
"You have nothing to apologize for", I said and he stole me a glance.
"I thought you were angry the last time?", he asked.
"I was. We just met and you kissed me, who else won't get angry with that whereas it's fine since we're dating now", I answered.
We didn't say anything again to each other until we got to my house which I directed him to.
"Good night and sleep tight", I said as I was about to get off.
He nodded gazing large at me.
I came out from the car and waved at him before going in through the gate.
I smiled listening to the faint sound of his car as I entered into my house.
