Akrem.
Iron and I were at Arianell's place and we were pretty sure that Arianell could read minds, so I threw no more than a second glance at Iron to see if Iron caught the same thought as I thought.
He did! So we needed to be sure and tested the water…
"How come I'm the one who's smart, it was Iron's idea." I tested the water, to see if she really could read Iron's and my minds.
Arianell didn't answer right away, it looked like she was pausing to think about what she'd answer. Iron and I knew she was hiding something.
"Hmm...?" she mumbled.
Touche!
We were definitely in a pack. Even the way she pretended to act stupid resembled Iron's and my ways to false pretend anything that we'd like to have a thought kept to ourselves.
Right away, I shot the question, because it was now or never and we were racing with we needed to slay rogue vampires let loose so that many humans could be protected.
We needed her as my pack's guidance,
"You now can read our minds, right, Anne? Or you could read since even before you met me? Which is impossible, because you'd be giggling all the time if you knew what in my mind was... "
She chuckled,
"As I hope, we're a bunch of smart people, aren't we. I'm glad, I have the best canine troop to protect the humans. Yes, I can read your minds now... "
Iron's eyes almost popped out of their places since we could see them clearly because he didn't wear glasses. While I was shocked but tried to gain my composure and asked the necessary question,
"Since when? "
I grinned because of my embarrassment knowing that she knew what in my mind was, or simply happy but I wasn't sure if that was a good idea knowing all my dirty thoughts were acknowledged by her.
There'd be no more surprises for her because she could read our minds, or it was just a way for me to develop a new ability to seal my inner thoughts from her. And as for the hunting after the rogue vampires, her new ability absolutely would come in handy.
"Remember the day you kissed me so slow on my forehead when I went to your place and you had just finished showering? Since that time." She ended her sentence with a meaningful smile.
All of a sudden, my face became hot and I thought it looked red because I remembered I was thinking about making love to Arianell on my kitchen table. She was screaming with pleasure because I made her feel good in my mind.
The next thing that happened was Iron and Arianell giggling and laughing at me. I couldn't help myself as well so I laughed so loud. And I said,
"Sorry, Anne. Sorry about that. Now you know how horny a werewolf can be. But I assure you, it's just because you're my Luna."
A hint of tears came out of my eyes because I was laughing so hard with them. Arianell then stated a line trying to calm me and not to feel guilty,
"That's ok, 'Krem. You didn't know. I pretty much can imagine men's minds would be as interesting as yours... " and she still grinned devilishly.
I was confused, women were supposed to get mad if they knew some men thought dirty about them. But not Arianell, she just embraced it, or could I hope that she liked what I had thought about her? Well, I could just hope because I wasn't the one who could read minds.
"Back to business, so when did you say you're going to go there, Anne?" I had to make sure that Iron and I could come along.
She answered briefly with a hint of a smile,
"Next week, Daniel said that I can witness the execution on Saturday in the evening."
"A date with the death. Yea you deserve that 'Nell. So when do you plan to fly there?" As usual Iron continued my line.
"Next Monday after my last exam, I guess. I'll have to sign some letters, Daniel said. A formality as approval from the victim's family member to carry out the death sentence."
I frowned if that was necessary because the verdict of the execution didn't depend on the victim's family member's approval. It was just obvious that the victim's family got what they deserved, the death penalty for the murderer, just like the murderer killed Arianell's father.
I didn't know about the law in the Imperial Colony, but my hunch said something was fishy. But I had to be there for Arianell, so I guessed I'd fly there as well after my last exam.
"Well, Iron and I can catch you later after our exams are done. I'll be done by Wednesday next week, how about you, 'Ron?"
"Mine will be on Thursday morning, we can take the 11 AM flight. We'll be there around early Friday morning. We can still check the perimeter from Friday till night and Saturday morning, right 'Krem?" Iron purposely asked for my approval.
He wanted me to check his proposal of the schedule. With my fast brain, I was sure that his schedule was correct. We had around 7 hours difference earlier than the Imperial Colony. He did his math good.
"Yea, you got that right, I'll wait for Iron, and yup, we can still check the crime scene, just to be sure we're not sending the wrong person to hell." I closed my final statement because I had been wanting to go directly to the main reason Iron and I were at Arianell's apartment in the middle of the night.
Especially knowing that now she could read minds, our duty slaying the rogue vampires would be a whole lot easier.
"Now, Anne... there's something that we've been wanting to tell you... "I stopped my sentence halfway because instead of seeing her get confused, she opened her mouth. It was her habit before she smiled and she...
