Chapter 51 - SHOCKING TIDINGS I

ALEXANDER POV:

I entered into the chopper on the runway. The pilot was already warming the engines before I arrived.

We soon started liftoff. Soon, we were in the air. The destination was Atlanta, Georgia.

Due to the customized modifications of the chopper, to the taste of yours truly, and a hint of good luck from the weather, we got there, ahead by 45 minutes.

The company hosting the show, Holdings Inc, was one of the popular multi-faceted companies in the country, at least.

It was one of the only giants free from the monopoly of Hela. It refused to sell even low-stock shares to Hela's.

That's why I honoured the invitation. At least, I was sure not to answer Wiccian indirectly.

I landed on the hangar atop the building.

Some security officials were in place.

Of course, I had mine, but safety protocols warranted it.

As soon as I alighted, a man came out from the rooftop door. It was Holdings Inc's owner, Franklin Redgurd.

He walked towards the door of my chopper and watched me slight.

"Mr. President!".

I smiled lightly and shook hands with him.

"You can call me Mr. Alex.It will be better for a man of your calibre".

"I dare not, my honourable President".

"Thank you for inviting me to speak on this new innovation launched yesterday".

"Thank you, Mr. President for honouring my invitation".

"I must say, I'm overwhelmed. I didn't invent the U.L.D, but I'm been called upon to speak on the hardwork of others".

"America's entering a new age. Who could lead us there better than our dear president?".

I let out a suspicious laugh. He joined me. I could feel a bit of sarcasm in his last statement.

All my mind could boil down to was press attention.

After we finished laughing, he led me through the hallway.

All people we walked past soon straightened up as they saw us. I was past stopping them because I already got used to it.

We walked to a room full of cast and crew of the show.

"Mr. President!", alerted the anchor.

Everybody straightened up as they saw me. They all saluted me. I indulged them.

The anchor, Sentel Henderson walked up to me.

We exchanged pleasantries.

We were discussing the usual when a crew member alerted us.

"The show's in ten!".

IN VILLE MANOR

ACE POV:

I was surprised. Blood witches could see Merlin too.

"Long time, no see, Merlin!" smirked Rachel.

"I see you've grown somewhat more powerful, Rachel".

"What can I say? The war's taught me a lot".

"How's that runaway boyfriend of yours?".

"He's not a runaway!".

"Oh, really? Why can't he face his family then?".

"He will. When he's done putting together his plan!".

"500 years is a really long time to plan, Rachel. Sure he hasn't found another?".

Merlin was really good at sarcasm. Little wonder he made more enemies than friends.

She got angry and sent a missile to Merlin. It went right through.

"I'm still his one and only!".

"Yeah, sure. When he's picked your family apart, he'll sure dump you later".

"He'd never leave me. He loves me!".

"A man about to destroy the last of his bloodline is who you call lover? Pitiful!".

"They offended him first. He's just returning the favour! Just like me!".

"Wait, what's going on?".

She sent a missile in my direction.

Suddenly, my senses blur and come back to me.

I looked around. Everywhere was stained in blood. Even I.

I saw some witches fallen to the ground, bleeding from various parts of their body. They were stone dead.

I couldn't fathom what happened. Rachel was injured and dragging herself on the floor.

"Get away from me, you monster!".

I was still confused. But the fear in her eyes confirmed my gut feelings.

I did this!!!!!!

I staggered backwards.

"Wh..Wh...What...ha... happened?".

I could only stammer.

"I possessed your body and defended you!".

I looked back. It was Merlin.

"What did you do?".

"What I had to!".

I looked at Rachel. She was sore wounded.

"I shan't die alone, pureblood".

She took out a flute and began to blow it powerfully.

Thuds were heard coming, from faint to loud.

It was Oxiagal!

Walls began to fall in its path.

It was so close until...

An ear-splitting screech filled the room!

Everybody looked to the looming shadow passing over the walls.

"It can't be! It can't be....!".

It let out another powerful cry.

"Swift!".
