Chapter 44 - Noah and the elite

Noah leaped up and head-butted a student several times his height.

The student moved back a little and held his forehead. When he removed it, a round boil had formed on it.

The students watching the fight moved their gaze from Noah to the other student, who wore a white uniform.

"What? Is his head made of iron? " A student wondered aloud The other students had the same thoughts as well.

"Wanna continue?" Noah said in a concerned tone.

"Am alright. This is nothing compared to the ones I've received. " The student ripped off his uniform top, and his wide chest came into view. A few trails of scars ran through his chest.

With the help of healing pills, his scars had healed over the years, but the mark remained.

"That's a nice chest you got there, so can we start our fight now?" Noah said.

The two closed the gap between them again, and they started barraging each other with punches and kicks. But it won't take long to realize that Noah had the upper hand.

The elite student had the ability known as "super strength," so he didn't use any fancy skills, just brute strength.

Noah, on the other hand, uses only super strength, as though they were competing.

"Noah, just what are you?" Ethan thought as he watched the scene unfold in front of him.

He'd seen Noah use several skills, but from what he heard and found out, a human can only use one ability. But clearly, Noah differs from that logic.

Ethan refocused on the fight.

The elite student now looked fatigued with heavy sweat pouring out of his body. But Noah didn't break a single sweat. He seemed fine.

"Nice playing with you, but I have more important things to do," Noah said and grabbed the student, with both hands, on the shoulders, force him to his level, and kneed him on the stomach.

The student puked blood mixed with saliva on Noah's uniform.

Noah, still holding the student, kneed the student again. The sound of the students crushing bones resounded inside the hall.

The elite students all watched in horror at the scene of their fellow elite suffering.

They all wondered why Noah wore the black uniform when he deserved the white. Although they had heard about his feats at the race, they didn't take it seriously since the race only benefits normal students.

As for the pure blood and elites, it didn't concern them much; whether they came last or first, the academy would still treat them specially.

The referee officiating the fight panicked. The elite students came from influential families and purebloods, so he naturally panicked.

The elite student fighter came from an influential family, but Noah, no one knows anything about him.

The referee proceeded to stop the fight, but he halted when an order came from his earpiece.

Noah, by now, had already kneed his opponent a total of 20 times. The tall, elite student now looked the opposite of his former self.

Sticky blood trailed down from his mouth to his chest. His disheveled hair covered half of his dried-blood cheeks.

Noah gripped the student's shoulder tightly to prevent him from succumbing to his wobbling, shakey legs that would give out any moment from now.

"I—give—"

"Sorry," Noah cut him off. "It's too late."

He pushed the student backward a little. He moved back, gained momentum, jumped up, and did a drop kick.

The kick sent the student flying backward, and he landed on the ground.

The student used his shakey, trembling hands to push himself up. Green pulsating veins ran through his hands as he slowly lay on a push-up post.

But his hands trembled harder and gave out. He fell face-flat to the ground.

The students all looked at Noah in a new light. They have always underestimated the black-uniformed students, but today, their opinion changed.

The referee walked toward the student, with a metal briefcase in his hand.

He squatted low to close in on the knocked-out student and placed his hands on the student's nostrils and chest.

The referee heaved an audible sigh of relief. Although an order came for him to let the fight play out, he still would have intervened.

He knew the boy's family would use that as an excuse to make him suffer for the rest of his life. No, they would wipe him off the face of the earth.

And the military probably won't do anything since they received funds from that family as well.

The referee hit a green button on the briefcase. The briefcase opened wide, into two, and it started unfolding step by step until it turned into a stretcher with four tires.

After some time, the referee rolled the student out of the room.

All the students scattered away from the area, but they all kept that brutal scene in the back of their minds.

When all the students left to do their things, Ethan walked toward Noah.

"Hey." Ethan tapped on Noah's shoulder. Noah stopped the healing pills he wanted to swallow and turned around.

"Yeah, take this." Ethan handed him a blue healing pill. "This is more effective."

"Thanks, bro." Noah didn't ask any questions and threw the pill into his mouth.

Although Noah didn't look tired, he still felt exhausted.

It wasn't an easy feat to reduce your strength to your opponent's level and still win against them.

But Noah knew better than to brag. After all, he had a huge advantage over anyone since he could use multiple abilities at once.

"Congratulations on your victory," Ethan said after Noah finished taking the pill.

"Thanks, but that was nothing."

"Before I forget, this is Layla." Ethan gestures to Layla beside him.

"You're the girl from the field. Am Layla. I mean, Noah. " Noah said, and he added, "Ethan's best friend."

best friend? Ethan thought, but it didn't sound bad, though.

After chatting for a while, Ethan said, "It seems like I am the only one not—"

"Hey, your'Ethan, right?"

Yeah, comes trouble.

"Yes?" Ethan looked at the short student who interrupted him. "Any problem?"

"You messed up with my friend, remember?" The student flashed a smile.

"Kai?"

"quite talking. Time for some payback. "
