Arianell's soft and firm voice welcomed us from inside the room,
"Come in, boys. I'm in the living room"
I was disappointed, I was hoping she would lie naked on the bed ready to take my warm body with bare chest.
Woohoo! My wolf was so horny.
"Krem... "Iron caught a glimpse of my thought. He read my dirty ones.
"Sorry... "I said, "Can't help it." He shook his head again,
"That's why fuck her already! She's your mate anyway. What are you waiting for?"
I narrowed my eyes at him and signed my forefinger on my lips to tell him to shut up.
He grinned and chuckled.
We slowly got in and passed the bedroom to get into the living room. Sat there Arianell on the couch with her gaze engrossed on her laptop. She was in her baby blue bathrobe in sync with her bright blue eyes.
Another disappointment, she wore it covered so tight. But the tip of her hair on the left side was on the back of her ear. I could see her naked neck.
Thank Moon Goddess I was a werewolf. If I were a vampire, I'd sink my fangs into that flaunting bare naked skin neck. It was so tempting that I'd like to kiss that part so fierce, press my tongue and lick a bit there. Just to taste her skin. It was my mate's skin, my Luna's skin.
Surprisingly, she suddenly looked at me while running her left hand brought the hair to the backside and tilted her head to the right, exposing an even more spacious part of her neck for me to explore. It was like she knew I wanted to touch her there. Then she showed a devilish smile.
It was almost like she read my mind then she slightly opened her mouth, inviting me for a kiss with a little bit of tongue.
I imagined that in my mind while swallowing my saliva. To my surprise, she ran the tip of her tongue slightly to her upper lips and retracted her tongue so slow brushing a little tip of her white teeth.
She was the definition of the death of me. She let out a small breath and smiled.
I was doomed. My strong legs were instantly weak. But I tried to hide it. My flirting session using my eight packs and bare chest failed. I fell hard for her. So I surrendered.
She suddenly chuckled without reason and finally spoke,
"Sorry I didn't know how to contact you back after my last call to you. I know that you're already on your way here. But Daniel suddenly canceled his plan to call when I texted that you two will be here so we could arrange a plan when you come with me there to the Imperial Colony. "
From being swept off my feet, I canceled the romantic vibe suddenly that my hunch said there was something fishy about this Daniel guy. But Iron spoke my mind faster,
"What 'Nell? That's weird. Something is off. Are you sure we can trust this guy? We're supposed to work together, not pick sides on which person we want to work with. Are you saying he's only talking to you? But we're the canine troop. "
As expected from a Gursala werewolf with experience. Iron knew what he was talking about. All I needed to do was to back up his hypothesis,
"Yea Anne, I got a bad feeling about this Daniel guy. My alpha's hunch said that. "
She smiled so meaningful and continued,
"It was because they already got the killer so Daniel thought that you two won't be necessarily needed anymore. "
Like twin brothers, Iron and I shouted the same word,
"WHAT?" We said we were the children of Moon Goddess when we were supposed to help Arianell find the murderer of her father.
It had been weeks since they didn't find the killer. But suddenly this Daniel guy found the killer just because we said we the wolves would want to hear his explanation about his investigation. We had a small meeting on which spots in the Imperial Colony Iron and I could search for clues.
But before we even set our paws on the pavement of the Imperial Colony's old street, Daniel, the supernatural cop's apprentice said that he found the killer.
Iron and I felt suspicious about it. While Arianell seemed like she didn't care. All this time, after her father's mysterious death, she seemed tired all the time and emotionally exhausted. I could feel that she didn't care who the killer was. She only cared and deep down inside, she swallowed her sorrow by herself.
If only she shared it with me, maybe she'd be fine a bit.
"How is that possible? It had been weeks you said, Anne. If their canine troops which consist of only dogs couldn't find the killer, how come Daniel who is a mere human could find the killer? Don't you think it's fishy, 'Ron? "
I was just hoping that Iron would agree with me. He's my beta after all that it's just obvious he'd be on the same page with me.
"So what's next, 'Nell? Even though Daniel or you don't need us to go there, at least can we check the perimeter where they found the killer? Maybe we could have some more clues... "
I cut Iron's next line because I believed he was about to say the same thing as I did, we were in a pack anyway, if our minds syncing, it was just obvious,
"Just to make sure that they caught the right killer. Don't you think the same, Anne?"
She lifted the outer tip of her right eyebrow and frowned a bit. She was thinking. I had to persuade her that Iron and I would have access to her dad's murder investigation. It was for the sake of my peace for Arianell.
So I could be sure that I was capable of protecting her,
"When will you go there? They asked you to see the killer, right? That's about the right justice you get for having your dad being murdered."
She nodded reluctantly then I could see there was relief written on her facial expression. It felt like she had been holding it for too long. It seemed like she had been waiting for the moment her father's killer was found.
Then when her gaze went blank, it was my chance to ask her,
"Iron and I will go with you. Just like he said... "I pointed my head to Iron's direction, "we need to check the perimeter just to make sure they caught the right guy. It's just a precaution, Anne. It's a basic procedure for werewolves to sweep the area of the crime scene. We can find clues or residues that humans or any other supernatural beings can't find."
[Smart!]
Iron spoke in my head, and I threw a glimpse of an agreement to him then get back admiring Arianell's beautiful face. But I found sudden news on it. She smiled like she was enlightened. A glow of being in love could be read on her face.
I was puzzled when she said,
"Ya, I like the idea...," her voice was so soft and inviting. The voice of a damsel in distress though she was far away from that definition. She was soft for the exterior, but a strong soul and a determined one in the interior. If you don't know her well enough, you'd be mistaken for someone weak and spoiled.
It was possible because of her so slim figure. But I could imagine she'd be a strong Empath warrior. She was my kind of heroine. My knees felt weak just to picture her like that.
But she let out a line that made me a little bit suspicious,
"Thank you, Akrem. You're so smart, right Iron?" She asked for Iron's confirmation which was a line that we had in our minds just a while ago. It seemed like she was in synch with us, or it was just a coincidence.
I threw no more than a second glance at Iron to see if Iron caught the same thought as I thought.
He did! So we needed to be sure and tested the water,…
