Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine

As we entered the office the air was getting tense, I never thought I would have to speak about my life to anyone. "Bain, I need the Beta and your sister as well." I asked holding my hand as a notion to tell him I would explain.

It was not that long before they came in Georgia looking in between Bain and I wondering what the sudden meeting was about and I nodded, and she knew what was about to be discussed. "I called you both here because I am going to need assistance with keeping him calm," I said pointing to my mate who was eyeing me curiously. I took a long deep breath trying to calm my nerves and Willow giving some mental strength to help me through all this.

"Let us start from the beginning and let me go through everything before any comments or questions." They all nodded, and Georgia knew the shortest version and I could see the sympathy in her eyes. I sat in the chair across from them in a chair as they were sitting on the couch close enough encase Bain needed to be forced to calm down.

"This is definitely not going to be easy, so from the very top. My name is River Rose Dolan, I was born in The Southern Moon Pack, my parents were the Betas. When I was five years old my parents and I were celebrating their seventh anniversary at our spot near the waterfall. We were having so much fun and it was the best time." I closed remembering that day of us having so much fun being a family. "But the best of our lives turned into the worst. No sign at all and my father begun growling and then that is when it all came crashing down. So many rogues came out of no where my father was doing his best as Beta and warrior to fend them off my mother and I took off running and suddenly she fell to the ground. She was screaming in pain clutching her chest with tears in her eyes. She told me to keep running and not stop, that she loves me with her whole heart and to always stay strong for them. I knew that pain was the loss of her mate, my father." I wiped the tears falling from my face at the saddest day of my entire life.

"That day was the last time I ever felt happiness because the entire pack blamed me. That I was the cause to all this. The Alpha quickly stripped my rank and demoted me omega. They burned everything I owned and made my new room the basement no bed, no blanket, nothing. I only had the clothes on my back. I was forced to clean the entire pack house, do everyone's laundry and be everyone's slave. When I was eleven years old, I then had to start cooking for everyone when ever they demanded. I was only to get scraps if any were left and three cups of water a day. I also was whipped with several lashes twice a week so I would never forget my place." I rubbed my arms knowing this was not the worst part this was the simple stuff. 'You got this River I am here for you.' 'Thank you, Willow.'

"Little did I know those were the easy days, that was until the Alpha died and his son took over. I then became the punching bag whenever anyone was upset and needed an anger release. It was so frequent my body became numb to the pain. My body took longer to heal because my wolf and I were starved and dehydrated, and I did not want her to waste her energy knowing the healing would not last long enough. The only one who was nice to me then was when he found his mate when I was seventeen, the new Luna, she was sweet, but she could not overrule his verdict of my treatment, but she would try to sneak me food and bandages. She was then also brutally murdered, and no one knew how. Except they blamed the one person who was always the easiest target me. The beatings were worse than ever imagined. They would take me to what he called his personal torture chamber and would use anything and everything you could possibly imagine. I remember some nights during the daily beatings passing out the smell of my own blood and his sweat from wearing himself out due to the extreme beatings." I knew the next parts of my background would be the worse for him to hear.

When I looked at Bain, I could see him squeezing the arm rest of the couch, his knuckles were white. You could tell that he was battling his wolf and was on the edge of losing control. "Bain, may I speak to your wolf please the rest of this story will not be easy for either of you to hear and him losing control would not be good for either of us." He took a deep breath and let his wolf come forward. "Hello, my beautiful mate, my name is blaze." His eyes were a bright gold with little flakes of green in them. "Hello Blaze. Nice to finally meet you." "I am so sorry mate, I failed to protect you." I grabbed his hand, "No Blaze, none of this is on you. You did not know and if you were, I know you would have saved me. There is more to this story, and I need you to control yourself, I need you to remain calm for me okay I need you to promise me Blaze." He looked at me with so much pain in his eyes for me, "I promise you, Mate." Then he let Bain come back and he squeezed my hand and brought me to his lap inhaling my scent to remain calm, but I could not continue in this position. So, I scooted up to sit on the arm of the couch hearing him quietly whimper at the distance.

"It was like when I thought it could get no worse it always did. The torture room was basically my new home, for anyone to beat and use to their liking. One day he came up for what I thought to be a daily beating, but he wanted me to do sexual things to him and when I refused, he took what he wanted from me. He raped me over and over that night until I was bleeding and needed stitches." Bain growled at the words I was saying but squeezed my hand. "After weeks of the higher ranks having their way with me, I could not take it anymore, so I ran. I kept running never looking behind me. I ran into rogues I had to kill to survive, I did things I am not proud of but there was no way I was going back. I ran until I was chased down by that rogue you found me with Beta. I do not know why but I had a pull to protect you even though from the power of your aurora and I knew you could protect yourselves I just had to so I killed the rogue." I wiped the tears from my face and then suddenly I felt sparks shooting through my body and strong arms pulling me in. "I am so sorry River I wish I could have been there, saved you from that abuse if I ever see him, I will rip him in two." I could not help but return his embrace and just let him hold me.

I do not know how long we were just sitting there in each other's arms, but Georgia and her mate had left hours ago. I was feeling tired when suddenly, Bain picked me up bridal style and carried me to my room. He laid me on the bed and kissed my forehead and went to leave and I grabbed his arm. "Please, stay with me." I asked in a mere whisper knowing he could hear me. "Of course, River I would not rather be anywhere else." I quickly let slumber take me with Bain holding me in his arms I was content with this feeling and was wondering if I ever again could be happy.
