BAIN POV
"Have they been dealt with Beta Luca?" "Yes Alpha, they have all been taken care of as you demanded." I nodded and my Beta returned to the Packhouse. I stand in the forest on the edge of my territory and look unto uninhabited land, knowing all the rogues that lay and waiting for an opportunity at taking down my pack.
Since my past I never back down from rogues they are the cause of so much of my childhood trauma, as my sister calls it, I hate them all.
At the thought of my past bubbling in my mind, I let my bones break and change, the cracking echoing through the silence of the night while I transform into my wolf Blaze. He was black as the night sky and in the glow of the moon the hue of his fur was bluish, he was large, muscular, with no imperfections to him besides our scars.
We shook out our fur and howled a victory howl over the rogues who were just defeated who crossed the territory line, loud enough to echo showing all rogues we were not scared of any of them. We ran through the tree line right on our borders showing any being who can see we would never back down. As we got closer to the packhouse I shifted and threw on sweats and a t-shirt, my Beta, Delta was waiting for me. "Alpha the rogues have been disposed of as you commanded." "Thank you, Delta Taylor, which will be all you guys have a good night."
They nodded in agreement and went on their way except for my Beta, Danny. "Bain, how have you been?" "Same old, as usual." "Your sister is worried about you; you seem to get more distant anymore." "Tell her I am fine because I am." He just turned and walked away, my sister always worries but she should know me by now, I do not plan on being giddy and lovey-dovey with people.
She wants me to start searching for my mate and Luna and settle down like normal Alphas, but I am far from normal, so far from normal and I will not let the past be my future.
Suddenly one of my patrol warriors mind-linked me, "Alpha, found two rogues crossing the border, one dead and the other is in our cells." "Good Job, start the interrogating process then I will take it from there." Well, no early night tonight, I turned heel and headed toward our cells to oversee information gathering from the rogue and make sure our pack is not in any danger.
I entered through our dungeon-based cells, cold, damp, and filled with misery. The top floor is for rogue children found or wounded, the bottom floor is for unknown rogues, and the information retrieval which in simple terms the torture room. Blaze was feeling anxious and acting out of sorts.
When I approached the door to the lower part of the dungeon the smell hit me like a ton of bricks, strawberries, and kiwi, oh no I know what that meant, Blaze wanted me to rush in the door but had my feet planted, the rogue captured was my mate.
'Blaze calm down you know how I feel about this whole situation and our mate is a rogue, our pack comes first let them interrogate and make sure there is no threat then we will talk to our mate.' 'I know this Bain, I know our past and I know the pain, but this could be our chance at happiness, at a real-life, and we both know what interrogating means.' I blocked him out so he would not hear what is going on because I know he would not allow any of it.
