"How beautiful!" A laughter left the Demon's mouth as he gripped harder on Eden's head, ready to rip it off. "Another food, another snack just decided to show up. So delicious, I can't imagine I'm going to have two snacks all by myself."
Vin couldn't believe his ears. This Demon actually planned on eating him.
"Hey! You can't just eat both of them, I'll also have a share" The other Demon said, forgetting he was about to kill Lucas.
"Well, I will give you the limbs. The rest are left for me."
"Deal!"
A cold breeze blew past the streets as they all stood. The moon reflected on the puddles around and Death lurked around.
"Are you deaf or something?" Vin's eyes shot in anger, "Let my friends go!."
"Oh please, stop acting all-"
The Demon's arm fell off, releasing Eden who fell on the ground in great pain.
"What?!"
Vin carried Eden and Lucas out of the way, into somewhere much safer. He knew these demons won't stop at any cost to devour them all.
In a doctor's house, he stumbled into, far from the demons in the quiet streets of Elaskor.
Laying Eden on the ground, a feminine calm voice scolded him.
"Don't place him there. The night is cold and the breeze is strong. He is also badly injured."
"Oh, I'm sorry." Vin quickly apologized, laying Eden and Lucas on different beds.
Turning to the woman, Vin smiled heartfully, "Thank you"
"No need for that. I am a doctor by the way, and we rarely see mages around here."
Her words made Vin stand in shock. How did she know he was a mage in training?
"Well…"
"Mrs Carolyn"
"Yes. Mrs Carolyn, I was wondering how you know I am a mage in training?"
"You are wearing the uniform"
"Oh"
"And it says Rank D at the back"
"Oh."
[All these years, I have lived and never knew I wore a uniform of Zenphek which says Rank D. No wonder all those demons are quick to notice which Rank we belong to.]
An awkward silence filled the room as they both stared at one another.
"I will take care of your friends, meanwhile, you-"
"I…I …. Am…. I am coming with you Vin!" Eden coughed out blood as he tried sitting up.
"Eden, No! You will not. Stay with Mrs Carolyn and be safe. You are severely injured" Vin told him with seriousness.
"And so? I am going to fight that Demon-"
"Eden, I suggest you should listen to your friend over here" Carolyn said, walking towards him. "Relax and let me heal your wounds. There are lots of deep cuts and bruises all over your body. Your jaw is broken and your throat is crushed. I wonder how you are still talking."
After a long silence of thoughts, Eden gave up, lying down on the bed.
"Come to think of it, Lucas has not said any word" Vin's eyes fell on him, worried and guilty.
[If not that I was not summoned in the first place, all these would not have happened.]
"He is unconscious and has lost a lot of blood. Almost got an internal bleeding and his rib cage broken. If not for luck, his left lung would have been squashed. Blood vessels are still in place, none ruptured, a miracle indeed." Carolyn examined Lucas, her experience beyond professional.
Vin clenched his fist tightly, enough to allow his blood to drip down.
[All my fault. This is all my fault. Lucas almost died and Eden is severely injured. All because of me.]
"I'm going to fight those upper ranked moon Demons and I will kill them" His voice thundered, and venom was missed in the words.
"Be careful!" Eden said, as Vin nodded.
"Be careful Vin, please." Carolyn as well said, waving as he went out, running to save the day and probably the world.

'Splish splash splish splash~
Vin ran through different puddles. His movement, swift and fast and hearings, improved and sharp.
Running down the quiet streets, he remembered the words Aragon told him earlier, during Alucus' invitation.
FLASHBACK, ONE HOUR AGO…
"Lord Dravil dear, looks like you are not enjoying this wonderful party, are you?" Aragon asked, moving to him with a glass in his hand.
"No, I am not. I have lot of things in mind and I have not accomplished majority of them"
"That's why you are here, to relax and push those thoughts aside for the time being." Aragon gave him a glass, his smile quite suspicious.
"Speak up"
"Okay," Aragon let out the words he always has been keeping, "Is there anything going on between you and Nina?"
"Nothing at all" Vin replied, trying not to look disgusted by drinking the blood.
"I can't believe you do not like to drink fresh blood again-"
"I do, I'm just stuck with lots of thinking and every drink tastes bitter just like my heart" Vin said, not knowing why those words left his mouth.
"I understand that. Maybe next time, it will be my invitation.."
"Your castle is filled with…. Maybe I will-" Vin changed his words, knowing Aragon is a sensitive Demon lord who takes any word he does not like to the extreme.
Although he uses sweet words, he is a monster underneath.
"You were saying?" Aragon's smile slowly went down, curiosity filling his heart.
"Your castle is filled with many things I cannot have and deep down, it makes me…."
"Yes?"
"It makes me jealous." Vin said this to shut up Aragon's curiosity.
"For real? The Almighty Dravil is jealous of me?. What else I must say?"
"Another word from you, and you are doomed." Vin struck him with these words.
"Oh please Lord Dravil, another one!"
"Lock up your face hole Aragon, I got a lot of work to carry on." Vin walked away, in his mind, he knew Aragon would tell the entire top demon about this.
END OF FLASHBACK.
Vin stopped immediately when he sensed the Demon's presence. Jumping out of the way before getting crushed to death, he stood face to face with the demons.
One standing close to him, the other on the rooftop.
"D-rank! How insulting!" The Demon spat out the words in anger.
Vin took a rock and smashed it, then he told the Demon, "That is how your face would be after I defeated you into crumbs."
"How repulsive! How annoying! How dare you talk to me like that, you bottom feeder!"
"Oh, I can say those words all day" Vin brought out his sword. "Time to die."
