Akrem.
I was captivated by the great story that Iron was so willing to tell about Arianell's mom. I felt like I was in the Green Valley's big library. To be honest, I missed those times when I drown myself in the books. Just like old times, I was drowning in great werewolf stories. The only difference today was that the stories were told by Iron, my mighty beta who had gone to battles even more than I was.
Well, I had never been in one, so that made him the expert,
"Now let me tell you about Arianell's mom. She was a strong she-wolf. A lone…"
Iron paused for a while when he mentioned the word 'lone'. It seemed like he made sure that I wasn't offended. I nodded a little and show my anticipation expression making sure he wouldn't hesitate to tell the stories more.
"You know Luna can never be an alpha, right? It wouldn't be the same. A male alpha is always meant to be the leader because the rest of the pack will obey the alpha without hesitation because of the male gender. But when a Luna becomes the alpha, she needs to prove herself to the pack male members that she's worthy of it."
I blinked my eyes in an instance and still showed him my enthusiastic expression in order for him to go on without any more hesitation.
"Arianell's mom was a clever one. She passed that trouble and made us work as a team without leader. Everyone has a saying in the pack. We considered the best solution to take. And usually the decision making was achieved by voting. So if the result was right or wrong, we were in it together."
I was amazed by the way Arianell's mom worked on running the pack,
"That's… awesome, 'Ron!"
He replied ecstatically,
"I know, right?!" he carried on with even more giddy expression flaunted on his face," and she was the biggest war-wolf I've ever seen…"
"Woohoo…," I was in awe.
But Iron's expression became saddened,
"Not long after that, we found a Tribrid. She had been after the Tribrid for quite some time. Thus she asked me to help her kill the Tribrid who killed all kinds of creatures. We could kill the Tribrid using her war-wolf form and my iron fist."
Curiosity maddened me,
"How could she be a war-wolf? Isn't that hard to master and the chances to get back to human is quite long for the process. Isn't she afraid her war-wolf form would take her soul forever and she gone mad?"
"That's the most interesting part, 'Krem. Arianell's mom was almost two hundred years old, that's the reason she mastered the shifting very well. She said that not being an alpha's Luna made her honed her power to its maximum potential…"
"She said that she wanted to retire after killing the Tribrid. She grew exhausted and wanted to live as human leaving shifting to she-wolf behind. Maybe at that time, she wanted to go back to Arianell's dad and Arianell. Because we, the pack have already protected the Main Land, she intended to go back to be the wife of Keanu Crane and be a good mom for Arianell…"
"But it was too late, isn't it? She was killed?" I cut his story because I knew what the next line would be.
"Indeed, 'Krem. But she wasn't killed right away. Right before she killed the Tribrid and tore it apart, the Tribrid casted a spell that Arianell's mom can't shift again. She became human and died of malignant cancer. She wrote all the chronology in her diary. One day, you have to read it and when the time comes, you have to tell Arianell and let her read it by herself. "
"I will, 'Ron." I gave him my promise.
"It's her legacy. Arianell has no dad as well now. She needs to know who she really is." Iron affirmed his statement.
"I couldn't agree more." I completely agreed with him.
"Then now it's our job to keep the peace in the Main Land from the rogue vampires, right?" I asked for confirmation which was already obvious to test if Iron was really determined.
"Absolutely, Akrem Akhmedov, my mighty alpha. I hope that you'll always remember this as I think I only remind you who have already been really familiar with the function of werewolves to human since even before century. Human is the living, the future. We can stop being Moon Goddess' troops when the peace is restored and human thrive…"
Hence, I tried to guess the next line he was about to say,
"Erase the rogue vampires and growing old as human? That must be lovely!"
"True, 'Krem. Thus, never shift until you become the war-wolf, it'll control you one day if you were too young to handle it."
Really he was an expert in making me curious,
"But what happened to Arianell's mom?"
"Since she's old enough to slowly degenerate each time she turned into war-wolf, the Tribrid's spell worked on her because she let it. Like I've told you before, she was tired to be a wolf."
I nodded of a complete agreement. With high spirit, Iron flared his flame,
"Now it's our turn. Would you lead the way, Alpha?" he asked me.
I frowned,
"You're the most experienced one in battlefield, why should I lead?"
Mockingly, he smiled,
"Coz you're bigger, and you have more access to extra ordinary knowledge from the Akhmedov clan. My clan is still an old fashioned one because we have to test our iron fists in the nature. But yours is more modern and advance. I believe your knowledge surpasses us too. Therefore I want you to be my alpha, our alpha."
The young wolf in me still only thought about his mate,
"Should we tell Arianell?"
"Of course, her mom wants her to be the guide of our conquering to the rogue vampires. She must involve in this. Also, this is the way for her to be able to sharpen her skills as a great Empath. If she can read other's mind and communicate with us through minds, then she finally reaches her full potential."
"And then we can tell her that she's a wolf?" I got curious again.
Iron sighed,
"Be patient, young wolf, sometimes you're still green and mature or wise just because you master a lot of knowledge from the Akhmedov clan. DO NOT TELL HER BEFORE SHE SHIFTS!"
He ended his line with widened eyes and louder voice.
And I only showed him my ignorance face because I knew exactly he wasn't supposed to talk like that to his alpha. He was just being annoyed, so I forgave him. But I was in silence because…
