After practicing their new song, they left for Coney Island. Shed already made a reservation at Blue's clubhouse. He decided to host a party since it's been a long time since he sang for his fans. On their way, he gave Nancy a call and asked her to invite Angie over. He wanted Angie to sing along with him since her voice was a good match to his.
After receiving the call from Shed, Nancy kept it from Angela to give her a big surprise. And it made up a big surprise when Shed invited Angie to the stage with him.
"Was this the Golden opportunity Nancy was talking about?" she thought. She looked towards her friend who sat down peacefully as if nothing had happened.
Since Shed beckoning at her was too much, she decided to give it a try. As she stood backstage waiting for them to be called, she cursed Nancy for not telling her about it. She was not well prepared nor did she have any idea that she was going to sing on the stage. Just then, Shed bent his head to her ear level and whispered to her.
"We'll be presenting 'Prince Maiden', hope you've learnt it? It's part of the songs I shared with you."
"You should have informed me before now," she complained and rolled her eyes.
"But you've learnt it, right?"
"Not well mastered."
"Don't worry, I got your back," Shed assured and gave her a warm smile.
She looked at his smiling face and hissed away. The sound his fans made was ecstatic when they were called onto the stage. He gave Angie another blissful smile and held her hand before going in. The whole place went tranquil seeing the unknown cute girl beside their singer. Some started to whisper to each other because they weren't expecting something like this. Angie could not look up as she became shy and sly.
She has never been on stage before but right then, she was standing in front of those piercing eyes. Shed notices the queer expression on her face and taps her shoulder to encourage her. She took a deep breath and put on a smile before raising her head to face the crowd.
The moment her head came up, her eyes met with his. Math's face was looking all aggressive but calm. Suddenly, goosebumps began to grow on her skin. They stared at each other for some seconds before she moved away from her eyes.
"How could he stare so hard at me without bashing his eyes? Did he hate me that much?" she thought. Her unanswered thoughts were cut off when the instruments began to play for them to start singing.
SAH mansion|
Sideon entered the mansion at exactly ten o'clock pm. It's been over a week since he came home and how much he missed his home. The maids greeted him as he strides up the stairs to his room. He met his pregnant wife and his daughter sleeping soundly together on the bed. He heaved a sigh of relief seeing them in good condition. He took off his clothes and went into the bathroom to get a shower. When he came out, Julianne was already awake.
He moved to her and gave her a peck on her forehead. "How have you been?" she asked.
"I'm good enough to see you and my children are in good condition."
"I'm sorry I couldn't visit you, you know, there are many things to attend to at work," she pleaded.
"It's okay, whereas I told you to quit your job."
"Shh…," she shut him abruptly by placing her hands on his lip, "How many times have I told you that I can't quit my job moreover, I'll take some leave soon."
"It's stressful for a pregnant woman to keep working efficiently," he muttered.
"I'll be okay," she assured him.
"Are you sure?"
"Ten thousand per cent sure,"
"I give up then," Sideon said and pinched her nose softly which caused her to laugh. He looked at Julie and touched her cheek.
"I'll take her to her room," he whispered to Julianne. He carried Julie gently in his arms as he strode out but stopped when he got to the door. "I'll drop by to check Mathias," he relayed and opened the door with his right hand.
Just about the time he got out of Julie's room, he heard the sound of Maths' car driving into the compound. He wasn't expecting him to be back home this late at night. He moved down the stairs and waited in the sitting room for him to get in.
Maths, in his drunken state, has driven home all by himself. His dad watched him as he staggered into the house lazily. As they came in contact, Maths gave him a devious stare and turned towards his stairs.
"Stop right there!" Sideon commanded, angrily.
For some moment, he stopped but as soon as his dad got to him, he started back up the stairs. He wasn't in the mood to get all work out because of his dad's speech.
Sideon turned blue. How could he possibly walk away on him just like that? He has grown a lot of wings and doesn't even remember that Sideon gave birth to him.
"That boy needs to know who heads," he mumbled, then he turned back and stumped towards the kitchen to get himself some water to drink.
Late In The night|
"Do you think he'll be okay all by himself?" Angie asked Nancy as they drove home from the club.
"He will, though he's drunk, he can still do things properly," Nancy answered as she turned the steering wheel towards her house.
"That's a relief then."
"What did your dad say about you spending the night here at my place?" Nancy asked.
"He said it's okay as long as we are safe," Angie answered.
"Good."
They got to Nancy's gate and she brought out the remote control to open up the gate before driving in.
They got down after parking the car and moved into the house. In order not to wake up others, and also to avoid harsh warnings from Nancy's parents, especially her mom, they walked in quietly.
They were thankful as they got into Nancy's room peacefully.
"I'm so tired," Nancy complained and threw herself on her bed.
"I'll take a bath," Angie said as she moved to the bathroom.
"Suit yourself."
Since it wasn't her first time visiting, Angie already knew where the bathroom was. After her bath, she got out and went straight to Nancy's wardrobe to choose a night dress. She finished wearing it, went to lie on the bed and slipped into the blanket quietly so as not to wake Nancy who was already asleep. As she lay down, she tried hard to get some sleep but it wasn't coming because her mind went back to what had happened at the club.
